He wrapped these items in dry cloth and packed them into his backpack as provisions.
After all, they were set to depart for the entirety of today and tomorrow, so it was necessary to bring a fair amount of food and water.
"Are all preparations complete, Beichuan Master?" Ihui Nailuo, who sat in the seat of honor, opened her eyes and asked softly.
Beichuan Si didn’t answer; he simply nodded.
"Then let us set out now," Ihui Nailuo stood up while turning her head to the Ihui sisters kneeling beside her and spoke, "It’s ti to go, Guang Jiuju, Ju Xu."
It’s worth ntioning that the Ihui sisters had already switched their plain white kimonos for white miko (shrine maiden) robes.
The sleeves of the robes were notably short, clearly tailored to be more practical.
After all, they were heading deep into the dense forest, and billowing sleeves would surely hinder their movent.
Ihui Nailuo was not an overly stickler for tradition, thus allowing modifications to be made to the miko robes.
Ihui Ju Xu obediently followed by Ihui Nailuo’s side, while the other, Ihui Guangjiu, dutifully stood behind Beichuan Si.
Once the two of them were in position, Ihui Nailuo also said to Beichuan Si, "Although Guangjiu possesses certain abilities to ward off evil entities, I still hope Beichuan Master can offer her a helping hand when the ti cos."
"I understand," Beichuan Si agreed to this not overly demanding request.
Protecting Ihui Guangjiu was hardly a significant matter.
After finalizing their strategy, the group proceeded to leave the Ihui Main Family and made their way towards the Divine Forest Path.
During their walk, more and more villagers appeared, and by the ti they reached the Divine Forest Path, the sides were packed with residents.
Silently and without a word, after a long while, the sound of a low chant began to drift from the end of the Divine Forest Path.
Unknowingly, three miko dressed in ceremonial regalia had taken their places at the end of the path, offering exorcism chants to Beichuan Si and Ihui Nailuo below.
Along with the low chanting were the sounds of taiko drums and Shinra Bells.
This exorcism chant, sung by Ihui Shrine miko since ancient tis and accompanied by the slow beat of the drums and the crisp sound of Shinra Bells, eerily echoed:
"People embody the Tao; virtues will be rewarded; nas of kin, the roots of relationships, hearts refined and manifested."
"Such sincere thoughts reach the sovereign."
"Ihui follows the Tao; Yu Mu You guards; within the Bird House Realm, heavens manifested and refined."
"They are, the waist, the eyes, the skull, the feet, the hands."

This exorcism chant was all too familiar, prompting Beichuan Si to look at Ihui Nailuo at his side.
And just in ti, Ihui Nailuo offered an explanation, "This is the exorcism chant that has been passed down on Yihui Island since ancient tis. The first part is a blessing for our journey to proceed smoothly, the latter part is the chant I explained to you previously."
With Ihui Day being a major event on Yihui Island, Ihui Nailuo couldn’t possibly lead Beichuan Si and the others to the depths of the Divine Forest without any notice. Especially in the eyes of so villagers, Ihui Nailuo was seeking a path forward for their benefit, venturing into the depths of the Divine Forest to restart the shrine and awaken the Divine Tree. Thus, it was understandable for the villagers to spontaneously organize such a ceremony.
Amidst these various gazes, Beichuan Si followed behind Ihui Nailuo, heading straight toward the end of the path—
Until their figures were completely swallowed by the Mikami Forest, and the villagers finally dispersed.

It was evident that this wasn’t Ihui Nailuo’s first ti here.
Perhaps after the Divine Tree withered, she attempted several tis to restart the shrine alone but ultimately returned without success every ti.
This ti, after seeing Beichuan Si’s abilities, perhaps the idea to restart the shrine and awaken the Divine Tree resurfaced in her heart?

Ihui Nailuo released a pale golden stream of energy from her spiritual body.
The energy directly shattered the vindictive spirits of the islanders that were rushing towards them.
The black fluid scattered in all directions.
After dealing with these sudden vengeful spirits, Ihui Nailuo’s expression shifted as she turned to look towards Beichuan Si.
Under her gaze, Beichuan Si held the heavy Death Aura Hamr in his hand, and with a fierce swing, he smashed it down onto the face of an oncoming vengeful spirit.
Following the crisp sound of breaking bones, the spirit’s entire head was completely blown off, exploding in the air like a waterlon.
Its contents spilled all over the ground.

Though her face showed no change in emotion, she was inwardly shocked beyond words.
Was there really such a thod to exorcise spirits in the world?!
This was her first ti witnessing it.
This unique thod of exorcism made her feel as though all the years she had spent studying were in vain.
Just as she was about to offer a bit of praise for Beichuan Si’s efficient action, a vengeful spirit suddenly burst from the ground right in front of her—
With a pale face, a rotting visage, fingernails overturned, and twisted arms... it was a very standard ordinary vengeful spirit.
And just as Ihui Nailuo was about to shatter it with her benevolent thoughts...
