Her heart slightly moved.

The feelings that had once danced at the tip of her heart, now long lost, seed to rekindle, stirring restlessly.

She restrained them, saying calmly, "Many things, if they aren’t satisfied at the ti, even if achieved later, won’t bring the original feeling anymore."

"What were your original feelings?"

He suddenly stopped walking, turned to look at her intently.

She was taken aback, then chuckled after a while, saying, "I originally thought that Christmas would be such a good opportunity to seduce you, it’s quite a pity. But it doesn’t matter, I ultimately achieved my goal, didn’t I?"

His eyes narrowed slightly, his expression colder than before, like snow.

He loosened his grip on her hand slightly.

In the depths of winter, the temperature had already dropped below zero.

The two didn’t walk for long before returning to the car together.

"When exactly are you going to sign the divorce papers?"

Claire suddenly asked.

Tristan Lockwood paused his grip on the steering wheel, "I won’t sign."

"If you don’t want to sign, then agree to one condition."

He glanced at her indifferently.

Claire Hale: "I want you to give Jade Sutton back to Sean Lockwood."

Tristan Lockwood’s face turned cold.

"You are not qualified to negotiate conditions with ."

"Then let’s divorce."

He turned his head, she leaned against the window, her words were calm, but showed a determined stance.

"Tristan Lockwood, your uncle is now causing trouble for . He wants to find a way to make Jade Sutton leave you, otherwise, he’ll target my firm. What do you think, apart from persuading you to let go, what other ways do I have? Otherwise, I can only escape this ss, go far away."

Actually, even if she escapes, it’s likely she’d still be retaliated against by Sean Lockwood.

But Claire Hale was at her wit’s end.

Since Tristan Lockwood was unwilling to divorce, she could only grasp this little bargaining chip and leverage it against him.

"Since you have already witnessed Sean Lockwood’s ans, you should understand that if Jade Sutton goes back, it would not end well for her."

"That is what their married life behind closed doors entails, it has nothing to do with "

Claire responded without much tact.

Tristan Lockwood looked at her indifferently, his voice cold: "When you took money from Sean Lockwood, why didn’t you think it had nothing to do with you."

Claire Hale’s expression tensed.

He continued: "There’s no such thing as a free lunch in this world, you should’ve realized this when you took on this ss for him. He’s a businessman, taking money from him ans there will be an equivalent, or even greater price to pay. I can only say, you brought this upon yourself."

"I brought this upon myself?"

She suddenly turned to look at him, a smile tugging at her lips, but her gaze turned cold: "You’re my husband, not only do you not stand by my side, but you also stop from dealing with Jade Sutton, is this also sothing I brought upon myself?"

Tristan Lockwood: "If you deal with her now, you’re sentencing her."

"So you can just disregard my life."

Her gaze was intense, anger surging beneath her eyes.

He withdrew his gaze from her.

With silence, he answered her.

...

Tristan Lockwood’s indifferent, biased attitude was sothing Claire Hale had gotten used to over the years, so she was too lazy to say much to him.

What worried her was Sean Lockwood’s side.

Since Sean Lockwood had already made it clear to her that he knew Jade Sutton was with Tristan Lockwood, it ant he wouldn’t give her much more ti.

He might even start targeting people at her firm any day.

After much thought, the only support she could find was from Elder Lockwood and the Lockwood Matriarch.

Coincidentally, Tristan Lockwood sent a ssage inviting her to visit the elderly with him that evening.

Upon arriving at the Elder Lockwood’s residence, Claire Hale discovered it was because the Lockwood Matriarch was unwell.

"Grandma, the last ti we ca back, you weren’t feeling well either. Why not have a full dical check-up?"

Claire Hale sat at the grandmother’s bedside, her face filled with concern.

The Lockwood Matriarch leaned against the headboard, coughed a couple of tis, and said with a kindly smile, "It’s just a minor cold, no need to make a fuss. What I’m most worried about now is not being able to hold my great-grandchild, can’t you and Tristan make an effort?"

Tristan Lockwood, who had just finished a phone call nearby, said to the Matriarch, "The hospital arrangents are made; you’ll go for a check-up tomorrow."

After saying this, he glanced at Claire Hale.

Claire Hale held the Lockwood Matriarch’s hand, "Grandma, I’ll accompany you."

The matriarch glared at Tristan discontentedly, about to speak when the butler knocked on the door and said, "Madam, the young master is back."

Claire Hale only realized it referred to Sean Lockwood when she saw him co in.

However, the Lockwood Matriarch remained calm, only nodding faintly when Sean Lockwood greeted her.

In fact, there was a degree of excessive coldness in her response.

As for Sean Lockwood, he was even more distant, exchanging a few words before heading downstairs.

Claire Hale chatted with the Lockwood Matriarch for a while, and after the elder fell asleep, she quietly left.

Downstairs, Byron Lockwood sat in the main seat of the sofa, with Tristan Lockwood and Sean Lockwood in individual chairs on either side.

Byron Lockwood first looked at Sean Lockwood.

He asked, "How is the company you’re taking over now that you’re back in the country?"

"The dividend funds from last month’s foreign investnt have arrived, and the amount is considerable."

For Sean Lockwood to use the term "considerable," it ant the profit was huge, at least in the billions in dividends.

Byron Lockwood nodded with satisfaction.

"However..." Sean Lockwood shifted the conversation, "The managent models and processes of the dostic company are too cumberso, I’m reforming them."

Reform implies an adjustnt in the company’s personnel structure.

Past relations and new ones would undergo significant changes, and the various interests involved would experience upheaval.

Sean Lockwood said he was in the process of reforming.

As opposed to preparing for reform.

Such words weren’t seeking approval but rather a direct notice.

As expected, Byron Lockwood’s expression turned cold.

Sean Lockwood said calmly, "Now that you’ve handed the company over to , you should have anticipated that I would eventually change the managent model."

"I see you’ve stayed abroad too long, overly admiring that so-called free spirit!"

Byron Lockwood scolded Sean Lockwood briefly.

Yet there was no note of objection in his words.

He evidently acknowledged his approach.

Soon after, he looked towards Tristan Lockwood, asking, "Why haven’t you and Claire shown any progress?"

Tristan Lockwood, absent-minded, replied, "What progress?"

"Of course, letting the old man hold a great-grandchild!"

Byron Lockwood was irked by Tristan’s nonchalant attitude.

But Tristan Lockwood remained unmoved, lazily glancing at Sean Lockwood, smiling, "Grandfather, why don’t you urge my uncle?"

Byron Lockwood: "He doesn’t even have a wife, where would I urge him?"

Claire Hale, standing by the staircase, was suddenly shaken.

The Lockwood Family was evidently unaware of Sean and Jade Sutton’s marriage.

No wonder Sean Lockwood wanted to find Jade Sutton, but made no move himself.

"Claire, why are you standing there, co sit down."

Byron Lockwood noticed her at the staircase and indicated the seat beside Tristan Lockwood.

Claire Hale walked over, and as soon as she sat down, Tristan Lockwood placed his hand on her slender waist.
