Chapter 1739: Dead Zone: Past Events (End)
Before the vast forest, a group of people swiftly flew in from the distant plains and, led by a blonde man, disappeared one by one at the border between forest and plains.
“Zone B survey complete, it’s safe!”
“Zone E is clear as well…”
…
Half an hour later, listening to the sequential voices from the communicator, the blonde man pointed at the void before him.
A chanical helt floating in mid-air erged from invisibility, emitting a familiar chanical voice: “No doubt, according to the Space Detector’s readings, the last ti-space wavelength vanished near here.”
“So, those two people are currently in this forest?” the Son of Heaven asked frowning.
“Yes, estimating from the ti the wavelength disappeared, the two should still be within the forest.”
“Good, everyone, proceed according to the original plan.” The Son of Heaven ordered through the communicator.
“Get to work… damn it, we’ve been chasing for half a year, this ti we must catch those two!”
The voices of the Demon and a smile respectively sounded from the communicator.
“Everyone, keep a low profile, we’re on Elf territory, don’t casually damage the trees when setting traps, or you’ll incur the elves’ wrath.”
“Groups of four, don’t split up, those with Divine Skin keep it on, those without ensure you have Wind Magic ready, and once you receive Ava’s warning, activate the Wind Wall imdiately!”
“Understood!”
The hundreds of players responded in unison and started working across various parts of the forest.
“By the way, why did those two suddenly run to the elves’ territory?”
“Who knows…”
…
The two distributed tasks, idly chatting, when suddenly a scream echoed through the communicator.
“Ah…”
Before the screaming ended, three more voices rose in succession.
“What’s going on?” the Demon hastily asked.
“Coordinates Zone R 145, 265, four mbers encountered an enemy attack, dead on the spot!” Ava reported.
“How is this possible? Didn’t I tell you to alert at all tis?”
“The combat zone did not show any ti-space wavelength response… the enemy approached our mbers using other ans,” Ava said.
“Other ans?” Everyone was shocked, as they knew their group was a fully ard elite with highly complentary abilities, normally immune to most tactics. Achieving such a stealthy effect could only be due to a Divine Power.
So, those two had mastered a new Divine Power during this ti?
This group of elites quickly realized that the sudden move into the Elf Forest might be a ‘trap’ aid at them, to lure them in and then use informational advantage to counter-kill for revenge?
“Ti-space reactions appeared again… located in an uninhabited area… the opponent is relocating…” Ava’s report sounded once more.
“All mbers, imdiately switch to defense mode, retract the line inward.” The Son of Heaven ordered into the communicator while activating Divine Skin and rushing full speed toward the site of the incident.
The Son of Heaven’s composed voice temporarily cald the nervous mood of everyone.
However, the next second, a series of screams erupted again, mixed with a man’s cold laughter.
“Haha, too late!”
At the forest’s edge, a Z-World Traveler glanced at the bodies of four players dead before him, made a gesture toward Red Sleeve in the distance, and was about to head to the next location.
Suddenly, from the side, a sound of sothing slicing through the air attacked.
The Z-World Traveler frowned slightly but didn’t pay much attention, instinctively pressing a finger, causing ti around to naturally stop.
With the Dead Zone activated, the Z-World Traveler confidently turned his head to see who dared to launch a sneak attack.
However, turning around, he was greeted by the scythe’s blade, unaffected by the ti freeze.
“Puff!”
The blade flashed, leaving a bloodline across the Z-World Traveler’s neck, and with the bleeding, the Traveler’s soul also erupted.
Opposite, Lin Xue’s body was imdiately shrouded by the Grim Reaper’s shadow, which seized the soul in the air and devoured it.
The Dead Zone naturally lifted.
“No!”
A woman’s anguished cry rang out, as Red Sleeve, sensing sothing amiss from not far away, ran desperately over, but it was too late, and she could only watch her husband’s body lose all life, falling stiffly to the ground.
Red Sleeve was stunned in place, unable to recover for a mont.
A dozen seconds later, she finally raised her eyes again, staring fiercely at Lin Xue, her eyes bloodshot, her face twisted with rage: “I will make you pay with your life!”
Red Sleeve charged at Lin Xue, holding the Death God’s Chain.
Lin Xue just stood calmly, gripping the scythe with both hands as well.
Yet at that mont, the Dead Zone suddenly activated.
Red Sleeve was frozen in place, trapped within ti’s stillness, while her raised belly writhed, revealing a baby’s face—the reincarnated Zuo Qiu dwelling within Red Sleeve’s child.
This face was watching Lin Xue with an expression of extre terror; the death of the Z-World Traveler had already revealed much to him. Wanting no part in the fight that had dood him, he urgently manipulated the rage-driven Red Sleeve to turn and flee.
Red Sleeve was set in motion, but just ahead an oval Teleportation Array appeared.
Yet as Red Sleeve neared the teleportation array, a blade pierced from behind, through her abdon, bringing the yet-unford infant out with it.
Impaled and bloodied on the scythe’s tip, Zuo Qiu’s face twisted with agony, quickly losing all signs of life.
In his dying monts, looking at the expressionless woman below, he retained one last question: why would a Ti Observer appear here…
…
“What? You say the battle is already over?”
