The brute turned around, his eyes glowing light gold. He growled angrily as his gaze landed on . I unconsciously took a step back, the hairs on my body standing on their ends, his huge figure towering above , his claws elongated. Right then, I knew that this might be my end.

But then he suddenly stopped midway. He tried to move, but sothing was holding him back. When I looked down, I saw the girl desperately wrapping her arms around the man’s leg.

"Run," she yelled at .

I was so touched by her devotion, I never expected her to already be this loyal, but I wondered if I should really run away, leaving her behind, or should I fight.

Before I could decide what to do, the man kicked the girl, sending her flying, before slamming against the walls of the warehouse.

The man turned, his glowing golden eyes brooding over . Shivers ran down my spine, making take a few steps back to put so space between us.

Every step that he took made realize that I was done for.

"Stay away from ... I’m warning you." My voice cracked with fear, having a very angry werewolf walking towards in the middle of the night did the trick for to tremble, doubting my decision.

A growl reverberated from his chest. Knowing that this might be the end for , I turned around to run for my life. However, a hand gripped my shoulder, stopping from moving.

I turned to face him, my mind racing to find a leverage I could use against him. Suddenly, he raised his hand, about to strike .

"I belong to Damon!" My voice ca out sharper than intended. My ragged breath filled the air, his hand hung midair as if contemplating whether I was telling the truth or not.

He clenched his jaw, his eyes shooting daggers at . His grip on my shoulder did not loosen for a second, but I felt a slight relief knowing that he wouldn’t act rashly.

However, his hand imdiately connected to my face, which made see stars. My eyes blurred for a second, my ears ringing in my head, my surroundings slightly distorting, the tallic taste of blood spread across my tongue.

"Liar," he growled. He raised his hand again, I imdiately closed my eyes, bracing myself for the impact. It seems like I have a great affinity for getting hit now.

But no matter how long I waited, the blow never ca. When I opened my eyes, I saw his hand hanging midair. His blow was blocked by soone. When I turned to the person, my eyes watered from relief.

"Da... Master." My lips stretched into a silent cry.

Damon’s brooding gaze swept over , before stopping on my left cheek, which was struck earlier, blood streaming down the corner of my lips.

A dangerous glint flashed through his eyes. He turned to the man, who seed to be horrified by his presence, his face ashen.

"A... Alpha." His voice trembled.

Damon’s eyes flicked to the Oga who was lying on the ground, before flicking back to my face, then moving to his hand on my shoulder. His cold face turned even colder.

The man noticed Damon’s intense gaze on his hand. He quickly retracted it. "Alpha, these Ogas tried to steal from the warehouse, but I caught them as they were about to escape."

My eyes widened, seeing how he was lying blatantly through his teeth. Damon remained quiet, the silence stretched through the air, the tension was so thick that a knife could slice through it.

"Master, he is.." I imdiately shut my mouth when I saw him glaring hard at .

I was surprised and disgusted when I saw Damon stretching out his hand to shake the man’s hand. "You have done a great job." Damon said, with an amused glint in his eyes.

The man imdiately shook hands with him, delighted that he was able to lie his way out. But the next mont, a ripping sound like the snapping of a tree’s branch echoed through the air, blood gushing out like a borehole.

Silence followed before a blood-chilling cry echoed through the cool night air. The man wailed as he stared at his arms jerking on the ground, the tallic sll of blood coated the air.

Blood drained from my face as I watched the inhuman act. How could he just rip off soone’s arm?

But Damon turned to , his face expressionless, like he hadn’t just done that. "Is that the hand that he used to hit you?" He asked, his voice calm and collected.

My head shook to say no, my heart already pounding in my chest. I just realized Damon was really soone I didn’t want to ss with.

Damon turned, walking leisurely to the man who was writhing in pain, wailing as he knelt on the ground. Before the blink of an eye, his other arm was sent flying into the air. The man cried sorrowfully again.

My heart felt pain for him. He surely deserved to be punished for what he had done, and it could have be done lawfully. Why did it have to be like this?

My stomach churned, bile rising up my throat, I quickly ran away from the scene, before emptying the remaining contents in my stomach. The scene was too grueso to watch, cold beads of sweat forming on my face.

I fell to my knees. I wanted to get away as far as possible from this scene, my chest heaved heavily, the scene replaying in my head.

"Ember," Damon’s voice echoed in my ears. My body imdiately stiffened, my trembling fingers curled tightly around my dress.

"Y... yes master."

"Co here." He called, his presence as suffocating as ever.

I got to my feet, walking toward him. I wiped away the remaining traces of vomit and blood with the edge of my sleeve.

When I got to where he was standing with one of his hands tucked in his pocket, he raised his other hand. Imdiately, I closed my eyes, my body tightened, waiting for his blow.

Surprisingly, I felt a pat on my head, his touch was warm and gentle, he began to caress my hair. My eyes imdiately snapped open. "This is what they get when they touch sothing that belongs to ." He uttered with a satisfied smile.
