Chapter 460: Chapter 460 [Victoria Plague: His Offspring] Discontinued

In another compartnt, another Chen Ke stood in front of the rack that held Xu Jing’s body, composed as if everything was under control.

Xu Jing’s organs, long exposed, had dried sowhat, but because they had been continuously injected with a kind of glowing blue liquid, they still functioned as intended.

Half of her exposed brain was connected to many thin wires, and on the laptop screen beside her, her vital signs were displayed. There was also a small black box that could instantly convert Xu Jing’s thoughts into text characters.

“He’s here. How long do you think it’ll take him to find this place?” another Chen Ke looked at Xu Jing and taunted.

“He will kill you.” A line appeared on the computer screen.

In the anti, the air grew unbearably hot, and outside the compartnt door, a cacophony of ghastly wails and howls echoed. A red-hot armored figure pried open the thick tal door and stepped inside.

The armored figure was also Chen Ke, who imdiately noticed Xu Jing’s horrific state but also keenly realized that Xu Jing was not dead but painfully alive.

“Your n, not a single Spiritual Ability User among them.” Chen Ke recalled the An Helei armor, eyeing the man before him.

“That kind of power doesn’t belong to humans.” the other Chen Ke said.

“Easy for you to say, are you not happily becoming part of the Clan?” Chen Ke snorted coldly.

“It’s a sacrifice.” the other Chen Ke shook his head.

“You just want to monopolize this power.” Chen Ke said.

“Now, there’s only a distance of ten steps between you and , I spared you yesterday, hoping to give you ti to think it over properly.” the other Chen Ke had no intention of making a move.

“I don’t plan on working for you.” Chen Ke shook his head.

“So you prefer to work for the Foundation? They tell you whom to kill, and you just do it. Are you just a hired gun?” the other Chen Ke laughed.

“I pull the trigger only for myself. Everyone I’ve killed, everything I’ve done, has been solely to achieve my own goals. What the Foundation wants, what their plans are, it’s none of my business.” Chen Ke said.

“So you are a hired gun… What has the Foundation promised you? I can offer you the sa.” the other Chen Ke said.

“What makes you think I’ll tell you? Haven’t you worked at an internet company? It’s not polite to ask about pay.” Chen Ke retorted.

“I get it… you’re just a god-powered idiot without any grand aspirations.” the other Chen Ke shook his head, disappointed.

“At least I’m not a hypocrite like you.” Chen Ke stretched his limbs.

“Say whatever you want, what can you do now? Fight again? This ti I will rip out your heart, knock out every single tooth, and make a collar from them to hang on my dog’s neck. You don’t deserve this na!” the other Chen Ke said coldly, clenching his fists which cracked.

“You think I would fight you like that?” Chen Ke chuckled coldly.

He pressed his right hand on the compartnt, causing it to shake violently, with the wheels screeching against the tracks, the noise making one’s brow furrow.

The other Chen Ke crouched low to maintain his stance, unsure of what Chen Ke had done.

Xu Jing’s rack was fixed inside the compartnt, so it didn’t fall, but the cables and injection tubes attached to her burst from her body due to the violent shaking.

“What have you done!” the other Chen Ke yelled.

However, no one could answer him, as the following compartnts, like a constipated patient who had taken laxatives, smashed violently into this one.

Chen Ke swapped into the An Helei dirge, leaped out, and tumbled across the muddy ground, rolling dozens of tis with loud crashing and grinding tal sounds in his ears.

After a mont of grogginess…

The other Chen Ke lay in the mud, his lower body pinned under the train, his body intact but unable to lift the weight of the train carriage.

“What on earth did he do?” He pondered, unable to fathom the trick that could cause such an accident with the train.

Clang, clang, clang…

Chen Ke erged slowly, clad in his Black Armor, from the pile of wrecked carriages.

Seeing Chen Ke’s figure, the other Chen Ke’s expression chilled, his hands pressing against the ground, trying to forcibly pull himself out.

“I took a while looking for you… Hard when you can’t appear before my eyes. But here I am now, the fight has only just begun,” Chen Ke recalled the An Helei armor, his right hand materializing the Black Gun.

“What have you done?” the other Chen Ke asked.

“I paused the ti in that train car, and then the whole train collided right where it was,” Chen Ke said casually.

“You always have so new tricks for ,” another Chen Ke said.

“Like you said, this world only has room for one Chen Ke,” Chen Ke aid at the other Chen Ke’s head, the muzzle of the Black Gun trembling slightly.

220-hour limit… 90% is 198… After firing this shot, only 22 would remain…

“You said you have seen the end of humanity, tell , what happened in the future?” Chen Ke asked.

“I thought you didn’t care,” the other Chen Ke, looking at the dark muzzle, remained remarkably calm.

“I really don’t care,” Chen Ke said.

“Bang!”

The Black Gun emitted a black and red beam, Chen Ke felt as if the ground beneath his feet had cracked, mud and sand blurred his vision, and the roar of the wind rang in his ears.

When all beca calm, Chen Ke moved his arm away from blocking the sand and looked toward where he had shot, only to see a chasm over a dozen ters wide cracking open from the ground two ters away from him.

The crevice, like a canyon ford after an earthquake, gently sloped downward, extending forward indefinitely, with the rails sinking into the ground.

“Huh…” Chen Ke put away the Black Gun, unable to see the other Chen Ke’s body. The power of this gun was too fierce to use at close range in the future…

Life was back to being barely sustainable for a day, but Chen Ke had long been accustod to these dramatic ups and downs. He searched for Xu Jing for a long ti before finding the blood-stained rack.

It seed the woman must have died in the collision when the train went off the tracks. She was probably waiting for him in the center of Langdon City now, right?

Night.

Chen Ke had walked a long way before he finally made it from the outskirts of Langdon back to the city. Not knowing where to find Xu Jing, he could only stop on the street beside the burned-down Sunshine Cafe.

“Co with .”

Xu Jing appeared from behind Chen Ke, grabbed his arm, and dragged him into an alley.

“That Chen Ke is dead,” Chen Ke said.

“I know. The foundation has already confird, the other Chen Ke has completely disappeared,” Xu Jing said with a smile.

Suddenly, she pushed Chen Ke against the wall, moved her face close, and kissed him impetuously.

Chen Ke placed his hands on Xu Jing’s shoulders and pushed her away: “Hey!”

Xu Jing wasn’t angry, she licked her lips, seemingly longing for more.

“Can we go back now? Is it all over?” Chen Ke asked.

“You saved . I thought you’d give up, that you’d disappear in this era. I thought I would be imprisoned by him until the end of ti. But you actually ca back,” Xu Jing said.

“That’s called keeping a promise,” Chen Ke folded his arms across his chest.

“I thought that was called love,” Xu Jing said.

“Huh?” Chen Ke was taken aback.

“You promised you would provide with a shield and various docunts legal in the 2009 United Federation… and also… ensure that the Administration Bureau doesn’t bother because of my ability,” Chen Ke reminded her.

Xu Jing nodded, her lips curving slightly. “Of course, the foundation’s word is its bond. Everything is taken care of, Chen Ke… We have plenty of ti, no matter how long we stay here, we can return to the mont we arrived here. So… why the rush?”

“I just want to return soon,” Chen Ke sighed.

“Do I not interest you, Chen Ke?” Xu Jing asked.

“You’re not my type. You’re not real,” Chen Ke replied.

“Alright, Mr. Chen. Then let’s hurry back to 2009. I’ve got a lot to do,” Xu Jing’s tone and expression turned less affectionate.

The two straightened their clothes and walked one after the other toward the antique store where they originally crossed over.
