·"Beep beep!"
Just as Bai Xiaomo, deeply imrsed in the stunning scenery and thousands of splendid Daoist Skills, was drooling and daydreaming about how cool he’d look with higher Levels, his reverie was shattered by the sound of a player communication alert.
"Who is this now? Talk about a dream buster!"
Bai Xiaomo wiped the drool from the corner of his mouth and glanced at the communication panel.
In the ga, if players want to contact NPCs, they must use a Communication Talisman, but it’s much less hassle for player-to-player contact; a simple beep is all it takes.
Bai Xiaomo had blocked unknown contacts when he posted, fearing an onslaught of inquiries that would drive him crazy. So now, anyone ssaging him was a close gaming buddy added early on in the ga.
A quick look at the na revealed it was—Ju Xiaobei!
"Oh ho, this dude’s actually hitting up?" Bai Xiaomo was surprised; like him, Ju Xiaobei was a professional gar. In previous gas, the two had worked together. But Ju Xiaobei was usually more reserved, and it was often Bai Xiaomo who initiated contact.
"Mission panel?"
Puzzled by the ssage content, Bai Xiaomo wondered, why would Ju Xiaobei send a screenshot of a mission? Has the tight-lipped guy started to show off? Learning to brag?
[Ominous Clouds over the Immortal Dynasty Tournant]
Bai Xiaomo read each line, his expression growing more serious; his gar’s intuition told him, this was likely the beginning of a series of connected missions!
Missions co in two types: assigned and triggered. Ju Xiaobei’s mission was an unexpectedly triggered one.
This old bore has struck gold!
But now, his mission had hit a deadlock. The task actually required entering the competition arena before the finals of the tournant, but how could Ju Xiaobei get in when he didn’t even know what the Immortal Dynasty Sect Tournant was?
It was at this mont he noticed his good buddy had sent a live streaming notification and knew he had made it into that tournant, which is why he went out of his way to contact Bai Xiaomo.
"This is going to be tricky." Supporting his chin with his left hand, Bai Xiaomo furrowed his brow in thought. Although he really wanted to help his buddy with the mission, and intuition told him he might benefit from it as well, he didn’t have the authority to pull people in.
Bai Xiaomo was in a dilemma. He wasn’t tight with handso big shot Liang Yi, and what if he upset him by rashly asking to bring a friend inside? Wouldn’t that ss up his own mission? But if he didn’t offer help, he’d feel like he’d let his buddy down since they always shared profits and resources with each other.
When Bai Xiaomo was about to bite the bullet and ask, regardless of the risk of failing the mission, Liang Yi suddenly spoke up.
"Friend, is there sothing troubling you that you need help with?" Liang Yi noticed Bai Xiaomo’s face changing from red to white, as if he’d been dunked in a dye vat—a clear sign of an embarrassing predicant.
Bai Xiaomo had a reputation that Liang Yi had heard of— in his previous life, him and his gaming pal Ju Xiaobei had joined the Complete Heaven Sect. Before Liang Yi’s transmigration, both players were well-known in the ga with Levels even higher than Liang Yi’s, having beco True Inheritors of the Complete Heaven Sect, the only two player True Inheritors.
"I have a friend..." Bai Xiaomo steeled himself, pulled Liang Yi aside, shut off the live stream, and spoke up. If he was going to fail, then so be it; if this went south, Ju Xiaobei better brace for a hard-hitting socialist reprimand.
After listening to Bai Xiaomo’s request, Liang Yi didn’t imdiately respond. Instead, he found Bai Xiaomo’s story intriguing.
Could it be that Bai Xiaomo’s friend had stumbled upon a mystery? That during the Xuanzhou Immortal Dynasty Sect Tournant, so secret force was plotting a conspiracy? Naturally, Liang Yi thought of the mission from his own list: [Devouring Spirit Sect’s Intentions].
If there isn’t a second mysterious force causing trouble, then the mysterious force Ju Xiaobei ntioned must be the Devouring Spirit Sect. But how does that Ju Xiaobei know about it?
Players nowadays, at most, have not surpassed level 5. Could they uncover the conspiracy of the Devouring Spirit Sect? What a joke, does it look like the Mystic Bureau is just idling around?
Bai Xiaomo turned the recently closed livestream back on—a second of not streaming ant losing a good amount of money!
Watching the pondering Liang Yi, Bai Xiaomo felt that the chances of the boss agreeing were not high. NPCs in this ga are as sharp as real people; who would suddenly believe a stranger’s words, and even claim to have discovered so conspiracy below the grand competition!
"Of course, but would it be okay to wait for two days?" Liang Yi’s smile blossod, dazzling all the viewers in front of the livestream, that’s the true charm that transcends gender!
The audience, who had been sowhat irate due to the sudden interruption of the stream, instantaneously felt soothed, as if their whole being had been purified.
Ah, is this the face of a god?
Bai Xiaomo was shocked. So this works too!
He hurriedly nodded excitedly, thankful enough that the boss agreed, let alone that he even took the initiative to ask for his opinion—that’s what you call handsoly kind-hearted!
He quickly sent this great news to his best bro, receiving a "Well done" in response.
"Wait for at the place where we first t after two days, I’ll bring you guys in."
Once the players in the livestream heard this, they couldn’t sit still—this little bastard of a host actually had the audacity to ask the boss to bring people in?? Have they no sha! The world is truly declining, morality decaying! Strong condemnation is necessary!
Of course, if the host would bring just , consider the previous comnt as talking out of my butt.
Bai Xiaomo’s forum inbox experienced another climax, but were all rcilessly rejected by the system.
"Ying Tianxing, aren’t you coming over to see Young Hero Liang!?" Over there, Ying Xi was calling Ying Tianxing who was not far away.
"Father, we have t a few days ago and had quite a pleasant chat," Ying Tianxing said with a gentle smile, standing next to Ying Xi, barely recognizable as the malice-filled Ying Tianxing from a few days ago due to his drastically changed deanor.
Could it be that Ying Tianxing is a daddy’s boy? The kind that becos obedient in front of his father?
Liang Yi was confused, but it did not stop him from smiling agreeably. You want to act, I’ll play along, just don’t give an opportunity, otherwise it’s still going to be the full service of murder and looting!
"Ha ha, daddy’s getting muddled, completely forgot about this matter."
Ying Xi laughed heartily, patting Ying Tianxing on the shoulder. Only then did he rember his son was a representative of the Xuanzhou Immortal Dynasty, who had just t with He Zhiqing, Liang Yi, Ke ngzhan, and others a few days prior.
"Dad, you’re in your pri, why do you say you’re old," Ying Tianxing smiled helplessly, looking very much the filial son.
"Alright, you young ones chat, I still have duties to attend to," Ying Xi affectionately stroked Ying Tianxing’s head, apologizing to Liang Yi.
"It’s nothing at all. I’m already deeply grateful that you could find ti to accompany . But indeed, I felt a kindred spirit upon eting your son, and there’s much I’d like to talk about," Liang Yi spoke flawlessly, even a political veteran like Ying Xi found it comfortable to listen to.
Watching his father slowly walk away, the formulaic smile remained on Ying Tianxing’s face.
"Young Hero Liang, what do you think of the sea election?" Ying Tianxing abruptly changed the subject, asking Liang Yi.
"It’s quite good, all I can say is that the Immortal Dynasty has so many young talents, it really makes my Taoist Sect envious," Liang Yi stood at the railing, looking towards the large and small floating islands in the sky.
