Minamoto Tamako snorted, just short of having steam billow from her nostrils. In a hurry, she changed shoes and went out alone.

Taira Sakurako held up a video cara, the lens panning with Minamoto Tamako, and as soon as the door closed, she quickly pulled the lens back to Fushimi Roku, sowhat resembling a professional docuntary photographer.

Fushimi Roku sensed the cara and put down the magazine abruptly, eting Sakurako’s gaze through the video cara’s display.

With a snap, Sakurako closed the cara, pretending nothing happened.

But Fushimi Roku kept staring at her, which made her a bit uncomfortable, so she took the initiative to change the topic, saying, "Impressive, you just t the father-in-law and already managed to anger your girlfriend back to her parent’s ho."

"What’s so impressive about that?" Fushimi Roku asked, expressionless.

"Weren’t you doing it on purpose?" Sakurako was genuinely surprised. "I thought you found her annoying and sent her back to the Kujo Family for a couple of days of peace."

Fushimi certainly didn’t do it on purpose; he rarely loses control of his emotions, and this ti was truly acting on impulse.

Irritated, he threw the magazine on the floor and recalled that he was influenced by the idea that "Minamoto Tamako might leave"... ultimately blaming Taira Sakurako for spreading anxiety and unsettlent, riting severe punishnt.

Fushimi harshly criticized Sakurako again and confiscated her mory card, then lay back down to continue reading the magazine.

Sakurako observed for a while and switched to recording with pen and paper, tactfully probing, "Aren’t you going to go after her?"

"Go after what? Do you think this is a romance drama? Let’s talk about it tomorrow," Fushimi picked up the magazine, flipping through it idly. "You’re right; it’s indeed peaceful with her not around."

...

anwhile, on the other side, Minamoto Tamako was on the way to her grandfather’s house, feeling like a mix of the little match girl and Little Red Riding Hood.

She was sullen all the way, and when she t her cousin whom she used to dislike, her mood worsened.

Even after many years, the cousin remained detestable, wearing exaggerated sailor suits, her phone covered in stickers, with three or four charms on the chains, skin tanned dark, looking less like soone in their twenties and more like a delinquent high schooler.

When Minamoto Tamako arrived, the young delinquent didn’t speak and played with her phone, occasionally letting out laughs. Tamako sat awkwardly for a while, attempting to start a conversation repeatedly, but the other party ignored her, showing no interest in exchanging "girl talk" to bond.

If she didn’t want to chat, then why call her over?

Minamoto Tamako couldn’t figure it out, and asking got her nowhere, leaving her increasingly sullen.

In fact, the young delinquent wasn’t as rebellious as she seed; at least she listened to her grandfather, who asked her to call Minamoto Tamako back without questioning why.

As the two sat awkwardly in the dining room, Kujo Mutsumi had changed clothes, once again donning the haori and kimono, sitting in the tatami room brewing tea, waiting for the person he wanted to see.

A while later, footsteps were heard in the corridor, and the attendant opened the sliding door. A sullen-faced man walked in, knelt in front of Kujo Mutsumi, and bowed his head in greeting, "Father."

The visitor was none other than Kujo Hikari.

He should have been at the courthouse preparing for a trial, yet he returned ho, even lacking the electronic shackle on his ankle.

Kujo Mutsumi made an indeterminate ’hmph,’ added a few pieces of charcoal to the stove, and placed the kettle on it, quietly waiting for the water to boil.

Kujo Hikari waited three to four minutes, with only steam visible from the kettle spout and no sound, he couldn’t hold back any longer, and started to say, "Father, I....."

"Shut up!"

Kujo Mutsumi sharply rebuked.

His face was old, wrinkles like chisel marks, but when he slowly lifted his eyes, they still glead sharply without any murkiness. "Look at the ss you’ve made, putting the Kujo Family to sha! Even Little Wei was smarter when she was seven! You can’t even handle her daughter, yet you still call father?"
