Bry's POV
It turned out soone took the books to the teacher.
I almost ran mad when I didn't see the books where I left them.
Had it not been for the stupid Storm who asked to check with the teacher, I wouldn't have known that the books has already been taken to the teacher.
For five days now, we have been training for the competition.
Unlike the comic, we were told that all sexes will join the competition.
Instead of having only the Alphas and Ogas in the ga, the Betas will join.
The first part of the ga is a survival one. We have to go through the forest in three days, searching for the hidden treasures the teachers buried.
As the forest is vast, everyone will have to fend for themselves.
Luckily enough, twelve students only will be dispatched to the forest. And there is a high possibility that I won't be chosen.
Unlike the others, my wolf is yet to make an appearance. Hell, I don't even think it will make an appearance until we graduate.
After the first ga, is the second one. This is the one I will sign up for.
Why?
Because I read about it in the comic. With my knowledge of the maze, it won't be difficult for to find an exit.
The third and the fourth is the brain gas. Those are compulsory for all students. Even if you don't wish to be among them, you must be.
"Hello."
I blinked.
For a mont, I forgot where I was.
I was too lost in thoughts, to pay attention to my surroundings.
"Hello."
The voice called out once more.
I blinked before I slowly raised my head, to know who was calling.
"Oh."
Standing in front of is the sa Oga I saved five days ago.
Since that fateful day, I've not seen her, so I believed she might have either forgotten or didn't want to have anything to do with .
Though I wasn't complaining.
"My apologies for interrupting your studies." She nervously tugged on her skirt.
Today, she's putting on the general uniform we wear every Wednesday. Her long blonde hair is tied up in a ponytail, with a few strands let out in the front.
"It's no worry." I grinned, "how is your ankle?"
"Good." She flexed her left leg. "See? It's all good."
"I'm happy to know that," I nodded. "So....." I trailed off, not knowing what to say.
"Have you had lunch?" She glanced down at her shoes.
"No, I've not. I'm waiting for my roommate. He's supposed to be here long ago." I glanced around the field.
To wait for him, I decided to read in the bleachers. Well, that was until my thoughts deviated to the ga that was coming up soon.
"Why don't I wait for him, with you?" She sat next to .
"Are you certain? We might end up not going for lunch should he delay any further. You shouldn't miss your lunch because of this." I tried to get her to know what she was into should she decide to wait with .
"It's alright. I will wait." She smirked, "you don't have to worry about . Moreover, I had a heavy breakfast. If I don't eat lunch, I can eat dinner." She tucked the strand of hair she let out in the front, behind her right ear.
"Hmm."
I forced a smile. "Let's wait for him, then."
"What are you reading?" She gave my book a long, curious glare.
"I'm trying to read through the last topic about reproduction." I blurted out, without thinking of my words.
Funny enough, when I read the comics, Brys never read such a book. Or maybe, he did, but the author skidded over it.
What I only read was about his love for Storm and nothing else. It seed like his life revolved around Storm.
"What's difficult to know about that?" She raised a brow at .
"Like, how can male Ogas be the sa as females?"
Though a male Oga can reproduce with a female Oga or Alpha, should he have a male lover, they can also reproduce.
"Don't tell you weren't taught about that during your elentary studies?" She gasped.
"Well," I shrugged. "My grandma was the one who taught . I only got a chance to speak with others when I ca here. I've only been to the town a handful of tis."
"Oh, that's sad."
She looked like she was about to shed a tear.
"It's not a problem." I grinned.
Brys is the one who she was supposed to feel compassion for. I'm just a host who read about him.
"So, do you need to teach you about that?" She nervously glanced at the textbook.
"No, you don't have to do so." I closed the book. "Though it was difficult at first, I'm getting the hang of it."
"Not all male Ogas are like that." She whispered.
"What?" I blinked. "What do you an by that?"
"The male Ogas who can reproduce are known as the golden ogas. Only two of such ogas have been found." She motioned to the textbook. "It's written in there, just to preserve history should, in case another golden Oga isn't found."
"Wow."
"Hmm. The last golden oga was mated to the Alpha of the Dark Night. He was the father of the current Alpha. Unfortunately, he died when his Alpha died."
"How do you know so much?" I folded my arms.
"You would have known the sa had you studied in the town."
Though I didn't show it, I was glad she decided to help out.
I won't lie, when I read about male oga's ability to reproduce, I was scared out of my wits.
Thankfully, she explained it.
"So, how can you know the golden ogas?" I glanced around as if the said Ogas will jump in front of the mont I asked such a question.
She shrugged, "the textbook didn't ntion that. And neither did our teacher elaborate on that. But you don't need to worry. You are not a golden oga." She blushed.
"How sure are you about that?" I pursed my lips.
"You are too manly to be one. Besides—"
"Brys!"
Ray called out to , perfectly cutting her words short.
"It's ti for lunch." I stood up. "Let's go," I hastened towards Ray, with Star close behind.
"What took you so long?" I narrowed my eyes at him.
"The teacher asked to help her with so things. You don't need to..... Wait a minute, who's this pretty oga with you?" He raised a brow. "Don't tell you've gotten a girlfriend behind my back?"
Star blushed, while I rolled my eyes at my stupid friend.
"Ray, et Star. She's the Oga I told you about."
"Wow!"
Ray whistled as he took both of her hands in his. "You are more beautiful than he claid you were. Oh my, I feel like I'm looking at a reincarnation of the goddess!"
"Thank you." Star blushed as she removed her hand from his.
"Quit acting like a love-struck fool. We are late for lunch." I snapped at him.
"Just a re look of this goddess was what it took, to fill my belly. I will—"
I hit him on the back of his head. "If you don't stop this foolery, I will leave you here!"
He smirked, "you don't have to be so hung up. Let's go, darling. It's ti for lunch."
Star stayed next to until we arrived at the cafeteria. It was as if she were afraid to go near Ray, who seed to be invested in her. However, the mont we stepped into the cafeteria, he made a mad dash for the line, while Star and I sought an empty table.
As our luck will have it, all the tables in the cafeteria were filled up. There wasn't a space left.
"What do we do now?" Star sighed.
"Nothing. Let's wait for Ray to get our lunch. We can eat at the bleachers."
"Oga!"
At the sound of his familiar voice, I turned to see Storm waving at .
His table was close to where we stood, and aside from the Alpha sitting next to him, there were three more chairs.
"Co and sit over here for lunch." He patted the chair next to him. "I will let you sit next to ."
