Chapter 557: Chapter 557: The Great Heist Case: Spiritual Ability Administration: Completed
Chen Ke returned to the Illusion Dream Center, where Diana was nestled in bed wrapped in a blanket, and Lucina was sitting at the head of the bed, dozing off against the wall.
Parker sat by the table, and imdiately stood up when he saw Chen Ke enter. During the first ti Chen Ke opened the door, Parker and the others had seen Superman fall.
“Hey! Chen Ke, we were just getting worried. It looks like you’ve run into so serious trouble,” Parker said hastily, glancing at Chen Ke’s suit, which had a big hole at the abdon, and the sleeve of the right arm was missing.
“It’s no big problem,” Chen Ke didn’t seem too concerned. He looked at Lucina; she was quite badly injured, and this mission was too much for an ordinary person like her.
Diana was also not lightly wounded, but as a Witch, she shared a certain degree of self-healing ability with Chen Ke; at least for now, Diana only seed a bit tired.
“Diana? How is she?” Chen Ke asked.
“I think she’d better take the opportunity to go to the hospital,” said Diana, shrugging within the blanket.
Chen Ke walked over to Lucina and slowly lifted the hem of her clothes; Lucina’s side was bruised and swollen, suggesting severe internal injuries.
“We can’t go to the hospital,” Chen Ke shook his head.
“I know that, of course, but unless soone here knows dicine, her condition will only get worse,” Diana said.
“I know who to ask for help,” Chen Ke said.
At this mont, Lucina woke up. She rubbed her eyes and, upon seeing Chen Ke standing beside her, imdiately perked up.
“What was that thing?” The first thing Lucina asked about was that.
“What thing?” Chen Ke responded.
“Don’t pretend you don’t know, that person who crashed through the ceiling and fell down, what was that thing?” Lucina punched Chen Ke lightly.
“If I’m not mistaken, it was Superman,” Diana said.
Parker looked at Diana with a surprised expression.
“Yes, it was Superman, but he’s already dead,” Chen Ke said.
“You even… you can beat Superman? I thought you had just found a chance to slip back here…” Even Diana could hardly believe it.
“If you’re ever fortunate enough to face Superman, believe , unless you kill him, there’s no chance you’ll have to slip away…” Chen Ke shook his head.
The battle with Superman had pushed Chen Ke to his limits. If it weren’t necessary, he would not want to gamble with his life against such an opponent again. It was just like fighting a beast among n.
“You killed Superman and took over the Administration Bureau; the United Federation no longer has a place for you, and neither do we,” Diana said, shaking her head.
“Chen Ke will have a way, you don’t need to be so down,” Lucina frowned.
“You better take care of yourself first; I don’t want to attend your funeral just yet,” Chen Ke said.
“I’m fine; you better not treat like I’m just a vase,” Lucina retorted stubbornly.
“Oh? Is that so? Is that so?” Chen Ke said while touching Lucina’s side.
Lucina’s body trembled, and she curled up against the wall.
“So… did we succeed in the end? Did you find what you were looking for?” Parker asked.
“I found it,” Chen Ke nodded.
Diana’s face changed slightly at this point. It seed like she wanted to ask sothing, but she held back. Chen Ke noticed Diana’s hesitation, pulled over a chair, and sat down.
“I didn’t kill Madeline; she will be the hero who saved the day,” Chen Ke said.
“Thank you,” Diana said.
Chen Ke stood up again, pulled the door open, and on the opposite side was Lucina’s ho. Priskin and Hall were anxiously waiting in the living room at the ti. Upon seeing Chen Ke, they all rushed over.
“We were worried sick! Dammit! A superhuman is dead! You’re not saying you did it, are you?!” Hall said with a laugh.
“It’s not sothing to brag about,” Chen Ke said.
“The more I learn about you, Chen Ke, the less I understand. Is there anything you can’t kill?” Priskin was also sowhat agitated.
Chen Ke didn’t say anything more. He found so clothes for Diana in Lucina’s room and then called Li Moyang, asking him to help with Lucina’s treatnt, which he agreed to promptly.
In return, Chen Ke handed over a cabinet full of Holy Diamonds he had obtained from the Administration Bureau’s archives to Hall and Priskin. Although all of these Holy Diamonds were only of the blue level, their large quantity was likely more than what so had privately hoarded, and secretly smuggling them abroad would yield a considerable sum—at least several tens of millions of union coins.
Hall and Priskin couldn’t take away so many at once. They packed the Holy Diamonds into body bags, about seventy or eighty packages, and used a pickup truck to take them away in six trips. Of course, Chen Ke cautioned them to wait so ti before selling the diamonds and to be careful of the Administration Bureau’s informants in the Holy Relics smuggling market.
Chen Ke had another cabinet full of Holy Diamonds, but there were too many, and he didn’t bother to inspect each one, as they were not much help to him. Given the current severity of the battles, at the very least, he would need orange-level ones to be of any use. So, he let the cabinet full of Holy Diamonds stay in the Dinsion Pocket, to be dealt with later if needed.
The complete set of equipnt stripped from the superhuman was incredibly powerful—all purple-level! Chen Ke thought he would take a closer look at them when everything was over and he was alone.
Li Moyang was highly efficient, and he sent a black van. An Asian female doctor with six assistants entered Lucina’s ho to treat her.
Lucina refused to recuperate in the manor Li Moyang offered, insisting on staying in her own ho. So, after the doctor had finished bandaging and treating her, leaving a list of essential dicines behind, she left.
With the heist now over, Chen Ke and his team had been placed on the special wanted list, not just in Opportunity City, but they could no longer move freely in any state within the United Federation. They had beco highly dangerous fugitives.
But Chen Ke didn’t care, his attitude sothing the other three couldn’t quite understand—at least, Diana had always been puzzled about what Chen Ke really wanted to do.
Chen Ke felt that, at this point, it was ti to tell them everything.
This robbery had now tied Diana, Lucina, and Parker to him. They had nowhere to go, no intention to betray, and after he killed a superhuman, they lacked the ability to confront him.
The four sat at the table in the Illusion Dream Center, with that green Holy Diamond placed at the center of the table.
“Look, this is it,” Chen Ke said.
“Is there sothing special about it?” Lucina, wrapped in bandages, squinted at the diamond.
“I don’t know, but so call it the Godheart Shard. It’s said there are six, or maybe seven, or eight… anyway, there are a lot,” Chen Ke said.
“Hmm… I don’t have an appraisal machine; otherwise, I could help you see what it really is,” Diana said.
“You can’t see it, and this thing can’t be summoned either. It’s not a common Holy Relic,” Chen Ke shook his head.
“You haven’t been… deceived, have you?” Parker asked tentatively.
“No, from what I rember, it’s always been like this,” Chen Ke denied.
“So, Chen Ke, what do you want this for?” Diana asked.
With that question, the others also looked at Chen Ke.
“I know you’ve been helping unconditionally before, and I haven’t explained anything to you, nor have I made clear about this space. I think it’s ti to tell you these things, but… you should know, this matter is insane. Believe it or not, that’s up to you, but I assure you, I’m not lying,” Chen Ke said.
“At this point, even if you made up a story, we’d have to believe it,” Lucina said.
“Alright, I’ll try to keep it simple. Let organize my thoughts first,” Chen Ke said.
He hung his head in thought. Where to start? How to explain? How could he make it easier for them to accept? Of course, he definitely couldn’t reveal he was a transmigrator.
He raised his head, looked at the three, and started:
“What if I told you humanity is already extinct, would you believe ?”
