Capítulo 756: Chapter 755: Wang Ailin’s Request

The cycle had actually reached its end, and the point in ti Chen Ke had traveled to was in 2009, which was not the “present” of this world, but the “past.”

Humankind had once again t their doom, betraying the hopes of the Foundation. But fortunately, they had found the lower half of the white entity and managed to keep the Day of Stranding at bay.

Even so, Rom was not the one chosen by the real-world Foundation; he had gained the power to control ti by devouring the remnants of deities, far from being on a par with Chen Ke.

Chen Ke was trinity incarnate, the power of the white entity, his own soul, plus the flesh of Lin Mo. He was the avatar of ancient humanity and the Outer Gods, the chosen one of destiny.

“You’ve seen it, right? Now is the ti to make a choice, I have carried this heavy burden for too long… I stole your power… Now, it’s ti to return it…” Rom said.

Rom took a long breath, it seed that this mighty force was not a blessing for him, but a tornt instead. The cosmos has its own way of maintaining balance—if you ddle with ti, ti will ddle with you.

Rom had stopped ti in the year 2137, and the cosmos would not ignore such an aberrant act. He had incurred a debt of ti, beca not but a maggot, lying in a corner of the Foundation unknown to the public, rotting and festering alone.

In his still-intact light sleep dreamscape, over a hundred thousand people lived in the fictional Sunrise, leading a false sense of stable lives.

“Kill , take back your power, let humanity enter your grand dream. That’s the only way to solve this colossal error,” Rom pleaded.

“Now is not the ti,” Chen Ke flatly refused. He didn’t want to shoulder Rom’s debt of ti, nor did he want to fall into an eternal slumber, which was no different from death.

The Divine Descent Sect was just being true to themselves, suggesting that Chen Ke choose the path of deep sleep, whether in dreams or reality.

But however you cut it, such a choice was not wrong. The grand dream was indeed a way to escape. At least humankind could continue to exist, no matter in what form.

But Chen Ke was not yet ready to make the sacrifice, whether it was snapping his fingers to restart the world or returning to the Illusion Dream Center for an extended dream, none was a good option.

“Maybe there will be new choices, Rom. We don’t have to be so pessimistic,” Chen Ke said.

“New…?” Rom, hearing what Chen Ke said, also harbored so hope.

“I will try to find a way out, but before that, you’ll have to keep on living,” Chen Ke said.

Rom had to stay alive, and the Foundation could not collapse either… Without anyone to supply energy to Rom, it would die, and once no one shouldered the debt of ti, the 999th cycle would descend upon the real world.

The residual echoes from the dreamscape would strand in reality, Spiritual Energy would cease to exist, and then, facing the divine might of the sun god with no Spiritual Power, the inhabitants of the dream would et their death.

“I jumped here from the A-side of 2137, with my companions, and we got stuck in a cycle space. Is this your doing?” Chen Ke asked.

“No, you guys… just happened to jump into one of the rooms in the circular prison containnt asures,” Rom sighed.

Chen Ke uttered an “Oh,” no wonder, it seed like bad luck that the containnt room they entered contained such an infinite loop space, who could tell how vast the space truly was.

“If you can pull in here, you can get us out,” Chen Ke said again.

Rom did not deny it. It began to moan at length, a sound like soone half speaking in their sleep upon waking.

Behind Chen Ke, there ca the sound of falling. Lucina, Diana, and Xu Jing appeared out of thin air and landed on the ground with a thud.

“Oh… What’s going on?!” Diana rose from the ground, looked up, and found herself staring at a giant maggot.

The other two witches, too, recovered from their shock and imdiately adopted a combative stance.

Chen Ke quickly intervened, saying, “Easy, girls, easy.”

Seeing Chen Ke, Diana and Lucina cald down instantly, only Xu Jing remained on guard, as they all suppressed their disgust to size up the fat maggot behind Chen Ke.

Chen Ke briefly explained the situation and then turned to Xu Jing to see what she had to say.

“So he’s the World Stabilizer now? I don’t know anything about Antarctica, the Foundation never ntioned it,” Xu Jing shook her head. She indicated that she didn’t believe what the maggot had said.

“Wait until we find Wang Ailin, then I’ll make you understand,” said Chen Ke. He still had a Holy Diamond in his possession, and now both Xu Jing and Lucina had the ability to enlighten it. Chen Ke decided to let Xu Jing have a look first, but not here.

“You’re looking for… Miss Wang Ailin?” Rom suddenly interjected.

“Do you know where she is?” Diana hurriedly asked.

“Ah… Such a smart girl… She often cos to my dreams… discussing subjects concerning gods and ti with ,” said Rom.

“Have you done anything to her?!” Diana suddenly beca agitated, and Chen Ke grabbed her arm, afraid she would accidentally kill Rom.

“Why would you think that? We were just engaged in so academic discussions,” Rom replied.

“Can you bring her here?” asked Chen Ke.

“No, she’s not in the dreams now, but I can send you there. White Son of Prophecy, go and search for a new path for humanity, while I can still hold on…” Rom said.

As soon as he finished speaking, Chen Ke and the three others imdiately noticed that their surroundings had changed. They stood in a gray corridor, with green lines painted on the floor, indicating the directions to various labs.

“Is this a Foundation controlled by the Divine Descent Sect?” Xu Jing looked around; the place was familiar to her. She had been to the gray buildings of the research block a few tis, which were close to the sky and seed more regular than the underground containnt facilities.

There were no windows in the Foundation building, and the pallid lighting was anxiety-inducing. Diana was already impatient, and the four of them moved ahead quietly, gently pushing open each door to search for Wang Ailin.

Finally, in a lab at the end of the corridor, they discovered the familiar silhouette. Wang Ailin was in a white research coat, looking at sothing on her computer.

Diana, heedless of everything, rushed in and hugged Wang Ailin from behind, excitedly calling her na.

Chen Ke leaned against the door, drawing his automatic rifle in case the noise attracted anyone. Lucina and Xu Jing controlled the room, checking for other threats.

“Ailin! Ailin, I’ll never lose you again…” Diana hugged Wang Ailin and wept with joy.

Wang Ailin was startled too, but her reaction to seeing Diana was sowhat cold.

“Diana? How… are you here?” Wang Ailin asked indifferently, then turned back to the screen.

“Did they do sothing to you? You look like you’ve aged several years…” Diana was anxious as she observed Wang Ailin, feeling that the other had sohow beco a different person.

“No… no, nothing, everything is fine. This place is much better than the Spiritual Ability Research Institute. Diana, are you still working at the Administration Bureau?” Wang Ailin asked absently.

“Are you sure she’s the one you’re looking for? She doesn’t seem very enthusiastic,” Lucina remarked sarcastically.

Chen Ke holstered his gun, entered the lab, closed the door behind him, and then approached Wang Ailin, saying, “Wang Ailin, we need to go.”

Wang Ailin looked at Chen Ke, and her initially dismissive expression beca radiant. She imdiately stood up, excited and agitated.

“Chen Ke?! It’s just as they said… you’re it! You’re that thing! My God…” Wang Ailin was very excited, clasping her hands tightly together, sizing up Chen Ke.

“A lot has happened since you were taken. We need to get out of here, and I’ll tell you everything slowly,” Diana said.

“No, right now, Chen Ke, mate with across species!” Wang Ailin exclaid excitedly.

“What?” Chen Ke was stunned.
