Chapter 160: Chapter 147: One More Mysterious Group mber Than The Last

Katherine carefully explained to Amberser what a beast companion ant, which was quite uneasy for Amberser who was used to eternal enslavent.

In literal terms, a beast companion is an equal partner, requiring communication and emotional bonding, mutual understanding and assistance.

Unlike the undead, where there is a clear master among them who has the final say, disobedient ones can be simply disassembled and remade.

But when facing your beast companion, you need to be tolerant, understanding, and patient… It’s similar to being in a romantic relationship, so choosing the right partner is very important.

If you choose a particularly troubleso one, life can be very painful.

The best choice, of course, is to be like Katherine, who has saved the life of her beast companion and then raised it from young, fostering a bond.

These traits perfectly fit the rcury Avatar, yet Amberser and the rcury Avatar were definitely not suitable for each other.

According to Katherine, if Amberser and the rcury Avatar really were compatible, they would have already completed the bonding phase, and if they really matched, both would feel a connection without needing to ask, and could finalize the contract by following their inner thoughts.

But now, as Amberser held the rcury Avatar and felt no response at all, it was certain that they weren’t a fit.

Amberser reluctantly put down the rcury Avatar and asked Katherine, “Then where should I look for a beast companion?”

“If the Silvermoon Tribunal hasn’t been sealed off yet, I could take you back there to have a look, and it should be easy to find a suitable beast companion. But now, we can only try our luck. If we could find a Druid tribe, maybe they could help us.”

In this world, Druids are the most familiar with animals.

Rangers only contract beast companions and still use their human identities to communicate with animals. Druids, if they let go, could even marry a beast without an issue, and the more extre ones could even open a huge harem like an animal zoo.

With such advantages, it is definitely correct to seek Druids for help with animals.

But where to find Druids? The Druids Amberser had encountered were either dead or had a grudge against him.

Katherine could guess Amberser’s dilemma. The relationship between the undead and Druids certainly wouldn’t be good, but she was helpless. Inside the Silvermoon Tribunal, there were indeed many Druid tribes, but Katherine had hardly ever co into contact with Druids outside of it.

Now reflecting on herself, Katherine realized she was indeed a hobody, and maybe a bit too much of one.

“How about we try putting up a bounty? There should be so Druids who work as adventurers. We can offer money to hire one,” Katherine suggested.

“Wait, I want to ask around first.”

Amberser took out the Necromancy Codex and sent a ssage in the group chat: [Friends, does anyone know a reliable Druid? Please introduce .]

Amberser had now developed the habit of asking his group friends whenever he was uncertain. The Legends all had vast experiences, and Katherine, the talented hobody, was certainly a rare exception.

Sure enough, the most reliable were always the omnipotent group friends, and the chat group quickly received replies.

[Withered Rose: I do know a few Druids, but what do you need them for?]

[Doesn’t Like Humans: What’s with seeking a Druid? Do you have so special gaplay with the Elf Queen?]

[Pale Skeleton: What Elf Queen?]

[Headless Knight’s Crown: What Elf Queen?]

[Pale Skeleton: What’s it to you!]

[Headless Knight’s Crown: Just curious!]

Though group friends are capable of anything, they are also fun-loving, willing to do anything for a laugh.

The sourness of Hake Stone seed to seep out of the Necromancy Codex, leaving Amberser sowhat speechless. That stingy vampire of a Great King really had so nerve.

[Diga Ultraman: Don’t misunderstand, I’m not a vampire, I don’t get excited over chicken legs.]

[Doesn’t Like Humans: IXXXXXXX]

[Doesn’t Like Humans: XXX, does this Necromancy Codex not allow swearing?!]

Just as Amberser was about to scoff, he saw a ssage from a character he had never seen before in the group chat.

[Mourner: Maintain reason and restraint, respect each other, keep each other’s secrets. These are the rules of the Elegy Poetry Society.]

Amberser blinked, wondering if he had seen it wrong.

The “Mourner”?

Wasn’t that the president of the Elegy Poetry Society?!

Amberser had never seen this mysterious president before, only encountering the Necromancy Codex after he was reborn as a Lich. It contained much of the basic knowledge about the undead and also so basic information about the Elegy Poetry Society.

One of its rules was that chat content could not be spread without the permission of relevant mbers, or else you would be expelled from the Elegy Poetry Society and would suffer punishnt from the president.

From the beginning, Amberser was very aware of the weight of the Necromancy Codex as it had appeared beside him right after his rebirth. Before rebirthing into a Lich, he had made nurous preparations, believing he had achieved the ultimate in magical protection. Only then did he begin the rebirth process.

When he completed the ritual, the Necromancy Codex was quietly lying beside him, and all of Amberser’s magical defenses had no reaction whatsoever.

Amberser still could not figure out how the president had done it. He only knew that the president’s prowess was beyond imagination and was very likely the earthly incarnation of a deity. Yet since joining the Elegy Poetry Society, this was the first ti he had seen the president speak up in the group chat.

Before Amberser could respond, other group mbers began greeting the president en masse.

[Withered Rose: President, long ti no see.]

“The Crown of the Headless Knight: President?! You’re the president of the Elegy Poetry Society?! This is the first ti I’ve ever t you.””

“The Pale Skeleton: Hello, President. It’s been such a long ti.”

