[Lavinia’s POV—Imperial Palace—Two Months Later]

After the execution of all the traitors, the empire finally found peace.

New nobles were appointed. Old wounds were stitched with law and fire, and sohow—between councils, parchnts, and sleepless nights—two months vanished like smoke.

Now, the night before my coronation had arrived.

The bells of Eloria had been ringing for weeks at dawn, not in warning, not in fear. But in triumph.

Their sound rolled through the capital like waves of gold, washing over streets that had once whispered treason and now shouted loyalty.

The world was preparing for its Empress.

And ?

I was standing in my chamber, half-dressed, lost in thought—PUSH.

I gasped as Haldor suddenly shoved backward onto the mattress. The soft sheets caught , and before I could protest, his shadow fell over .

He lifted my legs slightly as he stepped closer, his voice low and dangerous with emotion, "Do you need to drive insane every ti you appear, Lavi?"

I laughed softly and pulled him down by the collar, wrapping my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist.

"Well..." I murmured, eyes glittering, "I never knew my husband was this sensitive. Who knew just standing in front of you would undo you so easily?"

He chuckled, brushing a loose strand of hair behind my ear with trembling fingers, "Your presence is enough to make lose control."

My breath hitched.

I leaned up and pressed a soft kiss to his lips—slow and teasing.

"Then," I whispered, "shall we do sothing crazy?"

His ears turned red instantly, but his smile turned wicked. In one smooth motion, he lifted fully onto the mattress and leaned over , his voice rough with promise.

"Then don’t bla for back pain when you sit on the throne tomorrow, my Empress."

I laughed, and before another word could escape, his lips claid mine.

Not gentle.

Not rushed.

Deep.

His kiss carried everything—fear, love, pride, and the weight of tomorrow. My fingers slid into his hair as his arms wrapped around like he was afraid I might disappear.

The world outside faded—no bells, no empire, and no crown.

Only us.

His forehead rested against mine as we breathed the sa air.

"Tomorrow," he whispered, "the world will kneel to you."

I touched his cheek, my voice soft but unbreakable. "Tomorrow, I beco Empress. Tonight... I am only yours."

He kissed again—slower this ti, reverent, as if sealing a vow with his lips—and beneath the distant bells of Eloria, under moonlight and silk sheets, we held each other like the storm could not touch us.

Because tomorrow, I would rule an empire, but tonight—I was simply Lavinia, and he was simply mine.

His arms tightened around , pulling close until there was no space left between our hearts.

"You always frighten ," he admitted quietly. "Not with your power with how deeply I love you."

I laughed under my breath. "A crown prince afraid of love? How tragic."

"No," he said, serious now. "A husband afraid of losing his future."

I looked up at him. "Future?"

His hand moved to my waist, gentle, protective.

"Our future," he said. "An empire that is not built only on blood and fear... but on sothing that can live beyond us."

I felt my chest tighten.

"You an..." I whispered.

He hesitated, then smiled shyly. "A child. One day. Soone who carries your fire and my loyalty."

My heart skipped.

I placed my palm over his chest, feeling his heartbeat.

"Do you know what kind of world they would be born into?" I asked softly.

He kissed my knuckles. "A world ruled by their mother."

I laughed quietly, but my eyes burned with emotion.

"Do you think the empire is ready for that?" I teased.

"They will have no choice," he replied. "They already survived you."

I leaned closer, resting my head against his shoulder.

"Then maybe..." I said slowly, "this night will beco more than just a mory."

He brushed his lips against my temple, "Then let it be the night the future began."

We lay together beneath the silk covers, not in haste, not in chaos—but in warmth. His arms wrapped around as if shielding from the weight of crowns and fate alike.

Outside, the bells of Eloria rang again—soft this ti.

And in that quiet chamber, with his hand resting over my heart and mine over his, I felt sothing strange and new.

Not fear.

Not ambition.

But the fragile, powerful thought:

Tomorrow I will be Empress... but I also want to beco a woman who is loved by her husband.

I closed my eyes and whispered into the darkness, "Stay with , Haldor."

