Chapter 401: Dumb Aliens (1)
Chen Yu felt as if he had slumbered for hundreds of billions of years.
By the ti he woke up, Earth’s “past events” appeared distant and fuzzy to him.
Beep!
A crisp, electronically synthesized sound entered his ears, causing him to shudder involuntarily. He then subconsciously looked at the cara, his mory recovering gradually.
“I’m…back?”
[The UP must’ve turned stupid.]
[Dammit! I got killed by a toppling building again!]
[I got burned to death. You guys should’ve seen the spectacular sight of the sky and ground falling apart! It was super cool!]
[And here I thought a black hole would appear directly inside Earth… Dislike.]
[Dislike 1]
[Pick 10 this ti! 10! 10! 10!]
[10 is the alien invasion, right?]
[Dammit! I just realized we could increase our life expectancy through these events! Why did I die so quickly?! 囧囧囧]
[Ditto.]
[I’m different from you people. I haven’t had my fill of dying yet…]
Amidst the flood of bullet comnts, Chen Yu noticed that not only did the livestream’s viewership not decrease, but it had even increased instead. In the blink of an eye, it had gone from 340 million to 550 million!
“…”
Rubbing his aching temples, Chen Yu sorted out the words in his mind and said hoarsely, “We have returned to reality once more. That’s the fourth dungeon we’ve completed. Honestly, getting swallowed by a black hole feels terrible. I had the feeling as if I was being torn apart by ti. I think I should rest for a while. How about we stop today’s livestream here?”
At these words, the number of bullet comnts appearing in the livestream rooms instantly skyrocketed.
[What bullsh*t are you spouting?]
[Please don’t be a man who’s short and quick.]
[One more ti! Just one more ti!]
[Just one more ti! Let’s at least experience an alien invasion! I want to see what aliens look like!]
[I was just about to feel sothing, yet you suddenly want to take a break? Bah, h.]
[I feel offended…]
Raising his wrist and looking at his audience’s overwhelming refusal, Chen Yu sighed and nodded, saying, “Fine. We’ll try out one more disaster. Like before, post your choices in the bullet comnt section. Three, two, start!”
Three seconds later.
“OK, stop!”
[??]
[???]
[I haven’t even had ti to click enter!]
[Are you even human?]
[Dislike!]
“Like before, it seems everyone’s choices are concentrated this ti as well. As a professional reviewer, I am naturally willing to satisfy the audience’s wishes.”
While spouting a bunch of nonsense, Chen Yu used his feet to press the Natural Disaster Generator’s start button. He then chose the [10. Destructive Invasion By Alien Civilization] option.
Ten seconds later, the virtual nu lit up with a familiar red, indicating that the disaster had taken effect already.
Boom!
Activating the E·I Force Field, Chen Yu straightened his mask and restrained his exhausted spirit. He then flew out of the floating castle for the fourth ti and hovered in midair as he waited for the hostile alien civilization’s arrival.
Many scientific researchers believed that any event that had occurred once on Earth would’ve happened millions and billions of tis before in the vast universe.
Hence, seeing that Earth had successfully given birth to a self-conscious and constantly evolving intelligent civilization, this ant that there must be many more similar civilizations hiding in the boundless universe. So of these civilizations might even be spying on humanity’s every action in secret.
For this reason, humanity had spent a lot of energy, financial resources, material resources, manpower, etc., to find evidence of the existence of alien civilizations. However, the best result humanity had gotten thus far was so indistinguishable information of UFOs.
It wasn’t until half a year ago when Chen Yu discovered extraterrestrial creatures on Europa, one of Jupiter’s moons, did humanity verify the existence of life outside of Earth.
Afterward, Chen Yu had also used a telescope from the future to capture the image of Tabby’s Star’s Milky Way Internet, revealing the existence of alien civilizations to the public. This allowed even more ordinary people to know about the existence of life outside of Earth.
Now, the viewers inside the livestream rooms would finally get to witness one of these so-called alien civilizations with their very own eyes. Hence, everyone couldn’t help but grow eager and prepare themselves to broaden their horizons.
…
At the sa ti…
Arica, New York, Observer’s Conference Hall:
The various nations’ representatives had received an order from their superiors.
This included the middle-aged team leader from China.
“Have all staff teams abandon their analysis of Chen Yu and focus on observing the oncoming aliens, huh… An excellent decision.”
Lifting his head, the middle-aged team leader passed his tablet to Big Sis Wu and said, “Take my authorization and gather teams 1, 2, 3, and 4. Have everyone focus on researching the aliens’ technological standards, thought process, and invasion thods and construct a sociological model based on the results. Make sure to have everyone rember every bit of information in their heads and record the results as soon as they return to the real world!”
“Understood. What about Target A?”
“Ignore Chen Yu for now. There’s nothing we can do about him, anyway. Concentrate on the bigger picture.”
“Leader…” Hesitantly, Big Sis Wu said, “Isn’t it bad to speak Target A’s na directly…”
“Let’s be honest.” Pointing at the people inside the hall, the middle-aged team leader said, “Apart from the janitors, who here doesn’t know about Chen Yu’s identity? It is indeed true that those in our line of work need to be cautious, but there are tis you should loosen up a little as well. If you restrain yourself to the rules, you’ll only remain as a tool forever.”
“…Got it.”
Bzz! Bzz! Bzz!
At this ti, a harsh buzzing sound echoed throughout the hall. Imdiately afterward, a series of garbled texts appeared in the bullet comnt section, suppressing the other viewers’ normal bullet comnts.
[ZZZZJDFHS!]
[FKfjka咔Khfg…]
[%*kfjkf…]
After the garbled texts continued for half a minute, a video call request appeared on the screen.
“It’s here!”
Without any need for reminders, everyone present in the hall realized what was going on. Imdiately, they tensed their spirits and stared at the main screen without blinking.
“Notify the staff teams to stop sorting through other materials! The aliens are here!” the middle-aged team leader said sternly. “Have everyone focus their attention on the aliens!”
“Understood!”
…
“Is this a call from the aliens?”
Looking at the video call request coming from the livestream room, Chen Yu couldn’t help but frown and look up at the sky.
Apart from the bright sun, he couldn’t see anything else in the blue sky. “They should still be outside of Earth, right?
“Friends, if my guess is correct, then this call request should be coming from the aliens invading us. I don’t know whether they are calling to declare war or show off their power, but keep your eyes wide open. The subsequent scene will be a magical one.”
After saying so, Chen Yu swiped his finger across his watch and accepted the call.
Bzz, bzz, bzz…
Another series of electromagnetic noises appeared in the livestream rooms. Following this, a strange, black and white image appeared on the screen.
According to human aesthetics, the image resembled a tentacle with spikes.
While hovering in midair, Chen Yu carefully observed the symbol displayed on the screen. Clearing his throat, he said, “Hello. Are you aliens? Well, that’s probably a pointless question. Modern Earth technology shouldn’t be capable of interfering with my livestream’s bullet comnt section.”
“Bzz, bzz…”
“Hello? Say sothing, will you?”
“Bzz, bzz, bzz…”
“Can you adjust your frequency and call again? Don’t you find this to be embarrassing?”
“Bzz… Hello…”
After the buzzing sound continued for a dozen seconds or so, the other party’s voice gradually beca clearer. At the sa ti, a “face” had also appeared on the black and white symbol!
“Hello… Bzz… Ruling creatures of Earth…”
