Zhuang Ruolan asked Xiang Wei, "Why was Yueyao frightened when she went to the Zhou Residence as a guest? Did sothing bad happen there?" Zhuang Ruolan even wondered if soone from the Zhou Family had taken liberties with Yueyao.
Xiang Wei was also clueless, "Madam, I really don’t know what happened." Xiang Wei didn’t keep anything from Zhuang Ruolan and told her about the incident that had occurred at the entrance of the Zhou Residence.
Zhuang Ruolan frowned, feeling that the two n at the entrance were sowhat odd. After returning to the Main Courtyard, Zhuang Ruolan had soone inquire about the backgrounds of these two n.
Seeing that Yueyao had gotten out of bed, Xiang Wei didn’t insist she lie down, but simply asked, "Miss, didn’t you say you would tell what happened when you got back? Miss, can you tell now?"
Upon hearing this, Yueyao’s expression darkened. After a while, she said, "I recently had a nightmare where I encountered a man. Following as if possessed, he was insistent on marrying only . However, he’s a rchant who has long been married with children; how could I possibly marry him? Yet this person has both money and power. If he couldn’t get his way overtly, he would do so covertly. Taking advantage of my being out, he had soone kidnap , then changed my na and took to Sea City. With maids and old nannies watching over day and night, I couldn’t even seek death, living a life worse than death in Sea City."
Xiang Wei found this sowhat amusing, "Miss, it was just a nightmare."
Yueyao gave a bitter smile, "The man in that dream is the sa man I t today, wearing cyan clothing. You might not believe it, but I even know his na. His surna is Zhou, nad Zhou Shu, the greatest rchant in Sea City."
After a short pause, Xiang Wei said, "It’s just a coincidence! Miss, you’re frightening yourself."
Yueyao gave a bitter smile, "After that nightmare, I also found it ludicrous. How could a rchant, no matter how rich, dare to act so recklessly? But eting this man today truly terrified . Xiang Wei, the day I dread that my uncle t with an accident, I didn’t expect that he really did face a major disaster, but fortunately, Master Xuan Tian helped avert this calamity. Xiang Wei, I dare not rely on luck. What if this man really is audacious? How would I cope?"
A bloodthirsty look flashed in Xiang Wei’s eyes, "Miss, rest assured, if this man really dares to think along such lines, I’ll make sure he has nowhere to bury his body."
Yueyao was still very afraid, "Xiang Wei, go and find several people with great martial skills. Otherwise, I dare not step outside."
Xiang Wei nodded, "Okay." Xiang Wei kept this matter in mind, waiting for a chance to investigate this man.
Zhuang Ruolan was more efficient than Xiang Wei this ti. By that afternoon, Zhuang Ruolan already knew the details of the two n Yueyao had encountered. One was Ninth Young Master of the Zhou Family, the legitimate third son of the third house, and the other was the great rchant Zhou Shu.
After finishing his business with Zhou Jiu, Zhou Shu paused at the doorway upon leaving the Zhou Residence. After returning to his residence, he entered his study and after a while commanded his personal attendant, "Go find out everything about Third Miss Lian, spare no details."
Inside the study, unable to concentrate on anything else, Zhou Shu’s mind was filled with that captivating image. He knew his status did not match hers, yet he couldn’t control his thoughts.
Zhou Shu’s attendant returned by evening and reported everything he had found out about Third Miss Lian.
Zhou Shu’s expression beca grim.
Zhou Shu’s personal attendant, Ah San, whispered, "Master, although Miss Lian is beautiful, there are many others just as beautiful in this world." Having been by Zhou Shu’s side for many years, Ah San understood his nature. This was the first woman who had caused their master to lose his composure. But if Master fancied a commoner or a rchant’s daughter, he could easily marry her. However, Yueyao, being from an official’s family with a strong backing despite her parents’ demise, was completely untouchable.
Zhou Shu coldly stared at Ah San, causing him to imdiately shrink back.
Zhuang Ruolan pondered over the incident of Yueyao being frightened for most of the day, and by evening, she discussed the matter with Ma Peng. Ma Peng felt Zhuang Ruolan was overthinking it, attributing it to just an accident, hardly sothing to be scared by.
Zhuang Ruolan, however, held a different view, "Husband, you also ntioned that those great rchants sailing the seas always encounter pirates."
Ma Peng, not understanding the point, still nodded, "That’s true." Although Ma Peng knew that mariti business was very profitable, he was not one to take risks. Since mariti business brought high profits with high risks, he did not support Zhuang Ruolan engaging in such trade.
