Chapter 239: Chapter 239 Curiosity

“This is the Fei Huang Republic’s Model 67 silenced pistol. Developed in 1967, it was issued to reconnaissance units and agents, though of course they definitely use the latest models now…” Pihom said.

“You can even get your hands on military firearms from the Fei Huang Republic…?” Chen Ke was surprised.

The military industry of the Fei Huang Republic was controlled by the state, with no private enterprises, and the whole country had a ban on firearms, so there was no market demand. Thus, getting a Fei Huang gun was quite difficult.

“I have my own channels… Chen Ke, pick one to have a look,” Pihom said.

Chen Ke put down the Willlord MKII, picked up the Model 67 with both hands to try it out, and aid at the distant gun rack.

“This one’s not bad,” Chen Ke said.

“With the silencer, the total length of the gun is 126 milliters, the caliber is a unique 7.62 milliters, it fires high-power interdiate rounds, the magazine capacity is 9 rounds, and the effective range is… 30 ters…” Pihom explained.

“This gun needs deep customization. 7.62 milliter pistol ammunition… I’ve never seen that, can it be modified for 9 milliters?” Chen Ke asked.

“Priskin will find a way. His research on the shotgun Gatling seems to have made so kind of breakthrough… maybe soon we’ll be able to… forget it… we don’t need that sort of thing… unless we’re hunting bear packs…” Pihom shook his head.

“Alright, have Priskin modify the Model 67 for , I’ll make do with the Glock for now,” Chen Ke said.

Chen Ke asked Pihom for two Glock 17 compatible suppressors, then inquired about sources for Spiritual Bullets.

Although Pihom didn’t know how Chen Ke had acquired spiritual power weapons, he still advised against using them actively, and he also repeated that he indeed had no ans to obtain bullets from the Administration Bureau.

“You can’t imagine how tightly those things are regulated,” Pihom sighed.

Chen Ke was also disappointed; it seed he could only make do with Fla Bullets for now.

Having said goodbye to Pihom, it was already 6 o’clock in the afternoon.

When one got busy, ti flew incredibly fast. It was just noon when he had escaped from the year 2006 tiline world, and in just five hours, Chen Ke had accomplished so much, which would have been unthinkable in the past.

He returned to his dwelling, and Louis and Rama had already found a hotel to move to. Proper hotels required identification such as a driver’s license, and Louis and Rama didn’t have docunts for this world, so they had to find less fastidious places.

Of course, he was only planning a temporary stopgap. After completing three assassination tasks, Chen Ke intended to find a place more suitable for long-term residence.

The sudden move was just to evade potential searches by the Administration Bureau, as well as retaliation from Yasla and her crew.

The small motel they found was at the intersection of Gun Tie District and Raffi Road, next to the highway, in a recessed three-story building with its own parking lot.

The three of them, with not too much luggage, took a taxi to the small motel and quickly settled in; it was around 8 o’clock at night by then.

Chen Ke asked them to buy so food and change of clothes from the local small shops, and he paid the accommodation fee for another week, then headed to the Holy Oak Villa Area.

All the magazines were filled with bullets, and all the Holy Diamonds were tucked into his wallet; he sat in the back seat of the taxi, looking out at the scenery, finally enjoying a mont of leisure.

He took out two Holy Diamonds from his wallet, which were the Holy Relics used by Ying Baiyi, an orange hamrhead and a purple spear, but unfortunately, Ying Baiyi hadn’t brought any armor-class Holy Relics.

Let’s see what they are, shall we?

Sun Maul/Spear

Durability: Average

Wrath of Justice: Adds 20% Fla and 20% Justice attribute to damage

Thunder God: Adds 50% damage to Spear Skill, reduces Spiritual Energy consumption by 10% (Skill missing)

Shield Breaker: When this maul/spear hits a shield, it exerts triple impact force.

The national religion of the Fan Hede Kingdom was known as the Sun Order, and its priests were all zealous knights who fought against the forces of darkness and evil with thunder guns and Hamrs of Justice.

After the Black Ring sinister disease ravaged the Fan Hede Kingdom, the Sun Order was supplanted by the newly erged Black Ring Sect.

Chen Ke slid the small orange Holy Diamond onto his thumb and pinched it with his index finger, scrutinizing it closely, he found out that this mace was actually obtained from the Fan Hede Kingdom too.

Combining the Holy Relics he had on hand, from the descriptions, Chen Ke got a glimpse of what exactly had happened in the Fan Hede Kingdom…

Now he examined another Holy Diamond, this one purple; he had never seen a purple one before and wondered how it differed from the other colored relics.

[Cassandra’s Battle Spear]

[Durability: Average]

[Maraka: More likely to beco the target of attacks]

[Granted Skill: Infinite Throw, the spear will automatically return to the user’s hand after being thrown.]

[Lack of Knowledge]

Chen Ke finally realized that the purple Holy Relics ca with a Transcendent Skill, which could be used simply by possessing it!

However, this relic obviously didn’t co from the Fan Hede Kingdom, so he couldn’t learn the story behind this spear.

But Chen Ke didn’t care about these things; he only cared about the performance of the relics because he had to rely on them to defeat those odd creatures.

This mace wasn’t too bad; it ca with Justice and Fla attributes, aning it could counter two types of monsters, but he couldn’t use the accompanying thunder gun enhancent Skill since his Skill was the Soul Crystal Gun.

The mace had another passive attribute that was quite useful; it was especially effective against enemies with shields. Considering the knights of Fan Hede, Chen Ke’s mouth curled into a slight smile.

This spear was different; the Skill it ca with effectively turned it into a long-range shooting weapon. However, it had a passive Debuff that was quite troubleso, making it more likely for monsters to attack him, which was rather uncomfortable. No wonder Ying Baiyi rarely used this spear.

He put away the Holy Diamonds and leaned back in his seat, closing his eyes to rest, which was a rarity for him.

After more than a week on the road, although Chen Ke wasn’t tired, he still felt it was more peaceful to close his eyes. Letting the wind whistle outside the window, he closed his eyes, and many strange thoughts flooded his mind.

Who were the people that Lester wanted Chen Ke to kill? And for which powers was he working? Now with more ti on his hands, Chen Ke couldn’t help but ponder these questions.

Assassins shouldn’t inquire into the motives and goals of their employers, but Chen Ke was obviously not any professional Assassin, despite his frequent talk of professional ethics.

“This is my only chance to touch upon the Transcendent level, and clearly, those whom my employer wants to hunt are all linked with the Transcendent,” Chen Ke thought to himself.

The guy who committed suicide by jumping off the building, the guy who turned into a human room, and the guy who talked on the phone with sobody unknown… they were all dead. Chen Ke really wanted to ask them why.

But he knew this curiosity was very dangerous, as it could easily lead to his own demise.

The more you knew, the more dangerous it was, especially when you knew things you shouldn’t.

The most gentle aspect of this universe was that it allowed all creatures to arrive in this world in a state of ignorance, so they would not be terrified into ntal breakdown by the harsh realities.

At that thought, Chen Ke couldn’t help but speculate, would his employer kill him to cover up their tracks after all the tasks were complete?

It wasn’t out of the realm of possibility.

Hainerd had said that the underside of society was rife with betrayal and abandonnt, a place that only catered to pure rchants and egoists where interests alone were discussed.

Suppressing his curiosity, Chen Ke opened his eyes; by this ti, the car had arrived at the Holy Oak.

“I hold no grudge against you, and you shouldn’t resent for dying by my hand. Bla your fate on knowing too much.”

He got out of the car and walked toward the villa where his target resided.
