"Madeline, two platoons of R6 are in position, on the first floor," a special agent in a white shirt turned to Madeline.
Madeline looked at the surveillance screens as if pondering sothing. After a mont, she said to the agent, "Get Captain Scott."
"Right away." The agent handed an earpiece to Madeline and then turned off the recorder.
"The teams are in position, you can seal the building now," Scott’s hoarse voice ca through the earpiece.
"I don’t need you to tell that. The targets are on the 12th floor, two won. One mutated individual, one ordinary person," Madeline said.
"The briefing ntioned four targets," Scott said.
"The other two are being dealt with by soone else," Madeline said.
"Suit yourself," Scott said.
Madeline held the earpiece, turned around, hesitated for a mont, and then said, "Oh, and Scott, try to capture the mutated individual alive if possible."
"I can’t promise that," Scott replied.
"Do your best," Madeline’s tone carried an elent of command.
"Then good luck to her," Scott said, ending the communication.
Diana’s fire had turned the corridor into a black waste, incinerating at least three teams of P.W.A.T by the scorching Witch’s Fla, turning them into dried-up twisted black charred corpses piled at the passage. Scatterings of unexploded Spirit Power Sealing Hand Grenade shells lay burnt on the ground.
"Boom, boom, boom..."
The sound of large machinery stopping ca from inside the building and imdiately after, all the corridor windows were covered with iron shutters and the rooms plunged into darkness.
"What happened? Did we lose power?" Lucina shouted from inside her office.
Diana retreated to her room and lit a small fla on her index finger to provide light. Finding Lucina, she said, "It’s the Administration Bureau’s red alert protocol. The building is sealed."
"It doesn’t matter. Anyway, we aren’t going out through the main door," Lucina’s face appeared in the glow of the tiny fla as she blew on Diana’s fingertip and found it unextinguishable.
"Wow, that’s the best lighter," Lucina said.
"You’re still able to joke... Lucina, aren’t you afraid of dying?" Diana asked.
"We’ve already survived the hardest part, they’ve just sealed the building is all. Chen Ke will find a way to get us out, why are you scared?" Lucina retorted.
"You don’t understand what this ans... it ans they’ve deployed the Spiritual Ability Special Forces," Diana shook her head.
"P.W.A.T, right? Give a gun, I can handle them," Lucina said.
"No, no... Not them, it’s R6..." Diana said.
"R...6? What is that?" Lucina asked, confused.
"That’s a special forces team comprised of Spiritual Ability Users, whose skills far surpass those of Administration Bureau agents, and they’re not even under the Bureau’s command but are deployed by the military in the most critical situations. You wouldn’t want to fight them..." Diana explained.
"Your fire tricks can handle them, right? Aren’t you a witch?" Lucina said.
"Lucina... Fighting isn’t sothing pleasant and I’ve killed enough people for today," Diana said sternly.
anwhile, in the dark corridor, the remaining agents, staff, and mbers of the P.W.A.T were retreating downstairs. In the eerily quiet evacuation, two platoons of heavily ard agents in black, belonging to R6, were moving against the flow upstairs.
"Is... is it R6?" so P.W.A.T mbers guessed, since in this scenario, only the military or R6 would be deployed.
The two R6 platoons, sixteen total, reached the tenth floor and set up sensor mines at the stairway entrance, then switched their night vision goggles to thermal imaging and held HK416 Spiritual Energy custom versions. They wore tight black latex combat suits with small packs at their waists containing several Holy Diamonds.
"Alright, let’s review the brief on our targets. Two won, one mutated individual, one ordinary woman. The mutated individual’s offensive ans are flas, and she was forrly a level 9 agent of the Administration Bureau. This ans she is well aware of her current situation and knows the structure of this building well. It’s not ruled out that she still has access to all the skills mastered during her agent period and she might be plainly aware of the combat thods of the Spiritual Ability Special Forces," Captain Scott whispered.
The squad mbers remained silent.
"So, we might only have one opportunity to fully incapacitate her upon encounter, otherwise the situation could beco very tricky," Scott reiterated.
"The plan goes like this, their location is the docunt archive office on the 12th floor. Team A, follow , we’ll head up the stairs and block off both ends of the corridor. Team B, follow Cole, go below at the 11th-floor docunt archive office and set up C4 on the ceiling. Team A, from the 12th-floor corridor towards the target room, will launch Spirit Power Sealing Hand Grenades and flashbangs with a grenade launcher, then Team B will detonate the C4, destroying their foothold," Scott instructed.
Cole nodded.
"Even if she doesn’t die, she’ll at least be incapacitated. If we find her in the ruins, we’ll concentrate fire and take her out. Understood?" Scott looked towards his teammates.
"Understood."
"Understood."
"Understood."
...
Everyone nodded.
"Let’s start the operation." Scott loaded his gun and led his team upstairs.
Basent level three, the archives.
"All quiet now..."
In the darkness, Parker’s voice was a bit loud.
"Shh..." Chen Ke’s eyes were like two blue dots in the dark, scanning the surrounding cautiously. At least within the archives, there was no one.
"I just heard a clanging sound, sothing got locked." Parker whispered.
"I guess they’re sealing the building." Chen Ke said.
"What should we do? I didn’t bring a flashlight, now we can’t search." Parker asked.
"We’ll go up and find Diana and the others." Chen Ke said.
"Not searching anymore?" Parker asked.
"No, I’m tired of looking for a needle in a haystack. Why don’t we find the head of the Administration Bureau and ask him where he’s hidden this thing?" Chen Ke said.
"Good idea, you should have started with that." Parker nodded.
"Let’s go up." Chen Ke said.
Parker flew next to Chen Ke and reford into human shape. In the dark, they couldn’t see each other’s faces.
Before leaving, Chen Ke thought for a mont, placed his hand on a nearby cabinet, and with a thought, he whooshed the entire cabinet, filled with thousands of Holy Diamonds across dozens of drawers, into his Dinsion Pocket.
This was the first ti he had stored sothing so large. He really didn’t know the limits of the Dinsion Pocket—could it store cars and houses too?
Chen Ke tried and stored another cabinet. It succeeded, and two cabinets full of Holy Relics disappeared on the spot, all transferred into his own space.
Just as he was about to store the third cabinet, a line of text suddenly appeared in front of him: Weight limit reached.
Chen Ke suddenly understood... His Dinsion Pocket’s storage unit was weight, not number...
"Let’s go, Chen Ke. It’s too quiet here, and I have a bad feeling." Parker said.
Chen Ke humd in agreent and followed Parker upstairs.
"I have a bad feeling..." Diana paced nervously inside the room, keeping a vigilant eye on the door. She hadn’t heard any noise but felt uneasy.
"Is it R6? Have they co?" Lucina asked.
"I don’t know. Do you feel anything under our feet?" Diana looked down, feeling uneasy.
Lucina kept silent, listening intently.
"Pop!" The sound of a grenade launcher.
In the dark, sothing hit the door and bounced to the floor.
Diana realized sothing. She pushed Lucina violently into a small office with her right hand, while her left hand sprayed a scorching wave of flas towards the door.
The next second, an explosion ca from beneath Diana’s feet. Splinters of concrete and stone shards pierced her thighs and lower body. The floor cracked, and Diana fell down with the debris.
