I gazed into the distance with new hope. I turned to White, my eyes rimd with tears. "Thank you for the advice, White."

"It was a pleasure princess. When things get hard, rember to learn to flow with the wind." It flew up in the sky, dancing along the wind. "Just like I’m doing now."

I nodded my head. "I’ll rember your words."

"Princess, I’ll be leaving now. Farewell. And beware of that beast." It said before flying away.

"Farewell," I muttered under my breath. I closed my eyes, inhaling the fresh air.

’Maybe this is how it is ant to be. I have always wanted to explore the world... Maybe this is fate.’

The word ’fate’ resonated in my head like an echo. ’If it is fate, what could my fate be?’

I wrapped my arms across my chest. ’I need to start preparing.’

I walked back into the room. The crash of objects hitting the floor made freeze.

I stood frozen like a statue. ’Is this my room?’ My eyes nearly bulged out, seeing the ss in my room.

My clothes were thrown across the floor, my jewelries, shoes, coats, and boxes.

My blood boiled, but before I could say anything, the sound of claws scratching wood caught my attention.

I walked around the ss, arriving on the other side of the room. My lips parted in shock.

White was pawing at a small dark brown carved box he had pulled out of the wall. I was stupefied because I never knew there was a hidden compartnt in my room.

My frown deepened as I realized the box was the exact one my mother warned never to touch. But she ended up hiding it away.

’How did he find it?’ My palms turned clammy.

White ripped the cover off, his eyes fixated on whatever was inside. He looked sad and a glint of guilt and pain flickered through his eyes.

Hesitantly, he reached slowly for the object in the box as if he could not believe his eyes. His paws trembled slightly, bringing out the object.

A black bracelet.

My chest tightened.

I had never seen it before. I was sure of it. And yet... I couldn’t take my eyes off it. My feet moved on their own. I walked closer, slowly, as if pulled toward it.

"What are you doing?" My voice ca out lower than I expected.

White looked up at calmly, his eyes locked on mine like he had been expecting this mont.

He looked hopeful, as if he was expecting sothing to happen.

He just stood completely still with the bracelet balanced in his mouth.

He walked to , seeing him coming closer and the way his eyes fixated on like I was the only being that mattered to him made my throat dry.

He dropped the bracelet into my palm.

The mont it touched my skin, a chill ran up my arm down to my spine.

It was cold. Unfamiliar. But... familiar?

I rubbed my thumb across it. The surface was smooth but looked old, like it had been used before. I didn’t understand why my eyes stung or why I suddenly felt short of breath.

"What... is this?" I whispered.

No answer ca, of course. Just the soft sound of White stepping back. His gaze lingered on , intense like he was expecting sothing to happen.

I looked down again, and that sa strange ache returned to my chest.h

"I’ve never seen this before..." I murmured. "So why does it feel like... mine?"

My fingers closed around it slowly. My mother had told never to open that box. But why would she hide sothing like this from ? Why would she keep it buried?... unless it was never ant to be found?

White sat a few steps from , fixating his eyes on ... ’but did he look so sad and guilty? And why does he look like I’m his salvation...like I was the only one that mattered to him.’

My chest tightened like a mountain was crushing . "Where did you find this?" I asked, even though I knew the answer. He found it in the box. But I wasn’t really asking where... I was asking how.

My breath turned heavy and the floor tilted slightly. Then, an image of the black bracelet being placed on my hand flickered through my head.

I fell to my knees, and my hands flew to my head. I felt pain, and raw horror... fear of being burned but it never ca, only the chill from the tal welcod .

I gasped for air, my hand tightened around the bracelet. I felt like my head was being ripped apart.

"This is my brand." The distorted voice of a man echoed in my head.

I whimpered, my breath turned into a ragged ss, and my heart hurt like it was being pierced by thousands of needles.

My hands flew to the floor, and my finger scratched it in desperation. It was like I was stuck in a circle, I could rember more than that and I could not stop the image from repeating itself.

A blood-chilling scream tore from my throat, and everything went blank.

.....

(Damon/White POV)

"Get a hold of yourself, it is just a butterfly," I said to Beowulf, as he strode back into the room.

"That little thing just called us a beast, and I bet it is trying to make us look bad in front of Ember." He huffed before lying on the bed.

I sighed. "Is that a lie? If she has her mories, do you think she will be smiling at us?" My voice lowered.

"No she wouldn’t. That is why we need to win her heart before she rembers."

"I wish she would recover her mories, I know it is a disadvantage to us. I want the real her even if I have to be hated by her. I miss her."

Beowulf lowered his ears, his eyes welled with tears.
