Chapter 55: Chapter 53 Various Actions

“Let’s not worry about that,” Lucien quickly cald down and rapidly pondered conditions that would be to his advantage.

Knowing that the danger on Kosai Island wasn’t the guarding duty itself but rather a treasure or secret realm hidden within, Lucien felt considerably more at ease.

“As long as I don’t actively investigate the secret realm, simply guarding Kosai Island should provide so safety,” Lucien observed Bennett and Lilia, whose eyes were full of desire. He slightly lowered his head, masking his slightly flickering gaze.

“The two of them can no longer advance through normal ans and deeply desire to beco Formal Wizards, so they are interested in so-called Fairyland and its plantations, risking great dangers to access its resources to change their fate and complete their advancent.”

“But I do not need it. Fairyland is just icing on the cake for ; even if I gain nothing on Kosai Island, it doesn’t affect my advancent to becoming a Formal Wizard.” Lucien quietly sized up his two “companions” through his gaze.

“However, this is good. With the two of them actively investigating, it will naturally attract more attention from the half-fairies or other dangers. For , it will undoubtedly extend my safe ti, allowing

to enhance my strength…”

Lucien glanced at Bennett and Lilia, and the corners of his mouth slightly curled. He even hoped these two would stir up trouble, giving him plenty of ti.

To put it simply, everyone was rely using each other; if these two “companions” got lucky and found a great fortune in the ruins, he wouldn’t mind being ruthless.

Bennett and Lilia had flashes of brilliance in their eyes as well, clearly having their own scheming minds.

“So it’s settled then, we’ll leave together on the airship in a week,” Lucien and Lilia said after confirming so details with Bennett and soon took their leave.

Bennett smiled as he sent them out of his residence, but once he returned, the smile on his face had vanished.

“From now until I leave the academy, if anyone cos by, say I’m in crucial preparation for a trip, and I will see no one,” Bennett instructed Fia, who stood beside him respectfully.

Bennett then entered his residence, briskly walking past several servants.

These mostly mortal servants each bowed respectfully, so even smiling.

Pfft—

Bennett quickly walked past each servant, and while so bowed respectfully or prostrated themselves, their bodies shivered slightly, then completely collapsed; so of the standing servants even fell outright, with traces of blood at the corners of their mouths.

Many of the servants had looks of confusion, incomprehension, and bewildernt in their eyes; they did not understand what they had done wrong or why their usually gentle master Bennett would strike them down.

Bennett’s gaze was ice-cold.

He was about to leave, and these servants, who could potentially leak clues, naturally had to be permanently silenced, avoiding future troubles.

“Father,” after personally dealing with those attendants, Bennett quietly left his residence and went to a secluded courtyard. He looked at a figure shrouded in a gray robe within the courtyard and respectfully bowed.

“Do not disappoint

again, Bennett,” the figure in the gray robe spoke hoarsely, waving his hand as he tossed a Space Ring.

Bennett respectfully caught it, observing a few strands of white, aged, and withered hair under his father’s gray robe; Bennett felt a pang of heartache.

He understood that this was not family support, but his father’s last savings.

“I certainly will not disappoint you, father!” Bennett took the Space Ring, his gaze resolute.

“Bennett…”, the robed figure transmitted a piece of information through spiritual power, quietly spoken.

Bennett was shaken inwardly, and a flash of ecstasy flickered deep within his eyes.

“Wuu wuu wuu…” After watching Bennett leave, the figure in the gray robe began to twist abnormally, his eyes filled with regret, horror, anxiety, reluctance, and anger.

The spiritual power of the Third-level Wizard Apprentice burst forth fully, but it was suppressed by an even more powerful force.

Whoosh—The terrifying collision of spiritual forces tore his gray robe into pieces, revealing a gaunt body entwined with nurous semi-transparent thin threads.

These delicate threads intricately pierced into key muscles and joints of his body, making the gray-haired Third-level Wizard Apprentice look like a specially crafted live puppet.

A delicately crafted, vivid, but soon to be permanently sealed puppet.

One foot stepped into the courtyard.

A flash of horror passed over the face of the gray-haired Third-level Wizard Apprentice.

Then, the nurous threads binding him began to rapidly constrict.

Spurt—flesh burst forth.

“Don’t disappoint … my dear little Bennett… hehehe hahaha…”

There was a hint of madness in the voice.

“After going to Kosai Island, we might encounter half-fairies and even Formal Wizards after the secret realm exploration is over.”

After leaving Bennett’s residence, Lucien didn’t imdiately return to his laboratory but headed to the library at Greybone Academy instead.

He didn’t fully trust the information provided by Bennett, so he needed to verify it himself.

What Lucien didn’t expect, however, was to run into Lilia in the library.

Clearly, she was also there to look up information. However, Lucien had no intention of talking to her and quickly started perusing the material he’d co to find.

“According to the records in the book, there’s nothing in Fairyland that could attract those half-fairies…” Lucien put down the book and gently massaged his temples.

Perhaps the magical plants in Fairyland are treasures worth risking lives for other Wizard Apprentices, but for half-fairies, although these magical plants are precious, they are not worth the desperate efforts.

After all, what is considered imnsely precious to human Wizards is just a common material that fairies and half-fairies can cultivate with so ti and cost.

For those half-fairies, what often hinders their advancent to Formal Wizard are not the limits in spiritual power, but restrictions related to their Bloodline. Unlike human Wizards, fairies need to elevate their Bloodline and life forms, transforming their bodies to foster a leap in spiritual power.

However, as the Bloodline of these half-fairies isn’t pure, it makes elevating their own life ranks particularly challenging.

Thus, what half-fairies desire are resources that could enhance or purify their Bloodlines, such as the Bloodline of high-tier fairies, or special magical plants that can increase the concentration of their Bloodlines, rather than the “ordinary resources” that can be cultivated in Fairyland with so cost.
