Just as Charlotte and Annie were moving their bodies, they made a slight noise which caught the attention of the person in the passenger seat. He glanced at the rearview mirror, and not seeing them, turned around cautiously.
Charlotte was startled and t the man’s gaze, making pretending to be unconscious too late.
"What do we do? They’re awake," the man in the passenger seat gruffed.
Hearing this, Charlotte’s heart caught in her throat.
But the man driving only snorted, speaking nonchalantly:
"Anyway, it’s not far now. We’ll be there soon. Don’t worry about them."
"Are we really okay with having tied up these two won? Weren’t we supposed to look for..." the passenger began, and Charlotte perked up her ears, trying to gather any useful information from his words.
However, realizing he was saying too much, the man in the passenger seat stopped half-way and fell silent.
The car was enveloped in silence again, leaving Charlotte and Annie able to do nothing but endure with eyes wide open.
Charlotte even chose to close her eyes—not out of fear, but to silently calculate the ti and gauge the direction the car was heading.
Charlotte thought rembering these details would surely be useful.
After a while, the car slowly ca to a halt, and then the trunk was suddenly lifted open.
Before Charlotte could see anything, soone covered her head.
Then soone roughly yanked her up, seemingly taking her sowhere.

Charlotte was pushed forcefully from behind, and unable to see her surroundings clearly, she stumbled and fell hard to the ground.
Her shoulder hit the floor, and she couldn’t help but let out a muffled cry of pain. However, Charlotte was more concerned about where Annie was taken.
Fortunately, Annie’s voice quickly ca from nearby, allowing Charlotte to calm her thoughts.
As long as she and Annie were kept together, it would be fine.
Soon after, the hood over her head was removed, and Charlotte squinted, frowning against the light, opening her eyes only to et a pair of sinister eyes.
Startled, Charlotte instinctively averted her gaze.
Only then did she notice that she and Annie had been brought to a place resembling a factory.
The surrounding area was quite expansive, but from the setup around, it didn’t seem like it had been abandoned for long.
