Chapter Nine

"Show what proof you have and I will give in to your demands." With that, she hung up the call, feeling a small sense of satisfaction at being the one to end the conversation this ti.

A nagging unease crept in, like a whisper in the darkness. Was she truly satisfied? Or was it just a fleeting sense of victory? The questions swirled, but before she could grasp the answers, a voice pierced the silence.

"Boss," Asli spun around, her expression expectant, eyes narrowing. "What is it?" she asked curtly, her tone masking the turbulence within.

"What is it?" she asked curtly.

"A parcel just ca in and it is addressed to you. Do you want us to call the bomb squad?" Her instincts prickled. Who would send her a package?

Her instincts flared, prickling her skin. Who would send her a package? "A parcel for ? Interesting!" The words escaped her lips, laced with skepticism; she almost didn't believe it. Asli had no admirers and no one to send gifts. If it were addressed to Lisa, maybe. But her? It reeked of danger.

"Any card?" she asked, mind racing. Which Mafia Lord dared send her a warning? "Call the bomb control team. Let them see..."

"There is a card," the man replied, his voice cautious. "The parcel is from Mr. A.H. Should I open it?" The man's words quickly cut her off.

Asli's thoughts begin to screech to a halt. A.H? Who was that? Her mind echoed the question, a shiver running down her spine.

'A.H? Who the hell is that?' Who the hell was A.H.? She had to double ask herself. 'Is it Aht? He wouldn't dare!'

"Boss... do you..." her subordinate began, caution lacing his voice.

Asli's glare cut him off. "No. Leave it there. I'll check it out later."

The man hesitated, "Boss, it could be dangerous, and I..."

Asli's eyes flashed, daring him to continue. "You what? I dare you to say it again."

The subordinate swallowed hard. "Sorry boss."

Asli snapped, her tone icy. "Good." Her eyes flared at the man. The man swiftly placed the box on the floor and fled, leaving Asli alone with her turbulent thoughts.

She approached the box cautiously, conviction growing: this could only be Aht's doing. No parcel had ever arrived and was addressed to her, and now, after their tense encounter, this mysterious package appeared.

The sender's na is A.H.? Though Aht's surna didn't start with H, Asli's instincts scread it was him.

She angrily picked it up and tore the wrap as her eyes blazed while she ripped open the package, her instincts confird. The lingerie spilled out, a provocative reminder of Aht's audacity.

He sent it to her. Was he being stupid or plainly bold?

She looked around and once she confird she was alone, she took it out of the box. She paced, fury fueling her strides. "How dare you!" she seethed, her voice barely audible.

Aht was crossing too many lines, too many boundaries.

She went closer to the box again and in it was a little card. 'You left the little gift and so I thought I'd send it to you. Can't wait to see you in it tonight.' She read silently.

Asli's hands trembled, shredding the card.

She tried to steady her breath. Oh, she was going to kill him... tonight.

'Tonight,' she hissed, her thoughts darkening.

She left the room imdiately and headed out when the clock ticked 8 pm. In her car, she left the Villa without saying a word to anyone. She didn't want them to see how helpless she felt.

"Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in..." Suddenly, she slamd the brakes, leaped out, and unleashed a primal scream; "Arghhhhhhhhh!" She scread and hit one of her car tires at the sa ti.
