Capítulo 749: Chapter 748: Human Battery
The sound behind the circular wall ceased, and Li Weigang hid on the left, tentatively taking a small step forward, but fearing to disturb Lucina, he shrank back again.
The building materials of the Foundation’s underground circular prison had undergone special treatnt, making it impossible to use the multi-energy detector attached to the mobile squad’s helts for penetrating surveillance, which made Li Weigang sowhat anxious.
Behind the circular wall, the banging sounds of impacts resud, even the floor vibrated along, after all, the circular wall was a chanically movable structure, not a lump of dead matter; it wasn’t impossible to move it with sufficient strength.
“Switch to strength mode,” Li Weigang ordered. The light strips on his armor turned red.
The other mobile squad mbers also switched their armor’s mode, in this state, the armor could provide a 400% boost to kinetic output, but the battery life would be halved.
Li Weigang didn’t believe they were about to engage in a war of attrition. Whether it was Chen Ke or those two witches, at first sight, there would definitely be an instantaneous death on one side. Moreover, this was the Foundation’s core area, more counterasures were being activated, so there was no need for much concern.
“Giggle giggle giggle…” From beneath the ground, the complex and heavy gear structure of the circular wall emitted a rolling sound, and the gap grew larger yet, now wide enough for a person to squeeze through sideways.
Li Weigang extended the light blade on his right arm a bit longer, moved it towards the gap, and positioned himself to thrust in, ready to stab anyone coming out without any hesitation, while over twenty team mbers behind and opposite him were also ready to thrust their blades in.
“Bang!” A loud bursting sound emanated from behind Li Weigang, who spun around to see a green transparent giant hand breaking through the circular wall, grabbing a team mber, and crushing him with a single squeeze.
“Attack! Attack!” Li Weigang shouted, spinning around and flying towards it, raising his energy light blade to stab at the green transparent giant hand.
The giant hand slamd the team mber in its grip to the ground, then retracted back through the hole, blood spurting from the armor’s crevices as the man was soon beyond help.
anwhile, another green hand stretched out from the circular wall’s gap, punching three team mbers to the ground. Inside the circular wall were containnt chambers, and the one that was just punctured had a refrigerator lying on the ground.
Li Weigang’s helt’s AR enhanced lens scanned the refrigerator, displaying the special attribute of the contained object, then he imdiately yelled, “Activate the protection device! Don’t look at that refrigerator!”
But it was too late. Two team mbers had already peeked through the hole to scout for Lucina’s whereabouts and had seen the refrigerator. As they looked away from it, they suddenly vanished into thin air. The next second, the door of the refrigerator opened, spilling out many frozen chunks of flesh.
At that mont, Lucina burst out from the gap, six enormous green energy arms extending from her back, each punch able to emit three massive energy pulses. The squad’s armor couldn’t withstand Lucina’s power; even in strength mode, they couldn’t resist.
Li Weigang quickly reacted, sliding at a low altitude to Lucina’s side in an instant.
Lucina threw a left hook at Li Weigang, the three glowing fists whooshing with a chilling sound and dazzling green flash, flying towards him.
Li Weigang instantly adjusted the attitude control nozzles of his armor and whooshed to the right side, the intense inertia from the short-distance velocity change making even the Foundation’s armor unable to neutralize it; a gush of blood sprayed inside the helt.
But this didn’t slow down Li Weigang; he made a cutting motion aiming for Lucina’s neck, regardless of life or death.
Lucina tilted her head, a large chunk of flesh from her right shoulder sliced off as she winced in pain, narrowing her eyes with a cry. At that mont, the remaining team mbers rushed up, their light blades all plunging into Lucina’s body.
Lucina’s back, waist, and thighs were pierced by nurous blue light blades, the pain so intense she couldn’t speak, feeling as if her intestines and internal organs were evaporating.
Her regenerative ability as the Furious Witch allowed her to continuously heal the damaged parts. Despite the pain, Lucina grabbed Li Weigang’s helt, her eyes flashing with green fury, and with a crack, she crushed his head like a persimmon, splattering his brains.
Six green energy fists kept pounding, turning the mobile squad mbers into tinned lunch at. Those trying to flee were caught by the wrist and brutally slamd to the ground, then flattened by several fists.
