"We have landed on the first asteroid." One of the crew mbers said.

Even though the asteroid was a good distance away, the spaceships the Aegis Corps used were extrely fast. It only took them around 15 minutes to arrive.

"We’re getting out now." The team was relaying everything to the control room in case anything happened.

They were still on high alert because anything could happen in space, and they didn’t want to be taken off guard again.

The Láspi didn’t take over everyone who went on this expedition, as they would have been caught. But that didn’t matter to them because they didn’t need to take everyone over. All they needed to do was awaken their brethren on these asteroids.

What was going to make things easier for them as well was the fact that there were multiple expeditions, five of them to be exact.

The Láspi didn’t care if the humans mined the ore. In fact, they welcod it because it would be a good distraction.

The mont everyone found the ore deposit, the Láspi detached a part of itself to find its brethren.

Across all five expeditions, the Láspi did the sa thing.

Their plan was to have a small piece of themselves connect with the Láspi on the asteroids, awaken them, feed them information, and help them evolve to their current state. Then, they would go around to the rest of the asteroids, doing the sa thing until all of them were awake.

Once that happened, they would head to where their colony hive mind was and free it, allowing for complete and total domination of this solar system.

"Team 2 to dispatch, we’ve mined all of the ore on our asteroid. We’re heading back."

"Affirmative."

During this ti, Jin was flying toward the Moon base. He was so pissed off that he completely forgot that he could have teleported up there.

When the moon was in sight, he crashed into it, forcing the ergency shutters to activate, and security rushed to the location.

"Sir, don’t take another step or we will use force!" The security shouted.

Jin stared at them, then started flying.

"What the fuck?!"

"Light him up!!"

Laser blasts rang through the hall as they all tried to stop Jin. Won blasted him with their powers, and so tried to use their unique abilities to restrain him.

None of it worked. He avoided everything and swiped his hand, knocking everyone back.

"That dumbass!" Jin flew through the halls, making his way to the director’s office, and when he did, he entered without being let in.

"Who are—Oh, Jin. You know, Lacey told that you have a habit of entering people’s offices without knocking. Can I help you with sothing?"

"Why are you sending your teams to the asteroids?"

"That is classified information. The fact that you know about this ans that you could be sent to prison."

Jin wasn’t worried about sothing as trivial as prison.

"Don’t you know what’s on those asteroids? And you’re still sending your people there?"

"Since you are aware of things, hiding it won’t matter. Yes, we know that this ore is on those asteroids. We’re mining them so we can—"

"No, you fucking idiot! The Láspi! They’re on those asteroids! Did your servalence team not do their jobs properly?!"

"Oh, that." Trinity laughed. "We already have that covered. Check it." She showed him the map of space with the green and red marked asteroids.

Jin’s eyes widened. "What the fuck is this data? Who gave you this?"

"My team. Why are you acting this way?"

Jin pulled out his own chart, showing Trinity which asterpids were really Láspi free and Láspi contaminated.

"Where did you get this?" Trinity asked

"Myself. I scanned the entire solar system to see if there was any more Láspi activity. I was certain your team would do the sa, but apparently your team is pretty shitty."

"I was handed false information." Trininy was speechless

"Did you even double-check everything?"

"Who do you take for? Of course I did!"

Jin shook his head. "Then either your teams are completely shitty at their jobs, or they wanted you to...Fuck!"

"What?"

"The Láspi, they evolved."

"What do you—"

Jin held his hand out, lightning crackling around his fingers. "Once a Láspi reaches the point of mimicking people, it’s impossible to tell the difference between them."

"Jin, put your hand down. I’m not your enemy. I can tell you sothing that only Mrs Horton knows if that’s what you wish."

"Nah. The Láspi can read people’s mories down to the mont they are born. The only way to tell who is and isn’t one is by drawing blood." Jin blasted Trinity with lightning, but she blocked the attack.

"Jin! Stop, I’m not a Láspi!"

"If you aren’t, then get hit by the lightning. It won’t kill you after all."

"No, are you crazy?"

"Yes." Jin increased the intensity of his lightning bolts, forcing Trinity to use more of her power, breaking down his lightning.

Jin squinted his eyes. ’So her power can break down mana? That’s good to know.’

He increased his power once more, this ti, using nexus energy, the energy of a planet. This broke through her defences and caused her to cough up blood.

Jin sighed. "Good. You’re not compromised."

"I know. That’s what I was trying to tell you."

He shook his head. "It doesn’t work like that. We wouldn’t have been in this fucking situation if you dumb bitches had just listened to !"

He walked over to Trinity and injected her with nanites. On his way here, his computer ca up with a better way to use the bioelectric stimulant.

"What did you just do?" She asked

"I injected you with nanites. These nanites will naturally boost your bioelectric signal to prevent the Láspi from taking over your body. Once a Láspi touches you, they get shocked off."

"That’s...that’s helpful."

"Yeah, but it’s not as powerful as it can be. I’m already working toward boosting the signal using that ore you idiots are mining. But before I can do that, I need to learn who’s human and who’s a Láspi."
