Chapter 729: Chapter 624: Hold Steady, Don’t Get Reckless!

While Xu Shuo was feverishly clearing instances, not only were people busy editing videos, but others also took notice of his behavior.

Under a thick, pitch-black sky.

This was a vast expanse of scorched earth.

The ground was parched and dark, crisscrossed with countless cracks from which the ink-like Dark Matter oozed, growing wildly like ivy after rain, entwining any being that stood on the land.

The darkness in the sky was so concentrated, it swirled like a vortex, resembling a gigantic, boundless black eye.

On the horizon, a twisted, black vertical line reached into the sky, as if it had split open the gate between the sea and the heavens.

...

Countless monsters sward out of that gate, and those blocking the front of the Abyss Rift were the innurable humans glowing in the dark.

This was a shattered world, the battlefield of the Abyss.

Perhaps no one had entered this place voluntarily, but regardless, at this mont, they all fought with everything they had.

After all, if they didn’t fight, they would die.

In the distance, a creature that had crawled out from beneath the ground opened its bloodied mouth wide, charging towards the figure ahead like a rabid hyena, its bizarre form twisting unpredictably.

An unbearable stench of decay hit her, and the monster bared its fangs at the dazed woman!

However, in the next mont, a hand reached out from the side, accurately seizing the fast-moving creature, then abruptly tightened its grip.

“Boom!”

The massive monster, like a puny caterpillar in his hand, was easily crushed, bursting into black juices.

The tall, indifferent man shook the darkness off his hand and turned to the woman who, even with the monster charging towards her, still did not look aside.

Then, with an expressionless face, he said, “Having the leisure to daydream on the battlefield, it seems you feel that you’ve lived too long. At this rate, there’s no need for you to attend the fifth-level evaluation anymore.”

Hong Rao, hearing this, diverted her gaze from the system panel to look at him with a frown, “You didn’t have to save , and on top of that, you’re being sarcastic.”

“I just think that whatever has distracted you at this ti must be related to your new student,” he said nonchalantly, suddenly reaching out again to catch a small monster erging from the ground and calmly crushing it with his bare hands.

Hong Rao turned off the system notification panel and shot him a sidelong glance, “Always keeping tabs on my student, you must really be bored. If you want a student to play with so badly, go apply to be a class ntor yourself! Get lost!”

After saying this in irritation, Hong Rao pushed him aside and flew off to the side, distancing herself from him imdiately.

Her form flickered and wavered; a tentacle from a monster streaked through the air only to shatter an illusory shadow.

Helian Mian glanced at her retreating figure, then withdrew his gaze.

Just then, the Abyss Rift in the sky suddenly began to shake violently, the originally narrow crack being forced open by a vast strength, as a hand as large as ten ters clawed at its edge, seemingly trying to pry it further apart.

Half an arm was already extended out, completely blocking the crack, and if one wanted to co through from the other side, the current width was far from sufficient.

Upon noticing the disturbance at the crack, players on the battlefield were shocked; lower-level players quickly retreated further away, while high-level players charged directly towards the Rift!

It wasn’t that they were deserters; creatures like the Abyss Demons were simply beyond their capacity to deal with.

What the high-level players aid to do was to stabilize the unstable Rift before the full body of the Abyss Creature squeezed through.

Hong Rao had originally been heading in that direction, since the “Miracle” guild’s battlefield was located there, and she didn’t feel like dealing with Helian Mian, planning instead to talk to other companions.

But witnessing the current situation, Hong Rao had no choice but to halt and step back, not wishing to disturb the battle over there.

After all, she was just a fourth-level player…

anwhile, upon seeing this, Helian Mian, who had been clearing smaller monsters, turned around expressionlessly and made his way over there. As the two passed by each other, Helian Mian looked towards Hong Rao as if intending to say sothing.

“Eat your own damn creature!”

Hong Rao had preemptively shut him up as soon as he opened his mouth, then she quickly slipped away to find a relatively safe place to stay.

Ever since she found out that Helian Mian had his sights set on her student, she wanted nothing more than to stay away from this guy.

The main reason for her apprehension—Xu Shuo had ruined the script Helian Mian had extracted, and given his grudge-holding nature, he might secretly plan to do sothing once he learned of the other’s special traits.

For example, kidnap Xu Shuo for dissection and research?

With these ssy thoughts, Hong Rao reopened the system panel and browsed through the information tips given by the system.

When a student interprets a script arranged by a ntor, it is recorded on the ntor’s panel and also increases the bond level between ntor and student. The more the student explores the script, the more the bond level increases.

A first-level bond only allows the ntor and student to speak three tis within the script; a second-level bond provides unlimited in-script conversation and three chances to send transfer items.

As for a third-level bond, a life lock appears between the ntor and the student, allowing the ntor to share the student’s script vision and provide brief real-ti communication and guidance.

A powerful ntor can even use the life lock to preserve the student’s near-death spiritual sense.

Unfortunately, Xu Shuo seldom communicated with Hong Rao within the scripts, even less to enter the scripts arranged by her, and he explored the scripts even less seriously.

So they still had only a first-level bond.

Hong Rao glanced at the progress bar, hmm, just a little more effort and they could level up to a second-level bond.

Of course, Hong Rao wasn’t specifically flipping through the system panel just to check the bond level; she noticed that Xu Shuo had finished all the second level scripts she had arranged for him.

This ant… the kid was about to advance to third level!

Hong Rao quickly opened Xu Shuo’s student panel to check, and indeed, the performance value column was full, and the next script was the assessnt script.

But because Xu Shuo had not t the standard in previous assessnts, Hong Rao had not been able to prepare a third-level assessnt script for him in advance, so she worried that the kid might act recklessly and enter the third-level assessnt directly.

Although the two had previously agreed not to act rashly…

But the kid’s promises were to be taken with a grain of salt.

Right now, the Abyss Battlefield under the guild’s command was experiencing abnormal changes, and as a core mber of the “Miracle” guild, Hong Rao couldn’t possibly leave because of such private matters.

So all she could do was use her spare monts to keep reminding her student!

Hong Rao: [Did you just finish all the second level scripts? I see your performance value is full, the next script is a third-level assessnt, don’t go in on your own.]

Hong Rao: [Although I’ve said these things countless tis already, I’m still telling you seriously, your special traits might lead you to a fourth-level assessnt!]

Hong Rao: [That’s definitely not sothing you can handle at this stage, you really, really must not act recklessly!]

Hong Rao: [I’ll be back soon. You’ve done so many scripts today, you might as well rest for a while, regain your energy, and then enter the third-level assessnt. There are quite a few opportunities for fortune in the third-level assessnt, I’ll arrange a good script for you then.]

Hong Rao: [Stay steady, don’t rush, and let know when you see this.]

Hong Rao said a lot in bits and pieces, then felt as though she was just reiterating things she had already said many tis before; she could only hope that the kid wouldn’t really ss up.

After a long while, the other side replied.

Xu Shuo: [1]

Hong Rao: [What do you an by 1, say you understand!]

Xu Shuo: [Understood…]
