Wiping the herbs off my cloak, I returned to my seat, taking a glance at my right, but Evangel remained emotionless.

I wasn't surprised, though.

The carriage could have crashed, broken down, and even been transmigrated to Earth, and she wouldn't have had any reaction.

After all, she had just learned so big news.

She was the hero.

After becoming enlightened a couple of minutes ago while fighting the troll, Evangel had also been blessed by the God of the Sky, making her the next hero.

The odds of two heroes being within the sa family are extrely high, so she probably hadn't expected it in the slightest.

There was also a question of whether Evangel even wanted the role of hero or not.

She had watched her brother, the forr hero, sacrifice his life for the kingdom...just to fail.

Her brother had spent every ounce of his day training, studying, and protecting the citizens and people of the empire.

He was living a life that wasn't his.

Did she want to do that?

Sighing, I shook my head and looked out the window, admiring the empty grass plains and beautiful light blue sky.

Well, the hero, the demon king, and so random doctor had ended up in the sa carriage, so honestly, anything could happen at this point.

Finally, a couple of silent monts later, the towering town gates of Ezria ca into view, prompting to clutch the silver coins in my pocket.

With five reserved for my transportation fee, I had nine extra to spend on magical artifacts.

Tomorrow was September first and the deadline to arrive at the academy, so I had all of today evening free.

Who knows? If I could get a sll-blocking artifact, I might even be able to check out the fireworks at the marketplace tonight.

As the carriage ca to the halt, I got up first, pushing open the doors of the carriage and embracing the cold gusts of wind.

My body had sowhat healed from its fatigue, but I wasn't in any condition to fight.

Just as I was about to sprint off to the adventurer's guild to get a plate of food, I heard a sudden voice call out from behind .

If it were the dented and nonsensical tone of the scientist, I would have continued...but it wasn't.

The voice was...unexpectantly cold, sounding like a seventy-year-old man, and caused to halt in confusion.

"You forgot this."

Behind , in a dirty pair of blue jeans and an unzipped red jacket that revealed her white t-shirt, Evangel stood with her mouth open.

Her snow-white hair fell back under the wind, revealing her pale skin, and her pure-white pupils stayed perfectly still, not betraying a hint of emotion.

However...I could see one clue.

Maybe I was just seeing things, but her eyebrows were raised, as if she were confused or offended, as she looked at

"..."

Staring at with her outstretched hand, Evangel gestured towards the empty glass bottle before looking back at .

Honestly, at a loss for words to say, I simply nodded my head, took the bottle, and turned back with a dazed expression.

It was too late to back out of the lie now.

But...she really couldn't have thrown it in the trash for or sothing?

Speeding up, I walked towards the adventurer's guild, arriving in a matter of seconds, and pushed the door open.

As the double-doors swung open, Liana's figure imdiately ca into view, and before I could react, she rushed up to .

Then, in an agitated and aggressive tone, she imdiately held out her hand and stated.

"You know, you'd think after all I've done for you, you would make my life easier, right? But, no, you just had to miss your check-out ti, did you?"

"Well, guess who had to clean up your room, make your bed, and even search for your acceptance letter. I did!"

Grabbing my arm, she stuffed the acceptance letter into my hands before returning her fierce gaze to .

"So, what exactly were you doing? If I rember correctly, you didn't take any quests."

Confused as to why I had to answer her questions at all, I hesitated for a mont before recalling her "Daze" ability.

*WHOOSH*

While the doors swung open behind and a disgusting sll entered my nose, I reached into my pocket with the coins and said,

"I was trying to make so extra cash doing so town jo-"

Interrupting mid-sentence, a familiar voice sounded from behind , and I felt a sudden force grip my shoulders.

"Well, it was nice eting you, buddy; make sure to co by my shop soti. Hey, and if ever need sowhere to drink again, don't go to that forest; I'll take you to the best bars in the empire!"

Simultaneously, I slled sothing sweet behind , and monts later, Evangel appeared by my side with her quest poster in hand.

Not giving Liana a chance to comprehend the sudden sequence of actions, I simply pointed at Evangel and said before walking off.

"Looks like you have a custor; I'll leave you two be."

[A/N: Sorry for the short Chapter, I'll try my best to get two out tomorrow.]
