Lette, escorted by the bandits, left the mountain path and headed towards the middle of the mountain.

Although they appeared to be escorting him, in reality, the bandits were preventing Lette from suddenly slipping away.

Despite knowing that, with Lette's power, they had no ans to stop him if he truly wanted to leave.

Yet, surrounding him seed to provide them so psychological comfort.

Lette didn't mind, but observing the bandits' guilty yet determined expressions piqued his curiosity further.

What kind of terrifying thing is this Dark Corrosion, to drive people to such lengths?

It seems enduring Dark Corrosion wasn't their intention, but they are branded as Sinners, both in others' eyes and self-proclaid.

Lette clearly felt that to these mountain bandits, he was their last hope.

When faced with life and death, so-called moral conscience becos sothing expendable.

Finally, after passing through a dense forest, they arrived at a village.

To his surprise, there existed such an idyllic village halfway up the mountain.

However, he quickly sensed sothing amiss.

The village seed suffused with a violent aura, unsettling to others.

Moreover, the center of the village had a mixed stone and wood wall harshly dividing the village in two.

Lette frowned, imdiately thinking of the word "isolation."

Could it be that Dark Corrosion is a disease?

Given the rchants' previous attitudes, the disease seed incredibly dangerous.

Not only physically dangerous, experiencing Dark Corrosion seed a symbol of worldly abandonnt, a Sin.

However, their ability to converse freely with the bandits suggested Dark Corrosion wasn't airborne.

Therefore, it was likely transmitted through contact.

That explained why both sides were so cautious to avoid contact when transferring goods.

Through these detailed observations, Lette pieced together a general understanding.

Dark Corrosion, an entity transmitted through contact, could be a disease or a curse.

Once infected, the consequences are severe.

There were no patients visible yet, but it likely led to mutation or death.

The world's Light God Association seed to have a way to handle Dark Corrosion, but it likely ca at a significant cost.

This reluctance to help cursed patients justified their treatnt of the afflicted as Sinners.

While Lette didn't have detailed insight, based on years of experience with the Holy Light Church, he could roughly guess the actions of the Light God Association.

Presumably, Dark Corrosion was seen as a sin, a symbol of punishnt or abandonnt by God. Thus, the afflicted were Sinners, burdened with Sin, repaying it through suffering.

Consequently, the clergy weren't obligated to save them, as suffering was deserved for their Sin.

Being afflicted with Dark Corrosion was Sin alone, spreading it further compounded the Sin.

That explained why even the bandits avoided contact with rchants to not multiply their Sin.

While Lette was deducing, the other bandits took the goods delivered by the rchants into the village.

The bandit leader then dashed forward to a slightly older peasant woman, whispering sothing to her.

Next, Lette saw the old lady swing her arm wide, delivering a resounding slap to the bandit leader, sending him spinning in place.

The old lady furiously scolded the bandit leader, then staggered over to Lette, bowing deeply.

"Honored Light ssenger, we truly apologize. We bear no Malice, nor any intent to defy the will of the Holy Light.

I apologize for their rudeness!

Please wait a mont; I'll have soone escort you down the mountain."

Lette raised an eyebrow, "Down the mountain? No... I ca to save you."

The old lady looked at Lette, astonished, "ssanger, you... we are Sinners afflicted by Dark Corrosion."

"I know."

Lette emanated a faint golden light, his eyes growing profound, his voice turning ethereal.

"Then let all suffering and Sin end here."

Looking at the holy figure of Lette, the old lady hurriedly knelt before him, making a gesture of prayer.

"Great Holy Light, praise You! Praise You!"

"Enough, take to..."

"To... where?"

Lette narrowed his eyes, "To where I need to go."

With such vague words, the old lady was briefly stunned before a look of ecstasy spread across her face.

"Are you going to save the poor children now? Wouldn't you like to first... have sothing to eat? Or rest a bit!"

Lette waved his hand at her words, displaying a compassionate expression, "Light is not ant to wait!"

The old lady widened her eyes, her respect deepening.

This enigmatic statent had a superb effect at that mont.

"Hans, you damn fool! Open the gate to the east village!"

"Yes, Aunt Sophia!"

The bandit leader quickly called so strong n to help move a huge wooden gate in the stone wall, revealing a low passage just big enough for a person.

Lette smiled slightly at the crowd, stepped into the passage, and erged on the other side of the village.

Seeing him act so swiftly and decisively, the villagers present admired him, singing the praises of the Holy Light.

Then, they quickly closed the wooden gate.

Next, Aunt Sophia led so people to open a small passageway, observing Lette as he entered the other side of the village.

The passageway was small, seemingly only for delivering food, with limited scenery visible.

Lette didn't mind as he saw a little girl lying not far away, her fate unknown.

Her left arm and right leg showed the sa dark color.

"So, this is the so-called Dark Corrosion?"

Lette perceived the intense force here, which felt clearly opposed to the Holy Light.

"Hmph! I shall see what truly is at play!"

Without hesitation, Lette quickly approached the little girl, grabbing her arm afflicted by Dark Corrosion.

This action imdiately caused cries and screams from the villagers on the other side of the wall.

The next mont, a violent energy surged through Lette's hand into his body.

"Hmm? Interesting!"

The Holy Light surged from Lette, directly resisting the force. Then, it countered, enveloping the Dark Energy.

Watching the roiling violent force in his hand, Lette widened his eyes.

"This is... Mutated Power of Profanation?"
