Chapter 755: Chapter 754: Ti Stranded

“You don’t look like a friend of the world. What are you eating?” Chen Ke looked at the half-eaten white thigh.

“Tell , stranger, are you from the Savior Sect or the Divine Descent Sect?” Maggots writhed within its body, as its skin exuded a foul-slling fluid.

“I am not from either.” Chen Ke said.

The maggot was silent for a while, then opened the large mouth beneath its face, emitting a long, rumbling noise. Chen Ke didn’t know if it was yawning or moaning in pain.

“They sent many to seek answers, but all in vain. Are you one of them?” the maggot asked.

“I am not like you.” Chen Ke shook his head. The maggot before him revealed no information, not belonging to any Clan, deity, or mutated creature—perhaps, it was sothing special.

His left eye blinked red, preparing to see if the maggot was hiding sothing.

“Ah… that eye… are you…?” The maggot saw Chen Ke’s left eye and its tone beca sowhat frightened.

Chen Ke observed the maggot, who seed to suddenly revere him greatly.

“You are its incarnation… right? Please… touch the darkness of my heart… My dream has lasted too long.” the maggot said.

“If it’s not necessary, I really don’t want to touch you.” Chen Ke said.

“Please touch … Yes, you are it… Touch … and you will see all the answers.” the maggot pleaded.

Chen Ke hesitated for a mont; he had no other option but to extend his right hand, placing his palm on the maggot’s slimy skin.

The mont he touched it, a flood of information rushed into his brain like a tide. He felt as if he had fallen into an ocean of mories. The maggot’s mories and knowledge beca tangible waves, engulfing him, drifting without direction.

Human history flashed before his eyes like slides. Earth spun rapidly before Chen Ke, its dark continents becoming imnsely devastated. Over the years, humans established great civilizations, that lasted until the appearance of Spiritual Energy.

Over the use of Spiritual Energy, humans had disputes. The sect that employed it faced various oppressions. Those who could use Spiritual Energy in ancient tis were deed witches and heretics, and were executed.

It wasn’t until the late 18th to early 19th century that the world began to regard Spiritual Energy as a new direction for human developnt, and organizations like the Administration Bureau were established. Spiritual Energy didn’t appear in 1910—it erged earlier, but 1910 was rely the official acknowledgnt and disclosure of this information.

History is written by the rulers, who dictate the start dates of historical events to cover up their prior misdeeds.

The convenience of Spiritual Energy ca with dangers, but humanity had to choose a direction for developnt. Choosing between technology and Spiritual Energy wasn’t particularly hard; progress sotis accompanies sacrifices.

In 2042, the Administration Bureau rged into conventional law enforcent agencies of various nations, but as early as 1908, a visionary individual had already established the prototype of the Foundation. However, it wasn’t until 2067 that the Foundation truly stepped onto the stage of history, becoming the behemoth it is today.

The large-scale developnt of Spiritual Energy, along with the control and research by both civil and official organizations, propelled rapid human developnt. However, it wasn’t until the Antarctic event of 2137 that humanity realized the ergence of Spiritual Energy foretold a greater disaster—a cost of progress that humanity couldn’t bear.

In the spring of 2137, 20% of the Antarctic continent was enveloped by dark shadows. Every expedition team and drone sent into the shadows never returned.

As soon as the drone entered the dark shadow, it lost connection. No one knew exactly what was inside, and furthermore, the range of the dark shadow was slowly expanding. Two weeks later, 80% of Antarctica had completely vanished from Earth.

This catastrophe was referred to as “a colossal blunder,” marking the start of what the humans called the “Era of Stillness.”

“Era of Stillness… What does that an?” Chen Ke asked.

“Neither the Administration Bureau nor the Foundation can explain the existence of the dark shadow, nor can they even observe its interior. According to the expansion rate of the dark shadow, within five months, the entire Earth will be devoured by it,” explained the maggot.

The Foundation had accidentally acquired the lower half of an Outer God’s body, which possessed the ability to control ti. Although it was only half a body, it miraculously maintained a state of “pseudo-sleep,” as if the two halves of the body existed in different dinsions.

Chairman Rom of the Foundation had volunteered to consu the flesh and blood of the deity, becoming a ti-traveling maggot and helping the Foundation master the technology of ti travel.

They hoped to travel to the end of ti to explore the secrets of the dark shadow, but they discovered despairingly that by the middle of the year 2137, and before winter, the subsequent tiline ceased to exist.

This ant that human history, in that tiline, had disappeared.

Rom, who had consud the remains of the deity, froze the year 2137 in ti, taking on the universe’s temporal debt and transforming into a massive maggot, suffering from the continuous pain of cellular decay and rebirth within his body.

The Foundation then began to explore the past, hoping that uncovering historical secrets would reveal how the dark shadow was ford, but their efforts were in vain, and the imnse pressure caused many divisions within the Foundation.

The Foundation was not united but splintered into many factions based on various doctrines.

The Divine Descent Sect advocated summoning the deity and existing within dreams.

The Savior Sect advocated studying Spiritual Energy and relying on the power of science to solve the dark shadow crisis.

There were also other minor, scattered doctrines, and the internal strife drained the Foundation’s manpower and resources. The motivation of both sides to travel through ti to save the future of humanity gradually turned into assassination missions aid at erasing each other’s existence.

From a certain viewpoint, the Divine Descent Sect lost, and the Savior Sect ultimately triumphed, but during the prolonged struggle, the Savior Sect shifted from materialist to idealist thinking. They believed the existence of the dark shadow was the universe’s punishnt for humanity, and that by correcting their past and human errors, the dark shadow would completely disappear.

Thus, the Savior Sect began reshaping history according to their own will, hoping to use current technology to inspire the motivated individuals in past tilines to help resolve the dark shadow crisis.

However, the Divine Descent Sect did not disappear. Rom, who identified with the original spirit of the Savior Sect and the practices of the Divine Descent Sect, possessed the ability to dream because he had consud the deity. He split the year 2137, forming an inner-loop tiline where both factions coexisted unknowingly.

Only Rom could exist simultaneously in both tilines. To maintain Rom’s continual control over ti, the Foundation needed powerful Spiritual Ability Users to share Rom’s pain, a practice known as “human sacrifice.”

Even though Thor possessed the ability to travel through ti with his thunder, he couldn’t locate Rom, who was positioned between the cracks of ti—only Chen Ke could find him here.

Chen Ke also roughly understood why; that half-eaten white thigh likely belonged to the imnse white being’s lower body. Possessing abilities similar to Rom’s, and theoretically more advanced, it was why Rom held him in such high regard.

As for that dark shadow that appeared in Antarctica… Chen Ke also knew what it was.

It was ti stranded, aning a small part of Antarctica from 2137 had already entered the real tiline. Had Rom not stopped ti, the 999th loop might have already ended disastrously.