"Always," he answered. "For the throne. For you. For what cos after."

And in that night of crowns and promises, love planted its first seed in the empire of Eloria.

[Lavinia’s POV—Imperial Palace—Coronation Morning]

The palace did not wake that morning.

It roared to life.

Bells thundered across Eloria from every tower, every temple, and every gate. Their sound rolled through the capital like a tide of gold and fire—announcing not war, not mourning, but the birth of a new reign.

Servants ran through marble halls with silk and jewels in their arms. Knights stood in double rows, armor polished so brightly it reflected the sunrise. From the balconies, citizens filled the streets below, waving banners stitched with my sigil.

The empire was breathing my na, and in my chamber—Sera stood behind , hands trembling as she lifted the heavy imperial cloak.

"Your Highness... no—" she corrected herself with a nervous smile, "My Empress."

I t her eyes in the mirror. She was no longer just my lady-in-waiting. She was the next heir of House Aureolmont. Her back was straight. Her gaze steady. Power had settled into her shoulders like armor.

"You look like you’re about to faint," I teased.

She swallowed. "Because you look like soone the world is about to kneel to."

The coronation dress lay across the bed like a battlefield banner—deep crimson velvet threaded with gold runes of the Devereux line. The weight of it alone felt like history.

Sera helped step into it, carefully fastening each clasp.

"This dress was worn by the first Empress," she whispered. "No one has touched it in centuries."

I lifted my chin. "Then it is ti it rembered blood again."

She slid the golden belt around my waist, her fingers careful but proud.

"You changed everything," she said softly. "Two months ago, I was a daughter with no future. Today, I am an heir."

I looked at her in the mirror.

"And today," I replied, "you stand beside an empress. Do not forget that power is not taken. It is proven."

She nodded, eyes shining. "I will not fail you."

A knock echoed.

The doors opened slowly. Rey entered first, robes shimring with magic threads. Behind him, Theon and Ravick stood in full ceremonial armor.

"The empire waits," Rey said quietly. "The crown has been awakened."

Sera lifted the final piece—the imperial crown veil—and placed it over my hair. The mirror no longer reflected a princess.

It reflected a ruler.

I stood.

The room felt smaller—not because I had grown taller, but because power filled every corner of it. The walls that once held my laughter as a child now echoed with the weight of destiny.

And as I stepped out of the chamber, I smiled warmly.

"How are you, Papa?"

He turned toward slowly; pride lived in his eyes.

Marshi stood beside him, flas faint and gentle around his mane, as if even the divine beast understood the aning of this mont. Papa folded his arms, studying from head to toe, and then gave a soft huff.

"Hm... now that," he said, voice rough with emotion, "is my dearest daughter, who will beco an empress in any second."

I chuckled and rushed forward, wrapping my arms around him.

"Thank you, Papa," I whispered against his chest. "Thank you so much for being my Papa."

For a heartbeat, the Emperor of Eloria vanished. There was only a father. He kissed my forehead, slow and careful, the way he had done when I was sick as a child.

"And thank you," he said quietly, "for being my daughter."

Then he stepped back and looked at again.

"Now..." his voice steadied, strong once more, "shall we go?"

I nodded, and he stretched out his hand. I took it, and together, we began to walk down the hallway. The sa hallway where I once ran barefoot toward him.

The sa hallway where I used to argue with him over sweets and lessons and bedti. The sa hands that taught how to walk.

The sa man who cut enemies’ throats like bread slices on the battlefield... yet held with infinite gentleness whenever fever burned my skin.

Every step echoed with mory. Today, I walked beside him toward the throne, the throne where I once sat on his lap.

Today, I was taller; today, his hair carried more silver, but this palace—this throne—would always rember us as we were.

A father who ruled with blood and fire, a daughter who grew from his shadow into his successor.

The doors of the throne room opened, and light flooded in. The roar of the empire reached my ears, but in that mont, all I felt was his hand in mine.

Steady.

Unbreakable.

No matter how many crowns would rest on my head... I would always be his little girl walking beside him toward destiny.
