Sighing, I shook my head and hesitantly stood outside the carriage, debating whether or not I could make the walk.

They had probably just departed from the forest as well, so I knew when I saw this carriage that they were most likely inside it.

Interrupting my train of thought, a sudden shout sounded from the open window of the driver's carriage.

"Are you getting or not? Make up your mind."

In this state, it would probably take hours, if not days, to walk across the plain, so I reluctantly took a step forward.

Using the railings, I hoisted myself up, making sure to proudly display my empty glass bottle, and entered the carriage.

Imdiately catching my attention, on my right, a girl with long snow-white hair, stretching down to her waist, was sitting.

With an elbow on her leg and her head resting against her palm, Evangel stared out the window to the right, completely ignoring my entrance.

She was standing so still that I thought she could have been sleeping, and her clothes, covered with dirt and blood, still hadn't been cleaned.

On the other hand, to my left, a peculiar doctor, with a white lab-coat and round glasses, sat while curiously staring at .

To the doctor's right, a large bag, with herbs overflowing out of it, lay, and the doctor grinned while alternating glances between his bag and my drunken figure.

Sothing was definitely off with him.

Before I could even choose a seat for myself, the doctor pointed to the seat across from him, which was right next to Evangel.

The seat was big enough to accommodate both Evangel and I, but our legs would be dangerously close to touching.

As I nodded my head and bowed to thank the doctor, the carriage suddenly began moving, throwing backward.

Stumbling across the carriage, I collapsed upon the seat, sending a reverberation through the cushion, and imdiately turned my head to the left.

With everyone so close together here, my horns could easily be discovered, so I pulled my hood down further and stared out the window.

Breaking the awkward silence within the compartnt, the doctor shifted in his seat before turning to and asking.

"Off to school tomorrow, young man?"

Surprisingly, the doctor had seed to recognize that I was a child from my stature, despite most of my body being concealed.

Feeling the glass bottle in my hand grow a bit heavier, I nodded my head and muttered back.

"One last day of fun."

At that mont, I felt the cushion Evangal and I were sitting on suddenly shift.

Not daring to look away from the window, I moved my legs closer together.

She had probably exhausted all of her mana and energy in the battle with the troll, so if anything were to happen, I would most likely be able to escape.

That was...unless she had already noticed my horns and was simply waiting until we arrived at the town to tell the adventurer's guild.

As my breathing fastened, the doctor seed to notice and eagerly reached his hand into his bag of herbs.

Perhaps, he now felt indebted to the world sohow because he had gotten his life saved by Evangel.

*BUMP*

Just as the doctor opened the bag to retrieve a herb, the carriage suddenly jumped upward before rapidly descending, going over a bump.

The now-open bag of herbs flew forward, straight at Evangel, and dozens of green plants and grams of soil flooded out.

Almost instinctively, I jumped forward off my seat, positioning myself between the incoming plants and Evangel.

The carriage slled amazing with Evangel by my side.

You'd be surprised what walking around while only slling trash and garbage for a day does to a person.

But...right now, it felt as if I were walking around in a gigantic candy store with dozens of different types of flavored gummies, licorice, and gum all around .

This was one of the few tis where I didn't have to cover my nose and hold my breath.

So, I simply didn't want to ruin or lose it.

If Evangel got hit with the herbs, the sweet sll would be ruined and blocked; however, if I was hit, the scent would remain.

Anyway, I wouldn't feel anything as my cloak was sohow weightless, so I lost nothing.

As the plants crashed into and the soil splattered on my cloak, the doctor imdiately reached out his hands and caught his herb bag before it could do any more damage.

Not looking back, I simply walked straight and dusted everything off, straight back into the herb bag the doctor was holding,

Staring at with an incredulous expression, the doctor shook his head before saying.

"For... a dru-..small .child, those are so impressive reflexes. By any chance, are you an awakened?"

As I kneeled down to help the doctor close up the bag, I was open to answer when a voice suddenly sounded from behind .

"I saw him at the adventurer's guild."

Imdiately, the doctor jumped off and grabbed my shoulders.

"I knew it! You're an awakened, as well! I have the perfect mana-boosting dicine for you! At no cost at all, I'll let you try out my prototype!"

Pausing and muttering to himself, the doctor rubbed his hands together while staring at the closed bag before continuing.

"All I have to do is condense these herbs together...and in three days, it'll be done! I'll give you our shop address, it's in the right portion of the capital city. Stop by anyti and it'll be there for you to try!"
