Chapter 391: Chapter 391 Not That Troubleso
Chen Ke pressed his hand to the ground, attempting to use the thod he had used previously to unfreeze Ms. Harlowin, hoping to restore the world.
The principle behind lifting the ti freeze was actually very simple, based on Chen Ke’s straightforward assumption.
If a cara could freeze the world, Chen Ke could as well; after all, the effect of the ti freeze was the sa, but whether it could be lifted depended on who initiated the freeze.
Chen Ke would take the frozen elents by the cara and freeze them again, effectively taking over the “freeze authority,” and bringing the objects under his control.
In this way, he could lift the freeze effect from those items. That was how he had unfrozen Ms. Harlowin.
As Chen Ke’s hand touched the ground, he felt a barrier similar to what he felt when he used his ti-freezing ability; he focused his thoughts and activated his ti-freeze ability.
The sky-blue asphalt road beneath his palm slowly began to regain its original color, shifting from an abnormal blue state back to its natural hue.
This color shift continued to extend, spreading out from Chen Ke at its center, quickly forming a large circular space, restoring everything to its original state.
“What are you doing?” Ms. Harlowin asked, sowhat surprised.
“I’m trying to find the photograph of this world,” Chen Ke said while continuing to utilize his ti-freeze ability.
In theory, with his current level of expertise, he could freeze only a single person or an object, not a large area such as an entire block.
However, it was clear that ti-freeze was a rather simplistic ability; it treated ti as rely a photograph…
Freezing a photograph was definitely sothing Chen Ke could manage.
Through this event, Chen Ke joyfully noted that the effects triggered by these skills were rigid and unwavering, unaffected by illusions or hallucinations.
For instance, with Spiritual Vision, if soone is not real, they simply cannot be seen. Similarly, with ti-freeze, no matter how extensive your illusion is, it only recognizes the original, and that’s what it can freeze.
Chen Ke’s ti-freeze effect gradually overpowered that of the cara, and although the surroundings remained shattered, the color tone normalized; soon, the entire photographic world was under his control.
“Now… unfreeze…” Chen Ke thought.
Instantly, the fragnted cent pieces of buildings began to restore themselves, fragnts flying through the air and reassembling, reversing trajectory back into a complete structure.
All the dead bodies of Chen Kes on the street also flew into the sky, disappearing into the night, as the crowd and noise slowly returned.
The photographic world had returned to how it had been when Chen Ke first entered.
“Alright… now we’re heading into the next round,” Chen Ke stood up, watching the bustling crowd and vehicles moving about as usual.
“How are you going to find that photograph…? I don’t know if it’s even here,” Ms. Harlowin shook her head.
“I don’t know either, but I have a guess,” Chen Ke said, keeping an eye out for assassins.
The world had restarted, and surely the assassins had too.
“A guess…? You seem to know more about this place than I do,” Ms. Harlowin remarked, puzzled.
“In the previous world, Ms. Harlowin, your clone was an agent constantly dying, stealing mission data from a warehouse; in the end, I discovered that item was actually a negative,” Chen Ke said.
“The previous world… How many have you been through?” Ms. Harlowin asked.
“Not many, just one, but one was enough. I discovered a strange thing, Philip must have known that the negative connected different photographic realms; if we find the negative, anyone entering can continually escape into other photographic worlds,” Chen Ke analyzed.
Ms. Harlowin nodded, admitting that Chen Ke was correct—the photographic worlds were interconnected; one could enter and also exit, retracing the initial entry path back to the original billboard.
Chen Ke had a way to return.
“But why would he put a negative in the previous world? Wouldn’t it be better to trap sobody by removing all exits?” Chen Ke said.
“That’s because you know which photograph you ca from, but it’s different for … my entrance was this photograph, and Philip tore it up!” Ms. Harlowin explained.
That’s why; while Chen Ke traveled through the negative, this advertisent was not on the company wall anymore—it no longer existed. The negative was the bridge, the photograph the door.
“The photograph was torn, but you can still traverse into this world, does that an the negative was generated by this world itself?” Chen Ke pondered.
Perhaps the cara also had its balance system, maintaining the worlds must have a basis, just like the universe.
“When I use this cara, I rarely enter directly; I usually possess… you know, during photo shoots everyone gets made up and dresses in prop costus, but I wouldn’t do that when I’m alone,” Ms. Harlowin explained.
Chen Ke understood Ms. Harlowin’s approach; entering in her physical body would require a lot of ti for makeup and dressing beautifully, but possession made it simple—Ms. Harlowin surely always possessed herself…
“Tearing up the photograph isn’t a big deal; this world will definitely leave a corresponding negative. As long as we find the negative, we can move to the next world,” Chen Ke said.
“I just want to get out quickly… I don’t want to keep wandering in the photographic world,” Ms. Harlowin’s tone was slightly despondent.
“I understand; this is the only way, Ms. Harlowin, especially since I am here to find Philip,” Chen Ke said.
He told a lie, not revealing to Ms. Harlowin that jumping into the bus station advertisent would lead to the previous world, then retracing the original path would take them back to the real world from the tree’s picture fra.
Chen Ke had not forgotten his mission—to fulfill his contract and kill Ms. Harlowin…
But this journey proved far more complex than Chen Ke had anticipated.
He thought it would be simple: scout ahead, stealthily infiltrate, emotionlessly kill a woman, and then get out.
He also gradually realized that the foundation wanted Chen Ke to kill Ms. Harlowin, likely because she possessed the cara.
If he could destroy the cara, perhaps he could spare Ms. Harlowin’s life.
The situation was complicated; Chen Ke needed to keep Ms. Harlowin close, letting her run out could lead to unpredictable outcos.
“How are you going to find that photograph?” Ms. Harlowin asked.
“I suspect the negative might be hidden on the assassin,” Chen Ke guessed.
“You an… you want to use as bait? I don’t want to face those assassins again,” Ms. Harlowin shook her head.
“It’s not that complicated… I just need to stop the world…” Chen Ke said as he touched the road with his hand.
Ti stopped!
