Lucina put on her jeans and ca out from the underground staircase, walking past an iron gate into the fishery.
Three n in sunglasses appeared in front of her, dressed in neat suits, the leader of whom perfectly matched the spy image depicted in spy movies. They had a businesslike expression as if everything was non-negotiable.
“We’re looking for Chen Ke,” the agent stated bluntly. One of them even covered his nose, seemingly unable to stand the sll of fish.
“Huh? Never heard of that na,” Lucina said, raising an eyebrow.
“Miss Lucina, I will only say this once,” the agent said.
“Oh, then make it brief,” Lucina said with her arms crossed.
“We understand Chen Ke a lot more than you do, so you needn’t hide anything from us. What you need to do now is simple, tell us where he is, then go find yourself a new boyfriend and no one will bother you again, you can continue living your life,” the agent said.
“Are you done?” Lucina asked.
“Yes,” the agent replied.
“Well, I’m also only going to say this once. I don’t fucking know you, nor do I know any Chen Ke. What you need to do now is simple, turn around, roll back to where you ca from, and never bother again,” Lucina said with a smile.
The three agents looked at Lucina coldly, then glanced at the laboring fishery workers around them.
“Miss Lucina, we hope you will consider our request more maturely and carefully, otherwise we might et again in a less pleasant manner,” the agent said.
“Are you threatening ?” Lucina asked.
“That’s right,” the agent nodded.
“The bus station is over there,” Lucina pointed towards the street opposite the fishery.
“Hope you won’t regret it, Miss Lucina,” the agent said.
After that, the three n took another look around the fishery and then discreetly left.
As Lucina watched the backs of the departing agents, a wave of unease climbed up her heart, and she imdiately returned to the underground safe house and picked up her phone to call her father, Hainerd.
“Dad… Agents from the Administration Bureau just ca to the fishery asking to tell them where Chen Ke is, they seem to know about the relationship between Chen Ke and us…” Lucina said.
Hainerd was initially stunned, the thing he had always feared had still happened.
“Did they just want to find Chen Ke? Did they ntion a postman?” Hainerd asked.
“No, I don’t know how much they know about the postman, but the fishery is definitely under their surveillance now…” Lucina worried.
“We might have to be ready to give up that place, I knew Chen Ke would eventually cause trouble…” Hainerd sighed.
“Dad… Do you know what Chen Ke does every ti he leaves?” Lucina asked.
“I don’t know, I’ve asked, but he never tells, but I know he was an assassin before he joined the postn,” Hainerd said.
“I think it’s not just that, Dad… I’ve been keeping a secret for him, I think I should tell you now…” Lucina said.
“What did he tell you?” Hainerd asked.

“I… I can’t hear his heartbeat, nor can I feel his body temperature… Other than that, he’s just like a normal person. Dad, now is not the ti to talk about this, no matter what you say, I won’t give up on him,” Lucina said.
“I know, I didn’t an it that way. Compared to those beasts I know, Chen Ke is more like a person, that’s why I allow you to be involved with him,” Hainerd said.
“What if he is sothing… locked up by the Administration Bureau, and he ran away…” Lucina speculated as she spoke.
“I’m afraid so, the Administration Bureau and the Research Institute have special places for containing strange things, maybe Chen Ke escaped from there… Damn, if that’s true, we can’t help,” Hainerd said.
“I don’t know, I feel terrible, I watched him last night… never mind, he’s gone, I can’t find him, Dad, what should I do?” Lucina pulled her hair, pacing back and forth anxiously in the safe house.

Lucina grabbed the shotgun lying on the table, loaded it with four deer bullets, and racked it.
If her guess was right, if Chen Ke really was sothing that had escaped from the Administration Bureau, what was she going to do in the future?
Nobody would be foolish enough to confront the Administration Bureau, it was like confronting the state itself. Plus, if the Administration Bureau wanted to find soone, they always would, there was no escaping.
“There has to be a way… there has to be a way…” Lucina muttered to herself.
“Beep beep!” The sound of a car horn blared in the street, just a few minutes had passed, had Hainerd already co back? That was too quick.
Lucina rushed out of the safe house and walked toward the street outside the fish farm, the road was empty, not a single car in sight.
“Fuck, did I hear wrong?” Lucina sighed, turning back.
The hot air hit her face, the fla blood like a flower in front of her. Then ca a powerful blast, hurling her six ters into the air.
Last, the deafening explosion.
“Boom!”
Lucina flew through the air for three seconds, hitting a streetlamp opposite her and bouncing back, crashing face upward onto the scorching asphalt road.
Flas soared, the blue afternoon sky twisted with steam, Lucina felt like her bones were falling apart, a hot stream flowed from her ears, and the fish farm turned into a high-pressure cooker spewing fire.
Many fishern scread as they escaped from the factory, their skin lting, the strong fishy sll mingling with the scent of charred flesh assaulted Lucina’s nostrils.
She couldn’t comprehend what could have ignited the fish farm in an instant when three agents in suits appeared in her sight.
“Miss Lucina, just like I said before, our next eting wouldn’t be as pleasant or brief,” an agent said.
“Go… go to hell…” Lucina said, trying to sit up.
An agent stomped heavily on Lucina’s abdon, his heel embedding deep into her flesh, her neck turning red, her tongue protruding from her mouth.
“We need to have a good talk,” the agent said.
“I won’t tell you anything,” Lucina glared and said.
“I don’t want to talk with you, but with your body,” the agent coldly said.
He kicked Lucina’s chin fiercely, and she imdiately passed out.
