As Ren stepped into the teleportation gate, a ripple of shimring blue light enveloped his body.

The world around him twisted and blurred as if space itself was folding.

Then, in the blink of an eye, the light vanished, and solid ground returned beneath his feet, revealing a beautiful, vast valley.

’A valley?’

Ren didn’t see Asher fighting against Evil Asher because the teleportation gate would send the participants to different places to ensure that no one could interfere and cheat on the test.

’What is the test on this floor?’

When he was about to explore the valley, a young man appeared and approached him.

’Hmm?’

A strange sense of familiarity washed over him as he stared at the approaching figure.

The way he walked, the color of his hair, and the clothes he was wearing: everything mirrored him perfectly.

The difference was that his expression was sharper, his eyes burned with a dangerous glint, and his very presence felt like a looming shadow, stretching and eager to consu anyone who dared to annoy him.

’It’s ?!’

Ren was startled when the figure before him ca into sight.

’No. Maybe it’s a magical beast.’

There were many magical beasts with unique skills or magic in this world, so he imdiately assud that the figure in front of him was a magical beast.

’System, analyze him.’

He said in his head.

Several seconds later, his system finished analyzing the figure in front of him.

[Host, that figure is not a magical beast. It’s indeed you. He is created from the evil side of you.]

’He is created from my evil side?!’

Ren was shocked again.

’Then, the trial on this floor is...’

Ren understood the test right away when he knew the identity of the young man before him.

[...to battle against yourself.]

Evil Ren stopped walking and spoke, "We finally et, Ren. Or should I say... my other self?"

[Host, you have to take this test seriously, and you have to kill him imdiately.]

’Why do I have to kill him? Isn’t he ?’

Ren knew who Evil Ren was, so his desire to kill disappeared without a trace because he didn’t want to kill himself or the being created from a part of him.

[He will replace you if you lose against him.]

He fell silent, but he still refused to fight Evil Ren.

"You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for this, Ren," Evil Ren was not lying when he said this because he was unhappy with the way Ren had been living his life lately.

"Why?" Ren inquired.

Instead of answering Ren’s question, Evil Ren asked, "Do you rember our dream?"

"Of course!" Ren answered instantly.

"Then why did you waste ti instead of training? Why did you spend so much ti with those won?" Evil Ren referred to Scarlett and Lexie when he said this.

He then continued, "You haven’t even absorbed all the beast cores we collected from the war. If I were in control, we would be much stronger now. You are squandering our potential and wasting our ti, Ren."

Ren remained calm despite seeing his anger. "Do you rember our past life? No one was even by our side when we were bedridden. I don’t want to feel that loneliness again."

"But you should not spend ti with them all the ti. How can we make our dream co true if all you do is spend ti with them?" Evil Ren wanted Ren to prioritize power over companionship because they would never be able to achieve their dream if he continued to spend so much ti with his won.

"How can I strengthen our relationship if we only spend a little ti together?" Ren knew that spending a lot of ti together was the best way to strengthen their relationship.

Of course, he was aware that it reduced his ti for training, but he needed to sacrifice one thing to gain another.

"You’ve let so much ti slip away, Ren. You even plan to give them a powerful skill and magic. What if they betray you later?" Evil Ren raised his tone.

Ren could not answer his question this ti because he didn’t know the future.

"You can’t answer it, right?" Evil Ren said, "Then let control our body. I will make us stronger quickly and beco the Ruler in a short ti."

"Then what? Do you want us to feel lonely again?" Ren inquired.

"Lonely? We won’t feel lonely at the top." Evil Ren believed this because many people were willing to follow those in power. "Let take control of our body. I will make all races bow to us in no ti."

Ren didn’t say anything and stared at Evil Ren.

Evil Ren clenched his fist. "I’ve watched you waste away day after day, distracting yourself with weak emotions. I’m you, Ren! I know what you really desire, even if you deny it!"

"Then, you should know that I desire a partner too." Ren responded.

