Feeling comfortable enough, I slowly slid off my hoodie for the first ti since I had entered this world.

And in my reflection...I saw a teenager with a brick-shaped piece of hair atop his head.

Sure, it covered my horns...but it looked like there was a massive cube just sitting on my head, and that was it!

Perhaps changing my hair wasn’t the way to go.

Putting back on my hoodie, I took off the ring and returned it to its place, instantly feeling my head grow ten tis lighter.

Turning around, I read a few of the nearby ring descriptions, hoping to find sothing that would transform not just my hair but the entire upper portion of my head.

"Hoot~hoot"

Surprising , the owl suddenly ca into view, flying through the section of the store I was in and abruptly halting atop one of the towering shelves.

Glancing upward, I spotted a golden bracelet that hadn’t been there before sitting inside the owl’s beak.

Making eye contact with , the owl opened its mouth wide, releasing the bracelet and allowing it to drop right into my hands.

Was it perhaps a shop assistant?

Within this world, humans could magically ta mythical beasts and even normal animals like dogs or cats, turning them into their "bonds."

These "bonds" would share a deeper connection with their human and gain conscious, allowing them to communicate and present a level of intelligence that would otherwise be possible.

Perhaps, the store owner had contracted this owl as a "bond" and used it as an unpaid worker.

The golden bracelet was cold to the touch, and as I slid it on my arm, my wrist instantly began shivering.

There was no description or instructional manual on how to use this artifact, so I simply wished.

Hide my horns.

That was all I asked it to do.

However, after a couple of seconds of closing my eyes and repeating that phrase over and over in my head, I felt nothing change.

Yet, a second later, a weird feeling surged through my body.

Usually, my hood wouldn’t even co close to my head as it would levitate above my horns, held up by them.

But, right now, a weird sensation erged from my hair, as if sothing was pressing down on it.

Turning back and rushing to the mirror, I imdiately stared at my reflection, finding a figure with no horns and a normal hoodie resting on their hair staring back.

To confirm it, I even put down my hood, and indeed, there were no horns visible.

Just my flat amber-brown hair was there.

At an absolute loss for words, I reached my hand upward and began to feel the top of my head.

As the feeling of my soft brown hair brushed against my palms, a smile appeared on my face...until sothing happened.

When my hand reached the place my left horn usually was, it suddenly halted, as if it hit a brick wall.

And a rough and uneven texture touched my palm, confusing even further.

Then, after a couple more monts of testing, I finally ca to a conclusion.

My horns...they hadn’t disappeared; they had simply beco invisible.

However, there was still a contradiction remaining.

If my horns hadn’t truly disappeared, then why could I feel my cloak touching my hair?

Shouldn’t my cloak be levitating slightly above my horns as normal, as technically, nothing had changed besides my appearance.

After putting my cloak over my head once again, I raised my hand and slid it across the top of my hoodie.

And, exactly where my two horns used to be, I felt a rough surface.

My invisible horns were sohow sticking...out of my hoodie?

Perhaps seeing my confusion, the owl, like a predator swooping down to capture its prey, flew down from its high ground on the shelf.

Then, it landed on ..? More specifically, the owl landed on my invisible horns.

And, though I could feel the owl touching the surface of my horns, when I looked in the mirror, the owl seed to not actually be touching .

"...ah I see."

My horns were invisible, and they could only be touched by living things.

This ant that inanimate objects like my cloak and clothes would simply act as if my horns didn’t exist and phase through them.

Looking at the owl, which was still perched atop my invisible left horn, making it seem as if it were floating on air, I nodded my head and said.

"I’ll take this."

And, as expected, the owl imdiately put up all eight of its fingers.

"8 silver coins...the last of my funds."

Excluding the five coins for my transportation fee, that would be the rest of my money; however, considering that it would protect my identity as a demon, it was worth it.

Taking the coins from my pocket, I placed them into my palm and held my arm up to my head, where the owl was sitting.

And, like a bird picking at its food, the owl, one-by-one, grabbed each of the silver coins from my palm with its beak before flying off.

Nodding my head at the owl, I stared at the ring and kept my hoodie up as I exited the store.

As a cold breeze rushed against my face and the night-sky, with hundreds of shining stars, ca into view, a sigh escaped my mouth.

I hadn’t gotten a sll-blocking artifact...but maybe, I could still see the fireworks show tonight.

After leaving this town, I would be stuck in the capital city and academy for a while, so I might as well see everything I can while I have the freedom.

It was weird to think about.

Within a couple of weeks, I would be back to being a normal student, attending classes and lectures while taking notes and doing howork.

Was this really what I wanted to do in this world?

If I wanted to...I could just turn my back on Glaive and run away.

I could explore the hundreds of cities all across the empire, see thousands of new things, and create unforgettable mories while traveling this new world.
