In the latter part of the night, Shu Wan slept uneasily, her dreams filled with an overwhelming red, the pained screams of a hundred thousand soldiers entwining around her.

Fu Siyu had been in a eting until late and didn’t return until after midnight.

He habitually walked to the bedside, wanting to check on Shu Wan, but saw her in apparent pain, as if caught in a nightmare.

Fu Siyu imdiately leaned over and gently patted Shu Wan’s shoulder, "Are you okay? Wake up."

In the chaos, Fu Siyu’s voice seed as if it ca from another world, bringing a glimr of clarity to Shu Wan who was nearly suffocating.

She forcibly pulled herself out of the blood-soaked dream and slowly opened her eyes to et Fu Siyu’s concerned gaze.

"Did you have a nightmare?"

Fu Siyu helped Shu Wan sit up and poured her a glass of water, patting her back soothingly.

"Mhm, dread about so unpleasant things."

Having just extracted herself from the nightmare, a thin sweat had broken out on Shu Wan’s forehead, and she exhaled softly, her eyebrows involuntarily furrowed.

"I shouldn’t have taken you to see that exhibition."

For so reason, Fu Siyu always felt that the exhibition they saw that day carried an evil aura, with an indescribable chill.

Fu Siyu had not believed in ghosts and spirits, but...

"I dread that a lot of people died."

Even though she had withdrawn from the dream, recalling the scenes in her dream still left Shu Wan sowhat breathless.

"It’s all just a dream, I’ll chat with you for a bit."

Saying this, Fu Siyu sat by Shu Wan’s side, drawing her into his embrace.

Surrounded by Fu Siyu’s scent, Shu Wan’s mind settled considerably, and she took a deep breath, instinctively wrapping her arms around Fu Siyu’s waist, nuzzling against his chest.

Ever since their intimacy had been interrupted last ti, they either had been busy or could not find the right mont, never managing to cross that threshold.

Yet certain exquisite experiences, if left untried, might not matter, but once tasted, even just a slight trial, could leave one utterly intoxicated.

Even with restraint unparalleled by ordinary people, Fu Siyu could barely maintain a minimum level of composure.

At this mont, his composure was on the brink.

Shu Wan was white as porcelain jade, her complexion flushed pink from being suffused in the blanket, her entire being exuded a tantalizing hint of allure.

Fu Siyu’s gaze landed on Shu Wan’s shoulder, where the thin straps loosely hung on her porcelain white shoulders, imdiately causing his gaze to darken.

The physical desire arose uncontrollably, but ntally, he could still force it down.

Fu Siyu’s eyes flickered as he diverted his gaze away from Shu Wan, "Continue sleeping, I’m going to wash up."

"Don’t go," Shu Wan refused to let go, "stay with ."

Fu Siyu let out a helpless chuckle, happy at Shu Wan’s dependency, yet feeling powerless due to the barely suppressed fla within him.

"I can stay," Fu Siyu said, and kissed her ear, "but you might be overestimating my self-control."

Shu Wan’s eyelashes trembled slightly, and she poked him twice in the chest, "That’s not overestimating."

Fu Siyu held Shu Wan’s hand, delicate as white porcelain, causing his heart to sway.

He rolled his adam’s apple, looking intensely at her, and pressed his lips against the corner of her eyes and the sides of her cheeks, "I—"

Having spoken just a word, Fu Siyu suddenly stiffened as a thought struck him.

Shu Wan lifted her head, looking at Fu Siyu puzzled, "What’s wrong?"

"Don’t you feel terrible in your stomach?"

Shu Wan paused, surprised.

When Fu Siyu hadn’t ntioned it, she hadn’t noticed, but now that he had, Shu Wan beca aware of a faint feeling of bloating in her lower abdon.

Probably because Fu Siyu had taken such ticulous care of her during this ti, Shu Wan hadn’t been careful about keeping track of her cycle.

Carefully calculating, her period was indeed due.

"Oh, then let’s get so sleep."

Health cos first, so Shu Wan also let go of her worries, yawned, and crawled into the bed.

Fu Siyu tucked Shu Wan in snugly, "Good night."

Fu Siyu was quick with his washing up, just a brief rinse, and after drying off, he lay down next to Shu Wan.

Snuggled in Fu Siyu’s arms, her nose filled with his crisp, fresh scent, Shu Wan felt greatly comforted and sighed subconsciously, "It’s so nice to have you."

Fu Siyu hugged Shu Wan a little tighter, "Then never leave ."

Shu Wan’s eyelashes fluttered, "Mhm."

Fu Siyu appeared to want assurance, as he lowered his head, looking straight into Shu Wan’s eyes, "You’ll never leave , right?"

Fu Siyu was always a man of subdued emotions, seldom showing them, but at this mont, his anxiety was quite evident.

Shu Wan couldn’t help but open her eyes, "Fu Siyu, what’s wrong with you lately?"

"I don’t know," Fu Siyu smiled, "Lately, I keep feeling this strange sensation that you might leave ."

"I won’t." Shu Wan lifted her head and kissed Fu Siyu, "I’ll always be by your side."

Fu Siyu clasped Shu Wan’s hand, their fingers interlocking, "Good, I’ll rember that."

Shu Wan smiled at Fu Siyu, "Hug ."

"Mhm."

Fu Siyu held Shu Wan tight, as if trying to embed her into himself, "Once the new year is over, will the drama be finished?"

"Yes."

The reason a TV series takes ti is often due to poor coordination among actors, and the need to continuously adjust to the optimal state during the acting process.

But for Director Wei Jia and Shu Wan, these were not issues.

Shu Wan rarely needed a second take, and her scenes were usually done in one go. Under her lead, the other actors also cooperated well, greatly reducing filming ti.

Thus, in less than three months, they had almost reached the final phase of the shooting schedule, with completion expected before the end of the year.

"Then I’ll take you on a trip," Fu Siyu said, "you ntioned wanting to visit countries around the Equator."

Up to this point, Shu Wan had only read about those perpetually hot countries in geography books, and she wanted to see the colorful flora and fauna for herself.

"Sounds great."

Shu Wan was already getting sleepy, half-closing her eyes as she nodded vaguely.

"Sleep well, good night."

For many companies, high visibility equates to intangible advertising traffic. The news of Shu Yong being Fu Siyu’s father-in-law accelerated the rise in stock prices for the Shu Family’s company.

In just a few days, the market value of the Shu Family’s company nearly doubled.

The Shu Family and the Fu Family, now related, beca the center of attention wherever they went.

Having tasted the benefits brought by Fu Siyu, and with Shu Wan accepting those property deeds, the Shu Family naturally assud Shu Wan was willing to return to the Shu Family fold.

That day, just as Fu Siyu arrived at the company’s entrance, he was stopped by Shu Yong and his two children.
