"Go ahead, what is it that you want to say to ?"
In the Western restaurant, Charlotte Thompson looked calmly at Leon Battleson in front of her.
However, the latter acted as if he hadn’t heard Charlotte’s words, lowering his head to look at the nu, then pointed at the dishes on it and spoke to Charlotte.
"I rember you seem to like desserts. I specially sought out this place. Their desserts are really delicious."
Yet, Charlotte didn’t even glance at the nu, her gaze remained fixed on Leon Battleson’s face.
She then let out a light laugh and slowly opened her mouth to speak, "I think Mr. Battleson must be mistaken, I don’t like sweet things."
"What I dislike the most is when people reject ."
Upon hearing Charlotte’s words, the smile on Leon Battleson’s face didn’t diminish in the slightest.
"It doesn’t matter, anything related to you, I will gradually get used to."
Saying this, Leon placed the nu he was holding aside.
"Though I am a bit curious, what exactly changed your mind and made you willing to et ."
Leon propped his face up with his hand, his thoughtful gaze wandered,
"Could it be because of..."
But this ti, Leon didn’t finish his sentence as Charlotte directly interrupted him.
"Of course, it’s because of Justin. Since you said you wanted to et to talk about those news stories online, and now I’m sitting here, so... Mr. Battleson, what’s your take on it?"
When faced with Charlotte’s question, Leon just smiled and pursed his lips.
"But what if I say I asked you out just because I simply wanted to see you?"
As Leon spoke, Charlotte’s gaze had already scanned the surroundings, and then she placed the napkin originally on her lap onto the table.
"The word ’simple’ really doesn’t suit coming out of your mouth." Charlotte laughed coldly while looking at Leon in front of her,
"But regarding whether those online rumors are true or false, I think you should have so judgnt in your own mind. Do you think you could use such things to take back the Howard Group from Justin’s hands?"
Charlotte had been watching Leon’s expression intently and naturally caught the subtle gleam in his eyes.
"Moreover, one person certainly knows the truth of the matter better than you."
"Oh?" Leon chuckled, a beautiful arc forming in his brow.
"But soone has to be able to speak out, don’t they?"
Upon hearing what Leon said, Charlotte’s palm on the table slightly clenched, and then she stood up directly from the chair.
"Sorry, Mr. Battleson, I have other matters to attend to, so I’ll be leaving now."
After saying that, Charlotte ignored whatever reaction Leon might have or what he might say, and directly stepped out of the restaurant.
After leaving the restaurant, Charlotte’s expression was grave, and without any hesitation, she dialed Justin Battleson’s number.
Recently, due to the matters surrounding Justin Battleson’s family background circulating online, it naturally affected Justin’s company, especially the Battleson Group, which he was managing.
This had made Justin Battleson’s work extrely busy lately, even causing him to return to the villa much later than usual.
However, for Charlotte’s call, Justin specially instructed Michael Richard to imdiately pass it through.
"What’s up, Charlotte?"
"Am I interrupting you by calling now?" When Charlotte heard Justin answer the call, it was a bit noisy on his end, but it quickly quieted down.
"No." Justin responded.
