Chapter Ten
Asli's mind raced, replaying all their earlier conversation. "How did he get the upper hand?" she wondered, frustration simring.
'Did the bastard call to find out if she received his package? Why didn't he ntion the package when he called?' The questions swirled.
'You left the little gift, and so I thought I'd send it to you. Can't wait to see you in it tonight.' the words on the card she had read, reminded her again.
He knew she was coming tonight. He knew she was going to co. A painful laugh left her mouth. And a chill ran down her spine. She was on her way, wasn't she?
"I'm walking right into his trap, aren't I? No, I won't be the one being played in this ga. I can play his ga. I can have him losing his own ga. I can... I will take pleasure in biting his head off.' she suddenly assured herself.
"He thinks he can undermine , use sex as leverage. He wants to break , own , and make his little plaything. But he's wrong."
She paced while she thought of an idea to turn this over on him. There was an enemy who wanted to belittle her rank. A rank she worked so hard for.
"I'll let him think he's winning, then strike. I'll use his arrogance against him. I'll turn his ga into his downfall. I will show him I have the upper hand, and I'll make him regret wanting to play with in the first place."
Asli slid back into her car, the soft leather enveloping her, a harsh contrast to how she was feeling. She grasped the steering wheel, her hands tightening.
With a deep breath, she started the engine and eased onto the road, headed toward the familiar location where she last t Aht.
And while she drove, her gaze drifted to the passenger seat, where the discarded parcel lay, its wrapping torn and discarded.
The lingerie.
The parcel seed to mock her. Her eyes narrowed.
"I'll turn your ga against you," she spoke to the parcel. The city lights blurred outside as she drove by.
Either she killed him or he killed her. Whatever way it was, only one of them was stepping out of that room.
