Chapter 1176: Chapter 504: Joyful Monts (2)

Mingzhu looked at the carriage and curiously asked, “Aren’t we just going fishing nearby? Where are we going?” Taking a carriage indicates it’s quite a distance.

Yueyao laughed and said, “West Lake has ten major scenic spots. Today, we’re going to Wind Lotus Garden.”

Mingzhu was aware of the ten scenic spots of West Lake: “It’s a pity that I have to return tomorrow, or else I would have gone to see one scenic spot with you every day.”

Yueyao teased, “If you stay a few days longer, wouldn’t Niu Yanghui and the two kids go hungry?”

Mingzhu’s expression beca a bit uneasy.

Yueyao roughly guessed the reason for Mingzhu’s eagerness to return, presumably worrying about Niu Yanghui being chard away by that woman. But Yueyao didn’t reveal it, just smiled and said, “This Wind Lotus Garden got its na because it’s planted with countless lotuses. However, I’m not clear about the actual scenery.”

Mingzhu didn’t want to dampen Yueyao’s spirits, so she patiently chatted with her. Once they arrived at Wind Lotus Garden, the children were like birds released from a cage. Yueyao, anwhile, remained absorbed in the garden’s exquisite beauty.

The garden was filled with towering trees, their thick shade covering the sky, giving it the feeling of a deep mountain forest. The corridors, pavilions, and towers in Wind Lotus Garden were built along the water, simple yet elegant.

Mingzhu pointed to an open space and said, “Over there! That place is flat.”

The maid prepared the bait and handed the fishing rods to Yueyao and Mingzhu. They didn’t use chairs, instead sat directly on the cushions laid out. In such picturesque surroundings, Mingzhu temporarily put aside her worries.

After a short while, Mingzhu looked at the calm lake surface and said, “Is there really no fish in this lake? It’s been half a day, and not a single bite!”

Yueyao glanced at Mingzhu, “After all these years, your impatience hasn’t changed at all. Just wait patiently, the fish will bite eventually.”

Mingzhu sat back with patience, and after a while, her fishing hook moved. Just as she was about to lift the rod, she heard soone shouting loudly from afar, “Mom, we’re back!”

Yueyao looked at the ripples near Mingzhu’s fishing rod and smiled, “Your fish got scared away by Brother Xuxu.”

Mingzhu lifted the rod, finding the hook empty and the bait gone. “Yueyao, Brother Xuxu’s voice is just too loud, isn’t it? We heard him before we saw him.”

Yueyao said helplessly, “He’s had a loud voice since he was little, you know that. Just focus on your fishing; once you catch sothing, we can roast it and eat it.”

The spring wind caressed, green waves danced, chirping of orioles echoed from the deep shade, accompanied by the cheerful laughter of the children, creating a particularly warm scene.

Mingzhu, sitting on the thick blanket, said to Yueyao, “It’s been so long since I’ve felt this relaxed.”

Yueyao asked, “What do you busy yourself with every day?”

Mingzhu was silent for a while, then smiled bitterly, “Yes, I don’t even know what I’m busy with every day.” Speaking of which, Yueyao seed to have more to deal with and faced tougher situations, but Yueyao lived so comfortably, while she… now even had wrinkles on her face and a few strands of gray hair.

Yueyao didn’t say much more; so things need to be figured out on one’s own, saying too much can be counterproductive. Yueyao helped Mingzhu up and said, “Co on! Let’s go roast at too!”

Mingzhu nodded.

Everyone was enjoying the roasted at when a guard approached and said, “Madam, there’s a group outside saying they want to co in and enjoy the scenery. We stopped them, but they’re causing a ruckus.”

Mingzhu’s face turned sour, “Didn’t you tell them there are won here?” It’s usually improper for n to co where won are present.

The guard lowered his head, “We did, but they insist on barging in. They outnumber us, and our n are having a hard ti holding them back.”

Yueyao chuckled, “Knowing there are won and still daring to co in, they’re not good people.” Yueyao turned to the side and said to Gu You, “Go tell Xiang Wei, and take Brother Sheng and so others to have a look.”

Mingzhu was puzzled, “Why bring Brother Sheng and the others over? The kids are so small, what if they get hurt in a fight?”

Yueyao wasn’t worried, “It’s not that easy to get hurt. Besides, even if they do, it’s fine. Boys need to go through so rough tis.”

Mingzhu laughed, “Now I know why Xiang Wei once joked you were a stepmother and Kexin believed it. Honestly, you do seem like a stepmother.” With Yueyao’s deanor, anyone not knowing the truth might think she’s a stepmother.

The group outside Wind Lotus Garden were actually all playboys. Hearing so unknown people rented the garden, they wanted to see who it was, and of course, stir up so trouble. Unfortunately, before they even saw the person, they got beaten up.
