Chen Ke pulled Diana out from the ice, removed his armor, and held her in his arms. At that mont, Parker also transford back into human form, picked up an HK416 from the ground, and kept a vigilant watch over their surroundings.
“Where’s Lucina?” Chen Ke asked.
“She’s inside, hopefully unhard. Those special forces ca too quickly,” Diana said, her voice distorted, sounding neither human nor ghost.
“Who are those people? P.W.A.T isn’t that tough,” Chen Ke said.
“They are R6, the United Federation’s high-level Spiritual Ability Special Forces. Their spiritual energy levels are higher than the Administration Bureau’s field agents. You might say they are the most spiritually potent among regular troops,” Diana explained.
“I’ve witnessed the power of the Fla Witch. You still need practice,” Chen Ke said.
“Hmm… are you blaming , Chen Ke?” Diana smiled wryly.
“It looks like you burnt your clothes,” Chen Ke said.
Diana covered her chest and lower body with her hands, embarrassed by the darkness around.
However, although Diana had been shot multiple tis and even had her abdon pierced by a spiritual energy blade, her wounds had all healed automatically in her fla form. Now, she just felt extrely tired, as Chen Ke had said, her powers as a witch were not yet fully honed.
Chen Ke took off his suit jacket and draped it over Diana, then he got up and patted Parker.
“Look after her for , I’m going to find Lucina,” Chen Ke said.
Chen Ke stepped into the doorway, and under the observation of his Spiritual Vision, found Lucina on the other side of the collapsed floor, lying on the ground, looking uncomfortable.
There was no way to get there directly from here, so he jumped down eleven floors, arriving at the small office doorway below, and looked up calling Lucina’s na.
“Lucina? Can you stand up?”
Lucina took a deep breath, propped herself up with her left arm, leaning against the office doorway. The door, riddled with bullets, fell with a clang, and Chen Ke hastily stepped back as the door slamd down beside him.
“Hey… did you find what you were looking for?” Lucina asked.
“No, it seems like you’re in a bad way,” Chen Ke replied.
“It’s nothing… just got beaten up by a muscular brute, damn… that uppercut really hurt,” Lucina coughed a few tis.
“Let get you out, can you jump down?” Chen Ke asked.
“If it were before… I would have just jumped… but not now,” Lucina said.
“Where did you get hurt?” Chen Ke asked.
“I don’t know… my whole body is in pain… damn it,” Lucina cursed.
“Jump down, I’ll catch you,” Chen Ke said.
“Oh… I can’t refuse that offer… but… can you really catch ? It’s so dark?” Lucina’s head poked out from above, searching for Chen Ke’s figure below.
“I can catch you, I can see you, quickly, girl,” Chen Ke spread his arms wide, positioning himself directly beneath Lucina’s silhouette.
“You better… catch … I really can’t afford to fall right now,” Lucina said cautiously.
“Co on… quickly…” Chen Ke shook his hands.
Lucina steadied her breath, used her arms to pull herself to the edge of the large hole in the floor, then closed her eyes and allowed herself to fall.
Chen Ke deftly caught Lucina, letting her land safely in his arms. At that mont, his calves and upper arms suddenly felt an imnse pressure as if a force from the ground was pulling him down.
“Damn it!” Chen Ke silently gritted his teeth, tensed his thighs, and firmly caught Lucina, preventing her from hitting the ground.
“All right… all right… we’ll go et up with Diana. Can you walk?” Chen Ke asked.
“I can’t,” Lucina replied.
With no other option, Chen Ke had to carry Lucina as they hurried to the 12th-floor corridor, where the four of them finally gathered together.
“What kind of trouble did you run into? How co you’re all so badly injured?”
Chen Ke set Lucina down; she leaned against the wall to rest, with Diana sitting beside her. At this stage of the operation, Chen Ke felt it was already a failure.
“Lucina encountered Steve… he’s not soone easy to ss with,” Diana replied.
“Steve? Who is he?” Chen Ke asked.
“Steve Rogers, head of the CPA. One of the five heads of the Administration Bureau. If you ask … Lucina was lucky not to be killed by him,” Diana said.
“Captain Arica?” Chen Ke was startled.
“Huh? What’s that?” Lucina was unfamiliar.
“I didn’t manage to kill him, I was close… but he ran. I suspect he has betrayed the Administration Bureau, he vanished through a door that appeared behind him, so strange thing pulled him inside,” Diana explained.
“No matter what forces are behind him, they’re no trouble to us now,” Chen Ke was unconcerned.
“Chen Ke, did you find what you were looking for?” Diana asked.
“Uh… we looked for a while… didn’t find it,” Parker said.
“Didn’t find it?” At this, Lucina suddenly stood up.
“You’re okay?” the three looked at her.
“I’m not a porcelain doll; I just got punched a few tis. But, Chen Ke, we’ve already offended the Administration Bureau, do you understand what that ans? If you didn’t find what you wanted here…” Lucina said.
“I know, and I don’t care. Since we’ve already co this far, we might as well kick them while they’re down,” Chen Ke said.
“No matter what you want to do, I advise you to hurry. We just took out two teams of R6, the Administration Bureau has reached its limit, which ans higher level security asures will be initiated,” Diana said.
“You ntioned the five heads of the Administration Bureau, who are they?” Chen Ke asked.
“The head of the Opportunity City branch, Mrs. Madeline… also known as Mrs. M, Steve as head of the CPA, Donald who heads the FPI, the executive manager Leo, and Reggie who handles P.W.A.T. Clearly, if we’re lucky, the closest to us right now should be Mrs. Madeline… if she’s still at headquarters… that would be right above us,” Diana pointed upwards.
Chen Ke looked up, his Spiritual Vision sweeping across, and noticed a group of people moving frantically in a floor above.
“Mrs. M… we’ve lost contact with R6, it seems the situation is more severe than expected,” an agent said.
Mrs. Madeline remained silent, her brow furrowed, pondering somberly.
“Mrs.M, please enter your personal safety house, we have initiated high-level security procedures and contacted Congress…” the agent advised.
“Diana…” Mrs. Madeline sighed, turned around, and instructed the monitoring room’s agents to stop their work.
“Everyone go take shelter, let’s hope they don’t co up here,” Mrs. Madeline said.
