845: Chapter 845 Seafood Restaurant 845: Chapter 845 Seafood Restaurant Traveling day and night, Gu Fan, Su Hui, and David took turns driving.
They had originally planned to go to a city with a seaport, but Gu Fan now felt this was not wise.
He was worried that the enemy had laid a trap there, waiting for them to walk right into it, so Gu Fan decided to change their route.
If the enemy guessed that they were heading to a seaport city, then Gu Fan would do the opposite and steer clear of it.
Gu Fan checked the map and knew that so people in this area made a living from fishing.
These people would sell their catch through various channels.
Su Hui quickly understood Gu Fan’s plan, which was to use these fishing boats to transport them and the space-ti door out of there.
Su Hui thought the plan was feasible, but how could they contact these fishern without getting close to the harbor?
Gu Fan pointed to the map, “This place is neither too big nor too small—with such a long coastline, I refuse to believe the enemy can keep watch over it all.”
“I see!” Su Hui realized what Gu Fan was thinking.
The first step was to contact the fishern, the second was to arrange a eting in a location near the sea, one that was usually far from the seaport city.
The second step wasn’t hard; the real challenge was the first one—how to contact the fishern, how to gain their trust, how to persuade them to offer assistance.
Gu Fan nodded, “Yes, the plan is good, but implenting it is difficult.
How do we find these fishern?”
Su Hui also studied the map, focusing on seafood restaurants.
She discovered that the nearest one was only twenty kiloters away and fifty kiloters from the seaport city, which was relatively safe.
Gu Fan agreed and decided that’s where they would go—to visit that seafood restaurant.
David couldn’t help but say, “That’s good.
I haven’t had seafood in a long ti.”
So, it was unanimously decided.
The three of them drove to the seafood restaurant, their stomachs growling at the thought of a delicious seafood feast, since they haven’t had good sleep or food for a while.
The seafood restaurant was located by the roadside, a convenient spot for passing vehicles to stop by for a al and, incidentally, for it to make money.
In just a while, Gu Fan, Su Hui, and David arrived near the seafood restaurant.
They parked the car and then headed to the establishnt together.
As soon as they entered, they saw all kinds of people—burly n, weary travelers, flirting young couples, and even so oddly dressed individuals.
When Su Hui walked in, her beautiful appearance imdiately caught everyone’s attention, especially the n who appraised her overtly and covertly, so even with smiles hinting at ill intentions, as if about to say, “Hey, beauty, wanna hang out?”
Su Hui chose to ignore them.
She picked a seat, took the nu, and handed it to David, implying for him to order since she couldn’t understand the foreign nu.
David took the nu and ordered a few dishes.
Then, with a worried look, he said, “Is it really okay for us to be exposed in the public eye like this?
The enemy could have spies everywhere.”
To this, Gu Fan shook his head, “After all, this is not our territory.
The enemy will find us sooner or later.
Instead of worrying about that, we should hurry to eat, rest, and build up our strength.”
Having heard this, David didn’t understand why Gu Fan had suddenly beco so optimistic, or if he was already ntally and physically exhausted, beginning to give up on himself.
Just at that mont, a man burst in, his expression uncontrollable with rage, like a volcano about to erupt.
As soon as he entered, he found a waiter, grabbed the collar of his shirt, and bellowed, “Where’s your boss, why is the money he owes still being dragged out.”
A person who looked like a supervisor ca over and said, “Pike, don’t make a scene here, otherwise I’ll call security.”
“Call security, I’m scared of you lot?
Today, no matter what, I must get the money you owe , otherwise don’t bla for not being polite.” After speaking, Pike drew a gun and aid it at the supervisor, roaring again, “Do you know how hard it is for to fish outside, and you still withhold my money?
Are you playing with ?”
The supervisor panicked a bit and hurried to explain, “That’s not what I ant, it’s our boss who told to do this.
He said there was sothing wrong with the seafood you delivered, so of it ca from polluted waters, causing our custors to have health issues.”
“Bullshit!” Pike cursed loudly, though his fierce look faded slightly, as he seed to be lacking confidence.
The supervisor added, “Our boss said, if you co causing trouble, we’ll call the police and have you arrested, then we can find out if you’ve been fishing in polluted waters.”
Pike was furious, although the gun was pressed against the supervisor’s head, he couldn’t pull the trigger.
Finally, he punched the supervisor.
Everyone saw that Pike was just pretending to be fierce, in reality, he didn’t have the guts at all.
It was purely a scare tactic.
However, Gu Fan took a serious interest in what they were saying, a spark of excitent in his eyes.
Pike didn’t leave imdiately.
He still pointed the gun at the supervisor, but this ti he was much more polite, “I need money, I really need money.
My wife, my child, my family are all waiting for to bring money ho.”
“I’m sorry, Pike, you should still go.
If I call the cops and have you arrested, you’ll lose your qualification to go out to sea and fish.” The supervisor said indifferently, angering Pike enough to punch the supervisor again.
“Do you know why I had to go fishing in polluted waters?
Because you damn bastards are only interested in profiteering, engaging in overfishing.
You’ve fished out all the nearby fish, even bribing people, monopolizing the limited resources.
What else could I do?” Pike was seething with rage, but the supervisor was wearing an expression of indifference.
Just then, a security guard attacked from behind, using a chair to strike Pike on the head, knocking him to the ground, and seizing the gun from his hand.
And upon inspection, the gun turned out to be a model.
The supervisor touched the spot on his face where he’d been punched, with a very angry look, and then signaled the security guards with his eyes.
The security guards took the hint and escorted Pike out.
As for what would happen next, everyone could guess, yet they couldn’t really say they felt sympathy.
Rather than calling them security guards, it would be more accurate to say they were there to help the seafood restaurant settle disputes.
With the constant flow of cars and a variety of diners who often caused disturbances, these guys would co and sit around, and when a problem arose, they’d step in to help and then have a al on the house.
“The objects of pity always have aspects that are loathso; to turn the phrase around, those who are detestable also have their pitiable sides.” Gu Fan sighed, took a sip of his drink, and knew that the person he was looking for had shown up.
Su Hui smiled slightly, “How about it, do you want to take action now?
If he’s beaten half to death, he might not be able to help us.”
