Clink clank boom bang, clink clank bang bang.
The sound of walls being taken down, tiles pried up and holes dug for piping was heard banging and clanking rrily away in one corner of the house.
That’s right, the bathroom expansion work has started.
In fact, it had started two days ago.
My familiars, Fer, Grandpa Gon, Dora-chan and Sui have already escaped to the garden when they saw the workers coming in with their various tools. Instead of enduring the banging sounds of construction work, they prefer to nap sowhere far away from the noise in this nice warm weather.
As for , I remained in the living room, just in case Bruno-san wanted to consult with about sothing.
I must say, my [Net Super] earplugs were very useful during the construction period. I had already found a nice bath from Illario’s that matches the bathroom décor well and had just handed it to Bruno-san this morning. The bath is ant to go in last it seems.
Right now, I am currently seated in the remains of a dressing room. [1] Honestly, I’m not sure why people would want such a large dressing room for? Does it double as a massage parlour or spa location or sothing? Anyway, I’d rather have a larger bathroom, so it made sense to take the space from the dressing room.
Speaking of which, the original bathtub was already so kind of gaudy, heavily gold-plated monstrosity with an ivory base and colourful flowers painted on the top and outside.
The new one from Ilario looked sort of similar?
Anyway, what’s most important matter is the size. I want Grandpa Gon to be able to sit comfortably in the tub. So long as the base colour is sort of cream-ish, it should match the rest of the room nicely.
That was my consideration going into Ilario’s, but who would have thought that they would have an extra-large bath in cream with red and pink flower patterns?
I bought the tub on the spot for 540 gold.
I’ll admit it, I was sold by the price more than anything else. Apparently, this particular tub had been sitting around for a long ti, gathering dust until I ca along. The clerk was very happy to sell it to , and I was happy to purchase this giant tub for a reasonable price.
In short, it was a win-win purchase.
Ah, now that I really look at it, the flowery bathtub seems a little too cute for a dignified dragon like Grandpa Gon…
At sunset on the sa day, Bruno-san called over.
“We’ve kept you waiting, the construction of the bathroom is now complete,” said Bruno-san with a proud smile as he opened the bathroom door.
“Oohh~~ it’s definitely wider than before~~”
In fact, it was about twice as large as the original.
[1a] Instead of replacing the original bathtub, Bruno-san’s team had dug a deep hole, laid down the pipes and set the extra-large tub into the floor like a half-sunken hot tub. I must say, it certainly looks more balance than having a totally sunken tub or one that stood on its legs. The half-sunken design ant that half of the cutesy flowers were hidden away. However, that was a plus for since it looked less tacky that way. To match the other bathtub, Bruno-san even had one of his better painters put so gold accents on the flowers to give them a bit more class.

“Excellent, perfect, wonderful,” I said dutifully as I was given the tour. I’m really impressed by their work, it really did only take them two days after all! “As expected of a Dwarf.”
“Gahahaha! But of course!”
“As promised, please take this,” I led him to [1a] what’s left of the dressing room, much smaller and neater looking now with its new walls and a neat shelving unit lined with whisky. There were 20 large whiskies all in a line, looking very fancy and expensive in their cut glass bottles.

Of the 10 people who ca in to work the majority of them were Dwarves. There were also a couple of Beastn and a human mixed in, but all of them were unrivalled heavy drinkers.
I gave each worker two bottles of whisky per day for their labour. Yesterday’s portion had already been collected [2] by the original five workers…

“Ou, we’ll be having a drinking party tonight, co with us, Mukouda-sama!”
“Ah, um, I’m fine. I can’t drink very much, so you’ll have to drink on my behalf,” I said with a shaky smile. I can drink, but not to the extent that these beings could. Besides, I wanted to enjoy the new bathroom~~
“Eh, well, more for us! Gahaha! Anyway, let know when the land’s been cleared, eh?”

“Shall we try it out?” I asked, itching to subrge myself in the huge tub. I’m sure Grandpa Gon won’t mind sharing…
“Hold it!” Fer barked. “Feed us first!”

“Oh yes, I’d prefer to eat first.”

“”at!!””
“Fine, I guess you guys are all food over baths, eh?”
It can’t be helped, they are gluttons for food after all.
After a dinner of Gigantic Minotaur at in pickled miso on rice (a travel al that I had already prepared in advance), Grandpa Gon, Sui, Dora-chan and I made our way to the bathroom.
By the way, I served the nicely browned at on sliced lettuce leaves over rice, with a sprinkle of white sesa seeds. I must say, the visual effect was quite stunning. It really made gulp when I looked at it.
Grandpa Gon seed to really like it too and kept asking for seconds.
Right, back to the baths.
Naturally, I invited Fer, but…
“You may go if you like, I’m going to sleep.”
And that was that.

Looks like everyone was enjoying the newly renovated bathroom.
Naturally, everyone showered first, including Grandpa Gon. [3] I busted out the deck brush while Sui helped hose him down.
It still felt rather surreal to be washing a dragon with a floor brush in a towel… [3]

Nothing like stretching in a hot bath after a vigorous workout. I really outdid myself polishing Grandpa Gon’s scales with the deck brush.
The air was saturated with the scent of yuzu and my toes tingled from the carbonated bath salts.
