"Is this all you got, Atreus Vermillion?"
Zeraxion’s voice resounded loudly, accompanied by a dense, blackish-purple aura that pressed down on .
The Black Star in my right palm, which had been glowing, gradually dimd as my magic power seed to be sucked away by the magical chains that bound .
"Damn it, Zeraxion...! What kind of magic could seal my magical abilities to this extent?!" I exclaid, still determined to free myself from the magical chains that bound my body.
Unfortunately, the harder I struggled to free myself, the faster my magical energy drained.
"In illusion magic, your thoughts and mories beco the target of its playthings. It doesn’t care whether you’re a high-ranking magician or even the strongest warrior; as long as the illusion magic manages to gain control of your thoughts and mories, you will follow it," Zeraxion explained my confusion casually.
He put down his book and stared at calmly with a cold gaze, as if enjoying my helplessness in the midst of his powerful illusion magic.
"...my illusion magic only transported your thoughts and mories to a ti when you were the Atreus of this world. An Atreus who has neither magical powers nor any blood ties to the Vermillion House, as you once believed."
Damn it.
I began to understand how Zeraxion’s illusion magic was ssing with my magical powers.
He forced back into the image of myself, the Atreus who had nothing, betrayed by his ex-wife.
A weak and helpless Atreus at the age of forty.
Atreus who had no magical powers whatsoever.
Those thoughts and mories grew stronger as my magical energy and Black Star weakened.
Heck, I even saw the Black Star on my right palm getting thinner, as if it were about to disappear altogether.
Zeraxion still sat quietly about 15 ters in front of , calmly watching my magical powers weaken.
"It’s only a matter of minutes... once you fully beco the original Atreus, your mories of magical powers, the Vermillion family, your success in forming vows with the Golem Terra and the Great Wyvern, and even your beloved Leysha will be gone. If I had to face a re human, it would be very easy to finish you off, Atreus..."
That bastard Zeraxion, with his cold words, made my irritation peak.
But the more irritated I beca, the weaker my magical powers beca.
This damn illusion magic was making forget so much... to the point where I forgot I’d ford a vow with the Golem Terra.
In my desperation, I used all my remaining magical power to cast the ti and dinsion spell.
A black aura exploded violently around my weakening Black Star.
I knew this was a huge risk, because once I cast this magic, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to use any other magic due to the influence of this damn illusion magic.
’WHOOSSHH...!’
"Don’t think I’ve lost, Zeraxion...!" I exclaid firmly, activating one of my strongest ti and dinsion spells, the summoning spell.
With this summoning skill, I can summon anyone in the magical world to this world just like I did to Leysha.
A large black magical circle with a star pentagram ford next to , accompanied by an explosion of black aura surrounding it.
Slowly, the magical lines emitted black light, manifesting into a gateway between my world and this magical world.
I looked at Zeraxion, who currently shocked by the magical gateway I had ford.
"Atreus Vermillion... you dare risk your remaining magical energy just to use a summoning spell like this...? You’ve completely miscalculated. Dragons will only choose soone worthy and cool-headed to serve alongside them. I know you want to overthrow King Victor Dragomir... but that doesn’t an I’ll accept your offer so easily. We, the dragons, feel you are unworthy to cooperate with...!"
Zeraxion quickly activated dispelling magic, forcing my nearly fully opened black magic gate to shut down.
"...until now, I don’t understand how The Great Wyver willingly beca your partner, Atreus Vermillion. You’re not strong enough to defeat in my illusion magic. You’re not worthy of standing alongside , Zeraxion, the dragon of ti and dinsion."
Zeraxion scoffed as my black magic gate closed even further.
But I didn’t care about his arrogance.
I continued to concentrate amidst my weakening body.
My breathing was labored as my remaining energy dwindled.
But I’m not fucking give up!
I continued to try to summon help with the black magic gate and—
"ROAAARRRR....!"
The dragon’s loud, thunderous cry stunned Zeraxion into silence.
From the half-closed black gate, the Great Wyvern’s gigantic dragon head erged, its mouth wide open.
Without waiting long, he let out the poison gas that imdiately filled the secret underground where Zeraxion and I were.
’WHOOOOSSSHH...!’
The torrent of purple poisonous gas imdiately filled the air like a thick, suffocating cloud of smoke.
Zeraxion reflexively covered his nose, but it was too late.
The poisonous gas had already been partially inhaled, causing Zeraxion to fall to his knees.
"COUGH! COUGH...!"
Zeraxion coughed up blood from the effects of the poisonous gas.
He continued to stare at , annoyed that I was still standing upright, unaffected by the poisonous gas filling the room.
Thanks to my natural immune to the Great Wyvern’s poison, I can survive with ease amidst these deadly poison.
"What’s wrong, Zeraxion? Are your knees weak? It seems you’ve been sitting in this pathetic secret underground room with your cheap illusions for too long...!" I said dismissively.
Zeraxion seed annoyed by my exclamation, but he couldn’t reply.
He was still busy coughing repeatedly until he vomited blood.
"Not yet... not yet... NOT YET, ATREUS VERMILLION...! DO YOU THINK WITH THIS TOXIC GAS I’LL LOSE...! NO! MY ILLUSION WILL CONTINUE TO CONTROL YOUR MIND AND MORIES!"
This was the first ti I’d seen Zeraxion curse so angrily.
His calm and calculating deanor was gone, replaced by the annoyance and unwillingness to lose that any arrogant dragon would.
’SMASH...!’
’WOOOSHH...!’
Zeraxion slamd both hands onto the surface, strengthening his dispelling spell, so that my black magical gate finally closed tightly, completely sealing off the Great Wyvern’s only access point to help in this world.
Damn it.
I couldn’t activate my summoning spell again due to its long cooldown.
Furthermore, my stamina and magical energy were nearly depleted.
I knelt down, sweating profusely and my chest aching.
I could feel that I had only a few minutes left before this illusionary magic would completely take over my mind and mories, until—
"Your ti is up, Atreus Vermillion."
THUD!
I felt a jolt in my heart, making my body ache and tighten.
I no longer felt any aura of magical power within , even with the Black Star on my right palm now completely gone.
My magical powers were gone.
I had so few mories of the Vermillion family that I had almost forgotten Lord Vermillion.
My body seed to have reverted to the state of a 40-year-old man with no job and no possessions.
I was back to being ordinary Atreus, without any magical power.
"You lose, Atreus..."