After wreaking havoc, Lucina, covered in blood from the stab wounds inflicted by the light blades, felt extrely weak despite the wounds slowly healing. Holding her wounded abdon, Lucina staggered toward the control room, leaving a trail of blood and a bloody ss all over.
From the monitor screen, she saw Chen Ke and Diana and greeted them through the microphone.
“I see, huff, you guys. I’m about to bring these walls down now,” Lucina’s voice ca through the loudspeaker.
Chen Ke had already heard the commotion and seen the battle through his Spiritual Vision, finding Lucina’s voice strained. He couldn’t speak to Lucina now; he had to wait for her next move.
“Let see how to play with this thing…” Lucina looked at the dense array of keys; there was a lot more on this console than on a PC keyboard, she randomly flipped so switches, activating a nearby gateway scan.
“Shit… not this…” Lucina’s vision was a bit blurry. She clenched her fists, tensed up all the muscles in her body, and the green magic power stripes glowed once again, rapidly closing up the bloody wounds on her flesh at a visibly quick pace.
She took a deep breath, still feeling sowhat faint, but at least the wounds on the outside of her body were completely healed. She had not yet mastered this power and couldn’t use it as adeptly as Olivia. If it were Olivia, she might’ve bounced back to life by now.
Chen Ke waited for a while, then the circular walls around him slowly lowered, revealing a ground littered with the squashed and burst corpses of the mobile unit mbers.
He and Diana imdiately ran to the control room and saw Lucina sitting on the console, covered in dried blood, with her ponytail also drenched in blood and sticking to her back.
Chen Ke stepped forward to check on Lucina, but didn’t find any wounds—she must have healed herself. However, her spirit was still low, as if she had been exhausted after being fucked over a hundred tis.
“You should have stayed with instead of rushing out alone,” Chen Ke said.
“I was afraid you’d throw into the Teleportation Gate. Don’t underestimate ,” Lucina said, raising her fist and lightly punching Chen Ke’s shoulder, lacking her usual strength.
“Do you need to carry you? Little tiger?” Diana asked with concern.
“I’m covered in blood,” Lucina laughed.
“I don’t mind. Chen Ke didn’t care when he carried out of the underworld,” Diana said.
Lucina turned to look at Chen Ke.
“The situation was pretty bad at that ti…” Chen Ke started to explain.
Lucina grabbed Chen Ke’s collar, cutting him off, and kissed him. Twelve seconds later, she looked at him longingly and said, “I know, you’re that kind of man.”
She jumped down from the console and said, “Look, I think I’ve found that electrifying bitch.”
Lucina pressed a few keys on the console, and one of the screens displayed a new image. Chen Ke saw a woman imprisoned in an iron tank, with hoses the thickness of an adult’s arm plugged into her body and reaching up to the ceiling, apparently transferring energy to sothing.
“This must be tough for her… What does the Foundation plan to do with a witch?” Diana said pityingly.
“I don’t know, but it seems like they’re planning to use you all like batteries. After she’s drained, it’ll be your turn,” Chen Ke said.
“That’s just fucking great,” Lucina sighed.
“I know where that place is… but could you be a little gentler next ti, Chen Ke?” a sudden voice interrupted the three of them.
Chen Ke turned and saw Xu Jing holding her stomach and leaning against the door of the control room.
“So now you know how painful it is to get punched in the stomach,” Diana mocked coldly.
“You’re not planning to kill yourself now, are you?” Chen Ke asked.
“The coin hasn’t shattered, unless I die once, but it’s a price worth paying… I don’t want to live in lies and illusions,” Xu Jing said.
“Asking this now is a bit out of place… but I want to ask you, do you know a woman nad Wang Ailin?” asked Diana abruptly.
“I don’t know her,” Xu Jing replied imdiately without any thought.
“She’s not on this side. Diana, after we find Srud and settle what needs to be settled, let’s go to side B to look for Wang Ailin,” Chen Ke promised.
Diana nodded.
Lucina leaned on Chen Ke, half because she was weak and half pretending, and Chen Ke didn’t care. He embraced the blood-covered Lucina and asked Xu Jing to lead the way.
“What exactly does the Foundation want to charge up using a witch? Do you know?” Chen Ke asked.