"To hell with won!" Evil Ren responded, "They will only distract us from pursuing our dreams! They are nothing more than chains, people who will limit and restrain us."

"You know what? My life has beco more colorful and happier since I t them. No matter what happens, I will stay with them. You will know how right my decision is in the future." Ren didn’t want to feel what he felt in his previous life, so he chose a different path to chase his dream this ti.

"Then, it seems like I have to make you disappear." A sharp gleam flickered in Evil Ren’s eyes as he reached for his sword.

*Cling...Clang...Cling...

The sounds of tal clashing against tal echoed as the duo fought at high speed.

Wherever their battle raged, the earth shattered, and trees toppled like dominoes.

If the awakeners were on the seventh floor, they would definitely open their mouths in shock because their fight was as fierce as his fight with Zephiron.

Boom!

Ren’s body crashed against a big stone after getting kicked by Evil Ren.

Evil Ren didn’t attack Ren again; instead, he closed the distance at a leisurely pace as if their battle was nothing more than a re ga.

"See! You’ve grown weaker ever since you got involved with those won," Evil Ren sneered. "If you had trained as relentlessly as you did in our past life, you would be far stronger by now."

Ren wiped off the blood from the corners of his lips and rose to his feet. "As expected of a being created from , you are truly amazing. I felt like I was hit by a bullet train when you kicked ."

Evil Ren’s expression darkened, especially at the sight of Ren’s smile.

"It seems like I need to put you into eternal rest." After saying that, Evil Ren rushed toward Ren, launching another attack.

Then, the duo fought again.

And like before, their fight destroyed everything around them.

The grasslands turned into a devastated field, and the sound of explosions echoed every second.

Evil Ren attacked Ren non-stop because he wanted to take over Ren’s body.

"Your existence ends here, Ren." Evil Ren roared as he swung his sword forward.

Ren didn’t say anything and mimicked the motion, striking as well.

As their sword tips neared each other, Evil Ren felt a sharp pain in his head, causing him to lose focus and stop.

’No!’

His eyes widened in terror as the tip of Ren’s sword was close to his head.

To his surprise, Ren stopped his sword just before it could pierce his forehead.

He didn’t attack Evil Ren, and instead, he leaped back, putting distance between them.

’System, what’s wrong?’

He was curious about what had happened to Evil Ren.

[Host, the system attacked his mind earlier, unleashing a surge of excruciating pain.]

His system said he could attack Evil Ren because their souls were connected to each other.

’I see.’

Ren finally understood everything.

"Why did you stop?" Evil Ren was shocked by Ren’s decision because it was a good opportunity to kill him.

"To be honest, I don’t want to kill you." Ren answered, "I don’t even want to fight you."

"Why? Wouldn’t it be better if I disappeared?" Evil Ren still didn’t get it.

"No. You are wrong because I need you to make our dream co true." Ren knew that his evil side was essential for achieving his dream.

If he only had a good side, his future would be utterly dood.

For example.

Without his evil and cruel side, he would always forgive his enemies and would not kill them.

His dream was to be the Ruler.

It was a path where he would face countless powerful beings from all races, so showing rcy could beco a boorang to him.

That was why he didn’t want his evil side to disappear because one mistake could have cost him his life and his dreams.

Even though Ren didn’t explain everything in detail, Evil Ren understood it. "We failed to beco the Ruler in our previous life. That was why I was furious when you prioritized your won lately."

"Don’t worry. Everything will be different in this life. Everyone will bow before us in the future." Ren slowly lifted his head to look at the sky. "I won’t let anyone or anything stop us this ti. If the heaven tries to stop us again, I will make the heaven bow as well."

Evil Ren’s lips curled up into a smile because he was satisfied with Ren’s answer. "Then, I will let you continue to control our body."

"I promise, I won’t let you down this ti." Ren uttered.

"Don’t neglect your training, Ren." With those final words, Evil Ren’s body shattered into countless fragnts, rging with Ren’s body.

Ren touched his chest and mused, "I won’t."
