Yueyao and Mingzhu didn’t take the incident of beating people to heart. After playing outside and getting tired, the group returned.

In the evening, a young servant stumbled in and said, "It’s not good, a group of people outside are shouting and fighting."

Mingzhu, extrely angry, laughed instead: "How dare they co to us with violence? Co, give them a good beating." She was always the one bullying others, never had she been bullied.

Before long, Xiang Wei ca in and said, "The leader is the nephew of Jiangnan Provincial Governor Lord Zeng. He is now tied up. How should we handle this?"

Mingzhu frowned; dealing with the Jiangnan Provincial Governor was indeed tricky.

Yueyao, however, calmly said, "Let their people go back and send a ssage, ask Lord Zeng to co personally to take him away."

Mingzhu hesitated a bit. The one causing trouble was just the nephew of Lord Zeng, not his own son. Would demanding an apology be accepted?

A subtle smile appeared on Yueyao’s lips: "Don’t worry! The Provincial Governor will co to apologize. His nephew may be a fool, but Lord Zeng is not. Although the teacher is old, he has friends everywhere. Once this matter spreads to the Capital City, the one nad Zeng will face the consequences."

Xiang Wei explained to Yueyao that this Zeng Da is a playboy, relying on his uncle’s status as Provincial Governor to bully the weak and commit countless wrongs.

That night, the Provincial Governor did not co to the Dong Residence. Yueyao didn’t mind, accompanying the children with writing before busying herself with her own affairs, then going to bed at the usual ti.

Mingzhu ca to Yueyao, saying they should make so preparations for this matter. Mingzhu was not afraid of this Provincial Governor, but as the saying goes, a strong dragon cannot suppress a serpent in its lair, and making more preparations is always good.

Yueyao nodded and then said, "Mingzhu, it is not convenient for you to intervene in this affair; involving yourself would only complicate matters." The political scene in Jiangnan is not monolithic, with many factions. Niu Yanghui being a Magistrate in Suzhou may have strong backing, but things won’t always go his way.

The next day at noon, the Provincial Governor brought gifts to apologize.

Mr. Yu Shan did not et the Provincial Governor, so Yueyao represented the teacher. Yueyao, looking at the imposing Provincial Governor, appeared very indifferent: "Yesterday, your nephew smashed the gate of my teacher’s house. What does the Governor have to say about this?"

The Provincial Governor was deeply angered by his nephew, yet he had to smile and say, "Lady An, rest assured, I will quickly have soone repair it. This was all my nephew’s fault, please feel free to make any requests."

Yueyao’s expression was cold as she said, "No need for requests, just hope the Governor can properly educate your nephew not to smash doors so readily." After saying this, Yueyao raised the teacup beside her.

The Provincial Governor did not look pleased, but it was clear they wanted to end the eting, and staying any longer would only be embarrassing.

The Provincial Governor’s nephew had been detained since last evening, hadn’t had a drop of water, and wasn’t allowed to use the restroom. When brought out by the guards, he slled quite foul. Upon seeing the Provincial Governor, he wailed, "Uncle, help ! Uncle, help !"

The Provincial Governor felt he had lost all face.

After the Provincial Governor left, Mingzhu ca out and said, "Yueyao, won’t the Provincial Governor retaliate against you?" After all, the Provincial Governor holds a high position, and as they say, a strong dragon cannot suppress a serpent in its lair.

Yueyao laughed, "Don’t worry! He doesn’t have the guts." Jiangnan has a strong literary culture, and scholars are highly respected. People like her teacher are especially revered. If the Provincial Governor dares to retaliate against the teacher and her, it will be he who faces the consequences, not them. The Provincial Governor knows what he can do and what he can’t. Of course, even if the Provincial Governor wanted to retaliate, Yueyao wouldn’t be afraid.

Mingzhu laughed, "I didn’t know you were so bold! Daring to offend a Second Rank Official so easily, even I would have to think it over!"

Yueyao chuckled. She had only asked the Provincial Governor to co and fetch the person, she hadn’t done anything unpardonable. What was there to fear?

Mingzhu shook her head with a smile, "This isn’t ignorance is bliss; you are boldly confident. Do you think I don’t know what you’re thinking? In Jiangnan, figures like Mr. Yu Shan, who are revered by everyone, are put on a pedestal; who would dare offend them? That Provincial Governor’s nephew was foolish enough to lead people to smash Mr. Yu Shan’s gate."