It wasn’t just these acquaintances; the Necromancy Codex suddenly beca lively as several unknown figures appeared.

“Poet: The president woke up? It’s been many years since we’ve seen you.”

“Mute: Was the last ti the president showed up a thousand or two thousand years ago? Could it be, is sothing big going to happen again?”

“Non-Vegetarian: Really? Well, I’m actually quite looking forward, I’ve been hungry for a long ti.”

“Mourner: No need to panic, I just woke up, that’s all. Continue chatting, I won’t join in.”

The president of the Elegy Poetry Society disappeared once more, and even when Amberser sent a private ssage, there was no reply.

The other three mbers, whom he had never t, also vanished with the president, seemingly just having shown up to make their presence felt in front of him.

Amberser could only privately ssage Withered Rose, asking, “Lady Rose, have you ever t the president?”

“Withered Rose: I never t him, but I did receive his help once. Establishing a kingdom in Gloomyland is not easy, and I encountered many troubles at the beginning. The president gave

a lot of help.”

Withered Rose didn’t go into specifics, and Amberser tactfully didn’t press for more details. Instead, he asked about the other unknown mbers, “And the other three, who are they? Poet, Mute, Non-Vegetarian—they are all Legendary Rank undead, aren’t they?”

“Withered Rose: I only know of the Poet. He is the vice-president. Actually, the na ‘Elegy Poetry Society’ is a combination of the two of them, but aside from the na, I don’t know anything else about him. As for the other two, to be honest, it’s my first ti seeing them too.”

Amberser was speechless. Were all the mbers of the Elegy Poetry Society so unique?

Did the president really only speak up because Hake Stone violated so rule? When Mute ntioned that a big event might happen, did it refer to sothing that happened before?

An event that mbers of the Elegy Poetry Society consider a big deal must be more significant than wars between two countries.

Such mysteries one after another.

But Amberser wasn’t troubled by this. There were too many mysteries in the world, and if the president was truly an avatar of a deity on Earth, then all the more plausible. When it cos to gods, one need not be surprised by any outrageous events.

A slight interlude, the only one affected by it was Hake Stone.

This vampire was trembling, never expecting a few heated curses written in the heat of the mont to draw a warning from the president. Like Amberser, he had once experienced the terror of the Necromancy Codex appearing out of nowhere.

“Dislike Humans: Done for, I’ve been warned by the president, could I face so terrifying punishnt?”

“Diga Ultraman: If the president wanted to punish you, would he need to warn you?”

“Dislike Humans: Is this supposed to be comforting?”

“Diga Ultraman: I didn’t say it was a comfort.”

“Dislike Humans: XXXXXXX!”

“The Crown of the Headless Knight: No way, brother, you dare to violate again? Aren’t you afraid of dying?!”

“Dislike Humans: No, what I wrote was just XXXXXXX, interpret that as you will.”

This vampire… incredible.

Amberser stopped bantering with Hake Stone and continued to inquire with Withered Rose about the Druid. However, the Druids Withered Rose knew of were those who had gone into seclusion, and there was no way to pinpoint their whereabouts. Withered Rose could only offer to send out a ssage and see if there would be any response.

Amberser felt helpless. It seed he would have to spend money to hire soone.

Closing the Necromancy Codex, Amberser said to Katherine, “Let’s go hire a Druid.”

“You spent so long reading that book, and you’re still taking my advice?” Katherine chuckled softly and then asked, “Shall we return to Alchemy City to find a Druid?”

Amberser shook his head and said, “Alchemy City has never gotten along with Druids, so there are very few within its borders. Plus, with the destruction of Alchemy City involving the Shadow Druid, if they’re smart, any surviving Druids would have already fled. It would be better to put a bounty here in the desert than at ho, as we might have a better chance of finding a Druid.”

Amberser used shapeshifting to transform into a human, then said to Katherine, “You should change your appearance too; it’s too conspicuous to go out like that.”

Katherine’s innate charm could make even a Lich swoon. Parading down the street in her current form, it wouldn’t take two minutes to ignite the clichéd plots of old novels—where a noble young master would spend a fortune, where a mob boss would attempt to kidnap a beautiful woman… it would be impossible to move an inch.

Katherine obediently cast Shapeshifting on herself, transforming into a “plain”-looking Elf maiden and then putting on a mask. However, this effort was barely sufficient; she exuded such charm from every inch of her being that what she wore was far from enough to completely hide it.

After pondering for a mont, Amberser suggested to Katherine, “Beco an Orc.”

“Ah?” Katherine had never heard such a request before.

Amberser said, “Otherwise, we can’t leave. We’re just regular Adventurers now, and you don’t want to be surrounded by a bunch of n after just a few steps, do you?”

After hesitating for a mont, Katherine decided to heed Amberser’s advice and transford into a stout Orc.

Then she donned a set of bulky full body Leather Armor, looking sowhat unidentifiable with her green face, fierce fangs, and shaven head.

Yet, upon closer inspection, Amberser began to find even this Orc sowhat cute.

This damned allure, no wonder the Elf Tribe didn’t let her go out.

“Forget it, this will do. Just try to act rough; otherwise, it’s easy for soone to spot you,” Amberser reminded her.

With a bit of excitent, Katherine nodded. It was her first ti going incognito, and it seed like it could be fun.
