Chapter 36: End of assessnt

"Umm, how are we going to share the mana cores? There isn’t enough for everyone," Aaron voiced out, breaking the silence.

The others looked at each other before turning their gazes towards Ivan. It was undeniable that Ivan had done the most work and had even broken an arm, so he was sure to get one of the mana cores.

As for the other two, there were still four of them left to share. Two mana cores weren’t going to be enough for the four of them.

"Should we sell it and divide the money?" Juliet suggested. Selling these two mana cores would earn them quite a good sum, they could use the money to purchase other things that they needed.

Especially for soone like Juliet who was from an ordinary family, a few tens of gold coins was a large amount for her.

"Mm, selling it will be better since there’ll be enough money to share." Lena nodded. She wasn’t really interested in the money but it was the only way to maintain fairness, she could even purchase the mana cores and give them the money!

"Let’s not be in a rush, we can hold on to them for the ti being," Ivan said as he slowly stood up, he was finally done resting.

Lucas imdiately went to support him but was stopped by Ivan.

"I’m fine," Ivan said while waving at Lucas not to bother.

"You’re up? Thought you wanted to spend the night here," Mrs Avalor’s voice rang through the air, the students looked and saw her walking over.

"Are you kids ready to leave?" She asked after reaching them.

Ivan and the others nodded. Not another word was said as Mrs Avalor led them back to the dungeon gate.

On the way back, Lucas and Aaron were discussing how their results would be compared to others. Lena gladly joined the conversation while Juliet would say a thing or two from ti to ti.

Ivan and Mrs Avalor listened in silence. Mrs Avalor was smiling while Ivan had a thoughtful expression.

Ivan believed that his squad was more balanced compared to the other squads. They had mbers that fitted the roles of a spearhead squad according to the Skrivaloks standard.

The scout, tank, support, main damage dealer, and an extra. Unlike the squad formation of humans which suggested that warriors with similar abilities should team up, his squad was far better.

Still, he couldn’t help but have so doubts at this point after they had only managed to destroy one orc village.

Could the other squads possibly have destroyed more than one orc village?

"What are you thinking about?"

Mrs Avalor’s voice sounded in Ivan’s head, pulling him from his thoughts. Ivan looked at the other party and saw her smiling at him.

Ivan’s eyes narrowed slightly, he had been curious as to what the identity of this woman was.

"Mrs Avalor, are you a teacher in the academy too?" He asked.

"Hmm, you could say that. I used to be a teacher but I don’t teach anymore," Mrs Avalor replied.

’A retired teacher? Then there shouldn’t be any problems with asking her, right?’ Ivan thought while looking at the smiling Mrs Avalor. He finally decided to ask his question after a mont of hesitation.

"What do you think our score will be compared to the other squads?" Ivan asked.

Hearing this, Aaron and the others imdiately stopped talking and waited for Mrs Avalor’s response.

"Hmm, I would say average." Mrs Avalor said with a thoughtful expression.

"!!!" Everyone.

Except for Ivan who was still calm, the rest looked like they had eaten a bug after hearing Mrs Avalor’s answer.

"Hahaha, I’m just kidding. You guys actually perford very well but I can’t reveal the performance of the others, that’s for you to find out yourselves."

Seeing the expressions on their faces, Mrs Avalor couldn’t help but laugh.

Realising that they were pranked, Lucas, Lena, and Aaron sighed in relief while Juliet pouted.

Mrs Avalor giggled again and continued walking.

Shortly after, they arrived at the clearing where the dungeon gate was located.

Just like last ti, they didn’t find any students around the gate.

Could it be that they arrived too early and others were still attacking the orc villages?

Thinking of this, so of them couldn’t help but feel depressed at the thought that their squad had only cleared one orc village.

They passed through the dungeon gate, and the familiar sensation of walking through thick liquid enveloped them again before they appeared on the other side.

Imdiately they stepped out of the dungeon gate, and a wave of voices filled their ears.

"Damnit, those damn orcs were stronger than I expected."

"I didn’t think they’d be able to cooperate like that, we would have died to their wave of arrows if not for the teacher."

"Your squad is too weak, it was the orc wizard that forced the teacher who was with us to make a move."

"Orc wizard? We saw the orc king!"

Voices of students filled the platform in front of the dungeon gate as they chatted about their experience inside the dungeon.

At a glance, it was as if all the squads had returned because the platform was almost filled up like this morning before the assessnt began.

This sight surprised Ivan and his group.

Could it be that everyone had returned between them and they were the last squad to co out?

Imdiately after they ca through the dungeon gate, the crowd of students noticed them imdiately and the noise instantly reduced.

"Hey, am I seeing things? Isn’t that Lucas from our class?"

"And that’s Aaron, he’s an earth mage that can’t deal range attacks."

"And that’s Lena Starling from our class! We wanted to invite them earlier but didn’t see her, how did she get there?"

"Ivan Castellan? Isn’t he a paladin, what are they doing in the sa squad?"

"Sigh, poor Juliet and Lena. They ended up teaming up with three useless teammates, they must have ended up doing all the hard work."

"Lower your voice, Ivan is still a Castellan, you’ll get in trouble if he hears you."

The students began to discuss upon seeing Ivan’s squad. It was indeed strange to them.

One was a musketeer, two were mages, one was a summoner, and the last one was a paladin. They just didn’t match at all!

"These guys!" Lena hissed in dissatisfaction, she wanted to tie them up with her vine and explain to them how Ivan and the others perford.

But she couldn’t even walk properly and needed Juliet’s assistance.

Mrs Avalor glanced at Ivan from the corner of her eye and smiled when she saw his indifferent expression.

She wondered how the students would react if they had seen how Ivan’s squad had dealt with the orc village.

"Co with ," she said to the group and walked to the side of the platform. A group of teachers ca to et them, they were all healers.

"Both of them," Mrs Avalor said while pointing at Lena and Ivan.

"Understood," the group of teachers answered and bowed slightly before moving toward Ivan’s squad.

The squad "???"

Didn’t you say you were retired? Why are the teachers so respectful towards you?

"Okay kids, I’ll be going now; see you around." Mrs Avalor waved at them as she walked away.

After Mrs Avalor left, Ivan turned to the teacher who was healing his arm and asked who Mrs Avalor was.

"That’s the Vice Dean of the academy, it’s not strange that you don’t recognise her. After all, they don’t easily appear to first-year students." The teacher replied.

"!!!!"

Ivan and the others looked in Mrs Avalor’s direction but couldn’t see her anymore, she had already disappeared.

"W-we have been talking casually with the Vice Dean?! Juliet exclaid in shock.

All of the top figures of the academy were legendary figures that most students wouldn’t even see until they graduated, to think they had been talking with one while thinking she was a retired teacher!

The teachers who were healing them smiled upon seeing their reaction. They left after healing Ivan and Lena.

Now left alone, the group stood in a corner of the platform. They had t others here so they couldn’t just leave.

"Why are they staring at us like we’re so strange beasts?" Lucas clicked his tongue and said.

They could currently feel a lot of stares directed towards them, it was quite uncomfortable.

"Ignore them, they can only look," Ivan said calmly.

Not long after, the teacher who had addressed them earlier ca and stood in front of the dungeon gate again.

Seeing him, the students imdiately stopped talking and turned their focus towards him.

The teacher nodded after seeing that he didn’t need to tell the students to stop talking.

"The squad assessnt has officially ended and your scores have been calculated, the ranking will now be revealed. You’ll get to see how well you perford in the individual assessnt as well as your squad’s performance in the squad assessnt!" The teacher announced.
