1394: Chapter 1394: Removing the Stronghold 1394: Chapter 1394: Removing the Stronghold It was three o’clock in the morning, and many were lost in slumber.

Lu Yi, holding a pillow and sitting up, was having a pleasant dream about Lan Ning.

He smiled so broadly in his sleep that his mouth wouldn’t close.

Just at that mont, his phone rang, abruptly interrupting his sweet dream.

He beca sowhat displeased, “Who is it, calling so late at night?”

Lu Yi picked up his phone and saw an unknown number; thus, he answered, “Hello, mate, who are you?”

“Sorry, mate, to disturb your sweet dream.” As soon as Gu Fan started speaking, that familiar voice imdiately perked Lu Yi up.

Shaking off his drowsiness, he quickly asked, “Mate, what’s so important that you’re calling at this hour?”

“The people monitoring you will be pulled out urgently.

This is your great chance to escape their surveillance.” Gu Fan had barely finished speaking when Lu Yi grew puzzled, “If Organization X loses track of us and then realizes we haven’t returned to our original city, they’ll suspect our movents.

They might just strengthen the defenses in Dark City, and then you’ll be in danger.”

“That is indeed true.” Gu Fan gave it so thought, then made a quick decision—Organization X would surely not withdraw all of their surveillance in the vicinity; a few would remain.

That was an opportunity.

As long as soone from Organization X reported on the surveillance status, they wouldn’t care who the reporter was.

Lu Yi, just having woken up, found it hard to follow along, so Gu Fan had no choice but to ask Lu Yi to go find Su Hui, believing she would understand the implications.

“What the heck, all so secretive.” Although Lu Yi was clueless, he still knocked on Su Hui’s door.

Su Hui, too, was roused from sleep by the noise.

Upon opening the door and seeing the grinning Lu Yi, she warned him sternly, “You’d better have sothing important, or I swear I’ll break your bones.”

Lu Yi quickly explained, “Sister Su, don’t get mad at , Gu Fan sent to find you.”

Shortly, Su Hui was briefed on the situation and understood what needed to be done next.

Her first reaction was to wake everyone up; it was a rare opportunity for them to shift from defense to offense.

First and foremost, Su Hui and Lin Xi were unaware of the number of surveillance outposts Organization X had near the hotel they were staying in.

But tonight was different.

The agents Organization X had sent to watch them were being urgently pulled out, which ant that these agents would imdiately act, and taking action would an exposing their surveillance outposts.

According to Gu Fan’s plan, Su Hui’s group would take advantage of the enemy’s shortage of manpower to kill the few left at the surveillance outposts and take control of them.

Now Lu Yi understood, “Once we control the surveillance outposts for sure, even if we infiltrate Dark City, soone will still report to the higher-ups of Organization X that we’re all safe and sound, still in this small town.”

“Yes, so this is a once-in-a-lifeti opportunity.” Su Hui urged everyone to imdiately take action.

Anyone out this late could almost certainly be labeled as Organization X; they needed to find their surveillance outposts.

It sounded simple, but the execution was difficult.

After all, there were several surveillance outposts—it was crucial to discover all of them and seize them simultaneously.

Missing even one would cause their entire plan to fall apart.

The hotel where Su Hui and Lin Xi were staying was operated by the Hunter’s Guild; naturally, they had installed caras outside, observing how many people exited from nearby buildings.

Around the sa ti, soone erged from buildings in four different directions, each one seemingly anxious.

It was safe to assu they were the agents sent by Organization X to monitor them,

“Alright, we move in an hour.” Su Hui wanted to wait an hour to ensure the enemy who had left had not doubled back, ensuring their safety for the operation.

The hotel was established by the Hunter’s Guild, of course having a secret passage.

Gu Fan had used this very passage to leave last ti.

This ti, Su Hui, Lin Xi, and Irina ford a trio, setting off through the secret passage, step by step, towards the enemy’s surveillance outposts.

The initial plan was set, but Ouyang Jin raised an objection, “Although we’ve taken control over Organization X’s surveillance outposts, how do we pretend to be them and report back?

We don’t know how they report.

If it’s by phone, our voices will be different from Organization X’s n, and we might get discovered.”

Irina nodded, “We could keep a few alive to work for us.”

“Indeed, details are crucial.

If any part of our plan is neglected, not only will we fail to turn the situation to our advantage, but Organization X might also intensify their surveillance on us.

Then, with Gu Fan not with us, Organization X will detect it,” Su Hui inhaled deeply, attempting to ease the pressure within her.

Ti inched by, and finally an hour passed.

Su Hui, Lin Xi, and Irina exchanged glances, nodded to each other, and comnced their operation.

Lu Yi watched as the three won took the lead, feeling a complex emotion stirring within him.

Not just Lu Yi, even Ouyang Jin and the rest of the Hunter’s Guild felt quite uncomfortable.

Ouyang Jin, seeing the low morale, consoled them, “Co on, let’s lift our spirits.

It’s not that we n are inadequate, it’s just that those three won are extraordinarily special.

This world is such that there are always a few won who outshine the vast majority of n.”

They all nodded, though with wry smiles, realizing they, a bunch of grown n, were hiding behind won.

All Lu Yi, Ouyang Jin, and their group could do now was to monitor the situation outside via walkie-talkies and surveillance.

But when they saw Su Hui, Lin Xi, and Irina erge from one of Organization X’s outposts, they knew they had been successful,

“Well done!” Lu Yi and Ouyang Jin started to get excited, almost cheering, while mbers of the Hunter’s Guild imdiately dispatched to take over that surveillance outpost.

In just one hour, all four of Organization X’s outposts were uprooted, all taken over by the Hunter’s Guild.

This ant Su Hui, Lin Xi, and their group had finally escaped surveillance, enjoying relative freedom of movent for the short term.

Organization X was under the illusion that Gu Fan and his team were still in this small town, still in this hotel.

However, the mission was far from over.

Looking at the long term, Su Hui, Lin Xi, and their company could not just go wherever they pleased; after all, these were agents Organization X had urgently pulled for the rescue mission of Xue Long, implying that these agents would return at so point.

Only after these returning agents had been dealt with completely could they consider the matter truly settled, so now was not the ti to lower their guard.

Fortunately, not many had remained at the four outposts, and so were quite cooperative, obediently following orders, even expressing their eagerness to forsake Organization X and join the righteous side.

They had seen for themselves the consequences of non-cooperation.
