The Godspark Mountain Range was expansive, covering several thousand kiloters of land. The entire thing had not been confined within the walls of the Scenario Quest, but it still encompassed an area of approximately two thousand kiloters.

There was a lot to see and explore. There was no way to guarantee that the clues they were looking for would be anywhere near them.

Nevertheless, the best thing for them to do imdiately upon the creation of this Scenario Quest was to explore the area around them.

The monsters raged for roughly an hour before things started to quiet down.

The streets were covered in corpses and a large portion of the city had been polluted by their presence. Many smaller buildings had been torn apart, leaving only those taller than two stories to tell the tale of the city.

Not every monster died. Only the weakest of them were eliminated in the chaos. The rest were still walking through the streets or flying overhead. So had left the city to find new environnts that suited them.

"We won’t be sward anymore, so we’ll be fine. We don’t have to be afraid of combat."

Gio led his party down the stairs of the apartnt building and back outside.

"If there’s anything we know, it’s that the topic of this Scenario Quest is ’history.’ We should head to locations where we can learn more about it."

"What, you an like a library?" Shiro asked.

"City libraries are a good choice, but that’s only for basic history. It wants us to uncover secrets, so we should primarily look for governnt offices and office buildings that belong to huge conglorates."

Essentially, they needed to look at the sa official docunts influenced by people with status and power. Within those docunts, there could be flaws. The history books provided to the public were webs that had already been perfected.

"Gio, wait."

Serene called out before they could make it very far from the building.

"I want to be sure about the suppression. Can we find sothing to fight first?"

He raised a brow in mild surprise before nodding.

"Why not? It’s always good to warm up a little."

He had surety, but he still needed to prove his words to the others. Shiro and Neriah were willing to take the risk of not speaking up unless they had to, but they were more than happy to hear Serene bring it up.

The four of them stuck to the sidewalks and kept their bodies shaded by the skyscrapers. The first monster they saw was a giant standing equal to so smaller two-story buildings.

It looked like sothing they’d avoid in most cases, but when they saw it...

"I’ll go first. You guys can join when you feel like it’s safe."

Bang!

Gio rushed forward and spread his arms. Two wings of armored feathers appeared at his back, and when he threw his arms forward, they shot out from all directions and slamd towards the massive beast.

It looked like a cyclops other than the fact that it had three eyes. The virtual feather blades surrounded it and cut into its skin from every angle.

From Gio’s average fighting experience, he fully expected those feathers to do no damage at all. Even with suppression, he knew there was a big difference between him and the average monster in this ecosystem.

He wasn’t entirely wrong, but he was wrong.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

The feathers struck their target and sank into its flesh, exploding into bursts of blue energy. The cyclops roared out in pain as black blood flew into the sky.

’They’re only flesh wounds, but imdiate damage?’

Gio questioned it as he jumped into the sky.

[Siege Armant]

’Either he’s weak or this suppression is crazier than I expected.’

[Burst]

Boooooom!

A firestorm of bullets and explosives besieged the cyclops. Its three eyes were blinded, forcing it to wildly swing at the enemy it had not yet seen.

However, Gio was nowhere near it.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

He could sll the burning blood from within the explosions. The cyclops’ flesh was being torn apart by his energy.

And he wasn’t the only one present.

[Golden Cot]

Boom!

A ball of golden flas slamd down into the virtual blue storm and erupted against the skin of the one within.

By the ti the energy from the explosion dispersed, there was a shadow at the cyclops’ feet.

Shing!

Neriah drew her swords and swung powerfully at the monster’s ankles, cutting deep into its flesh. Once the hole was open, she brought her arm up. The earth was willed to rise into a stake that impaled itself into the wound she created.

ROOOAAAAR–!

The cyclops roared and threw its leg out, attempting to kick her away. However, the earth itself shifted Neriah away, leaving it to strike nothing but air. It also didn’t seem to understand what she’d done to its other leg.

When it landed, it tried to regain its balance, only to collapse on the foot it could no longer feel and hit the ground.

Boom!

It swung its fist out, scraping and unearthing the concrete. The re wind was enough to push Shiro back several steps, making them aware of the strength of their enemy.

It wasn’t weak. It could do the sa amount of damage to them in a smaller period of ti if they gave it a chance.

They couldn’t give it a chance.

At the sa ti, the three of them struck. Neriah jumped onto the cyclops’ face and stabbed two swords into her eyes. Shiro reached for its side and sent flas into its rib cage. Gio used virtual energy to bind its arms and legs.

And to add the final touch, Serene pushed forward and sent a green-tinted bubble into its wide-open mouth, filling its lungs and stomach with poison.

If it was able to survive, it would be better to call it a miracle than a monster.

However, there were no miracles for this monster. It had no choice but to succumb to its wounds and beco a foaming ss on the ground before eventually losing all of its vitality.

The four of them stepped away. Gio looked at his comrades with a very clear look in his eyes.

Serene rolled her eyes.

"Don’t say it."

"I really want to say it, though?"

"If you don’t say it, we’re more likely to not say anything back."

"What could you possibly have to say back?"

"There are a million things I could say about your forehead alone. Don’t test ."

"..."

Gio opened and closed his mouth several tis without ever figuring out sothing to say.

’Is my forehead that big?’

He shook his head.

’Wait, that’s not the point.’

The existence of the suppression effect had been proven to a better extent than he hoped for.

"Split up?" Shiro asked.

"Moving alone is risky, but if you think we would get things done faster in groups of two, then we can do that," Gio responded.

If they were this equal to their enemies, traveling as a large group at all tis was inefficient.

Gio went with Serene since he was the most experienced and Neriah tead up with Shiro.

They moved across the city in search of the locations that would best suit their purposes, and within ten minutes, Gio and Serene found themselves in front of a building that couldn’t be anything other than the City Hall.

The question now was whether there was even anything worth finding in this city or not.
