Riley pursed her lips but ignored Charlotte Thompson’s inquiry and instead said to the director:
"Director, I suddenly rembered that I have several engagents next month, which seem to clash with the start and filming schedule of the drama. Apologies, director, I’m afraid I can’t participate in this TV series."
Although Riley said this, everyone could see she was probably finding an excuse to deliberately leave.
This left so people, who were expecting to watch a good show, suddenly disappointed.
"Miss Riley, this... you didn’t ntion this to before, did you?"
The director stood up, sowhat perplexed, and then glanced nervously towards Charlotte Thompson.

"I ca here this ti just to inform you about this, director. I know this opportunity is rare, and I’m also very sorry that due to personal reasons, I really can’t participate in this shoot."
With that said, Riley also bowed slightly to so of the other people present.
Seeing the director’s troubled expression, Riley couldn’t help but feel pleased inside.
As long as the excuse of scheduling conflicts was presented, not even the director would likely have any alternatives.
She could see clearly now; Charlotte Thompson invested in this drama and specifically asked for her to lead, clearly intending to create a chance to make things difficult for her.
Therefore, Riley was absolutely not going to give Charlotte such an opportunity.
Hence, at this mont, Riley glanced triumphantly at Charlotte, seemingly wanting to mock her failed plans.
"Is that so, Miss Riley? Is your schedule really that tight?"
Charlotte straightened up and leaned back in her chair, her tone carrying a hint of exaggeration.
"Miss Thompson, I really apologize, but this is also my fault for just rembering now and not informing the director’s team earlier." Riley smirked slightly.
Riley then said a few more polite phrases, preparing to turn and leave, but Charlotte’s next words made her footsteps freeze instantly.
"But Miss Riley, your agent has already signed the contract with ; you’re already the lead actress for the drama."
"What did you say?" Riley turned around incredulously, as if she couldn’t believe what she had just heard.
Moreover, Charlotte took out a stack of docunts from her bag at this mont and pushed them onto the table.
"Miss Riley, if you don’t believe it, you can check the contract. After all, the best way to know whether an actress can participate is to ask her agent."
Even before Charlotte finished her sentence, Riley rushed to the table and grabbed the contract recklessly.
Indeed, the terms were clearly written in black and white; her agent had signed her up as the lead.
"This... how is this possible..." Riley’s face turned pale as if she realized sothing.
"From Miss Riley’s words, are you suspecting this contract might be a forgery?" Charlotte said, slightly raising her chin.
