I stared at him like a fool, trying to understand what the hell he was saying. "What do you an? Are you feeling alright?" I glared at my stupid system that doesn’t know when to play, and when to keep things serious.
"I would have been here a day ago, to tell you the good news, but I had to complete sothing with the other systems. That was why I didn’t make it on ti!" He clapped, "but it’s not too late now, is it? You are a week pregnant, Brys. I noticed it the last ti I visited, but I had to be certain before I speak of sothing," he winked at .
I scoffed, "there is no way I can be!"
"Yes, you are. You happened to be one of the golden Ogas, whatever the hell that is. It’s not as if I know." He flicked his now long hair, "you are pregnant. It’s confird." He clicked on his blue tablet, and I saw my data. Under it were red highlighted bold words.
A WEEK PREGNANT.
"It’s confird! You are!"
"But, it’s... It’s impossible!" I tried to deny it. There is no way I can be pregnant. I’m a man, for crying out loud! I have a damned dick and no womb.
"In their world, it’s possible for golden Ogas. You happened to be one, though this has never happened to the other hosts. You are the only one who has gotten pregnant before."
"But... What of the mission? Am I going to remain here because I’m pregnant?" I stared at him, hoping he will nod. If being pregnant ans I can stay with the correct Storm, then, I won’t mind at —
"No. Being pregnant changes nothing. You still need to complete your missions by travelling through the world to help each Storm until he returns to his original body. Else, he will go insane and destroy the world."
"Then, my baby?"
"Will be safe. Each world you leave will be paused. Your baby will be paused in it. When you complete your tasks and return to Earth, you will have your baby."
"What the hell does that even an?"
"You can call it a hatchery. That is where we will keep your babies until your tasks are completed. You can visit it at will, to check on your babies, but you will only be with them when all your tasks are completed."
"So, my baby will be taken from , sa with Storm?" I stared hard at him, trying to will him to tell that I won’t be separated from my family.
"You have to understand, this mission is important to Storm," he leaned down and placed his hand on my cheeks. "You will get to be with him in each world, get to know the differences between each of them. Most of them are going insane by the day. You are what he needs. Staying in one world won’t work because when the others are destroyed, this world will be extinct."
I stared at him, "Can I take my pregnancy? Like, don’t remove my baby." I pleaded, not ready to part with sothing Storm and I produced. I placed my hand on my lower stomach and stared up at him.
"You can visit your baby at will. Unlike in your stomach, you will be able to see your baby grow. It will be a wonderful experience for you, you will get to see your baby grow until it’s ti to take him." He smiled at , gently rubbing my cheeks. "Trust , you will understand why your baby needs to be removed from your stomach. The other words won’t have a love-struck Storm. You will need your strength to be able to persevere."
I rubbed my stomach, heartbroken at the thought of letting them remove it. "When will it be removed? Now?"
"No. It will be removed the mont you leave this world." He smiled at , "you will get to have a remarkable ti with Storm until his love increases."
"Thank you," I smiled at him. "I guess I will have to break the news to him. He will be thrilled." ...To know that he’s going to be a father soon, but not thrilled that I will leave this world.
It’s not as if I will tell him of this.
Yet, I have this desire to let him know who I truly I’m before I leave. This way, he will know who I am. I can’t bear to part with him without telling him about .
I need him to know why I have to leave.
"Then, have a wonderful day, Brys. I can’t believe I’m going to be an uncle!" He twirled in the air. "You are the best host ever!" He dramatically wiped a tear from his eyes, "you have made the happiest uncle ever."
He disappeared, but not before winking at .
Imdiately he left, the door to the infirmary opened, and Storm entered. He raced to the bed he kept on, and knelt on the ground, holding my hand.
"The nurses are coming. They are —"
"There’s sothing I need to tell you, Storm." I smiled down at him.
"What’s wrong? Don’t tell you are going to —"
"Shh," I placed my finger on his lip and smiled at him. "I have sothing I need to tell you."
"What’s it? Are you okay?" He placed his hand on either side of my face.
"Yes, I have good news for you. I’m not sick. It’s sothing else," I grinned, unable to keep my smile in place.
"What? What’s it?" He rose from the floor and sat on the bed. Despite the smile on my face, he looked nervous.
"You will be a father soon, Storm."
"What?" He looked shocked. He gaped at like a fool, trying to understand what the hell I was saying.
I took his hand, and placed it on my stomach, staring into his eyes, not breaking eye contact with him.
"I’m pregnant."
