Sure enough, Alison’s face turned as ugly as pig liver, glaring at Aurelia Shaw, then glaring at Mason Nightshade.
t with his cold look, Alison hurriedly withdrew her gaze, biting down on her teeth in frustration.
All of a sudden, she rembered who this man was!
The man who once took the campus by storm, yet only appeared for less than a month!
She rembered back then Aurelia Shaw liked this man, and now these two?
How could it be! A woman like Aurelia actually managed to land such an outstanding man.
Alison grew even more jealous. She looked at Mason Nightshade and said, "Do you know? Back in school, this woman stole my boyfriend. And not just my boyfriend—if any of her friends had a boyfriend, she’d steal him too."
Mason Nightshade raised a brow, lowered his head to look at Aurelia, his gaze full of pampering. "Really?"
Aurelia actually thought it over quite seriously. "Mm, what she said isn’t exactly false." Though it was those guys who were fickle, wanting to have several boats under their feet at once.
The corners of Mason’s lips hooked up into a proud smile. "You’ve always been this charming."
"You... you two..." Alison hadn’t expected this kind of outco, her eyes widening in anger.
Mason didn’t bother with her again, and clearly didn’t want Aurelia to waste ti on that kind of person either. His face went cold as he wrapped an arm around Aurelia’s waist and led her away.
After Aurelia got in the car, Mason turned to Amanda Fuller and said, "Aurelia’s car, I’ll trouble you to drive it back. Also... your brother called just now. I didn’t tell him where you were. When you get ho, he might ask you."
Amanda’s eyes filled with grateful tears. "Male God, I am so so so so thankful to you, you’re literally my savior!"
If her brother found out about tonight, she could probably forget about going out at night ever again.
...
Once Mason got in the car, Aurelia asked, "You didn’t tell Foster Fuller?"
Mason said lightly, "No."
Aurelia smiled. "He’s probably guessed anyway, right?" Taking another look at Amanda’s excited face outside, Aurelia sighed helplessly. "Amanda is so naïve, she’s going to get swallowed whole sooner or later, isn’t she?"
As soon as the words fell, Aurelia suddenly felt a cold gaze envelope her.
Her heart gave a lurch. Thinking of sothing, she looked up and t Mason’s gloomy eyes head-on.
What had to co still ca.
"You said you were going to chase ?" Mason’s lips curled as he asked.
Aurelia hadn’t expected that to be his opening line. She froze for a second, then nodded on reflex. "Mm."
"This is how you chase ? Back then you had no experience; I put up with it when you tried that whole ’kidnapping the village husband’ routine. But it’s been so many years—don’t tell you not only didn’t improve at all, you even regressed." Mason’s face was dark; he was very angry about what happened tonight.
Village husband? Aurelia thought hard. Was she really that... savage before? A bit domineering, sure, but she rembered herself being very gentle and attentive when she was chasing Mason.
"What did I do?" Aurelia asked in confusion, then sighed and explained, "Robert and I are not close. I figured you wouldn’t believe anything Alison said anyway. I hadn’t planned on coming here tonight; I only ca because Amanda was here.
I used to do this kind of thing all the ti back then..."
"Back then you weren’t chasing . Right now you’re the one who said you wanted to chase , so you’re responsible for what you said." Mason looked at her.
Aurelia felt like he wasn’t telling her to be responsible for her words, but to be responsible for him.
"Oh." Aurelia nodded. "Then how am I supposed to take responsibility?"
"First of all..." Mason said slowly, "you’re to keep at least one ter away from any other man."
