Chapter 121: Confession Chapter 121: Confession The slap was viciously hard with an audible smack, loud enough to be heard from outside.

Mrs.

Daniel’s face was directly slapped away, turning hideously bruised and swollen in just a few seconds.

A slap that made her shed tears, spit out a tooth mingled with bloody saliva, stars bursting in her eyes, and fell flat on the ground.

Mrs.

Smith was breathing heavily, gripping her own collar with both hands, hysterically interrogating, “Why?!

What grudge, what resentnt does our family have with you?!

What made you commit such an act?!” Mrs.

Smith simply could not believe it, and absolutely could not accept it.

So, all the misplacents were human-induced?

Did the loathso woman standing before them deliberately cause all this eighteen years ago?

This woman swapped the children, sent her own child to enjoy blessings in their Smith family, and beca the little princess adored by their household!

While the child she herself truly bore for ten months, falling headlong into the world, was discarded in the countryside by this very woman, in the harshest winter!

If it were not for Maureen’s great fortune and destiny, she may not have survived until now!

Mrs.

Smith’s heart ached with a clenching pain, making her entire body tremble.

She glanced at Maureen cornered in the room, her lips trembling, and her vision blurred with tears.

If all these were just accidents, then Mrs.

Smith could tell herself that their family were victims and everything was rely fate playing tricks.

But now, she realized that it was not an accident at all, but she and the Smith family were too foolish, and never found the truth!

For the past eighteen years, they have not only been raising a child for the murderess, but also hired the murderess to be by their side – even went so far as to exclude their own child from their ho for the murderess’s child!

Mrs.

Smith harshly gripped her own clothes, panting for air, it was only at this mont she realized what ridiculous and foolish things she had done!

She picked dresses for the murderess’s child, she blad her own child for not being friendly enough to the murderess’s child!

She even had her own child make dinner for the murderess’s child!

A retching sensation rose from her stomach.

Anger, agony, nausea, remorse – all twisted into one.

In Mrs Smith’s eyes, traces of red veins were all too visible, as she mustered strength from nowhere and seized Mrs.

Daniel, who was covering her face on the ground.

Another slap flew across.

Mrs.

Daniel stared aghast at her.

As if realizing that she had gone mad, Mrs.

Daniel instinctively backed away.

“You’re insane!

Your whole family is insane!

This is vigilantism!” “You shaless woman, I will kill you!” Mrs.

Smith was disheveled, her eyes were bloodshot, she had completely lost her sanity; the agony in her heart made her wish that she could die alongside Mrs.

Daniel at that mont.

She took off her shoe, ruthlessly slapping it against Mrs.

Daniel’s face.

Mrs.

Daniel shrank in fear, barely being held back by the person gripping her shoulders.

“Slap!” Another cruel slap landed on Mrs.

Daniel’s face.

The woman who had just arrived, despite her distress, was still recognizable.

Yet now, she was a wreck – tears and snot streaming down her face, now swollen, with fresh blood mixed with tears; her lips bleeding, her eye sockets turning purple.

Any more blows would likely destroy her face.

Although each person in the Smith family was gritting their teeth in anger, wishing they could chop Mrs.

Daniel into a thousand pieces, it was, after all, a society governed by law.

They couldn’t let Mrs.

Smith continue hitting her!

Oliver walked over, grasped Mrs.

Smith by the shoulders, and forcibly pulled her towards him: “Enough, enough, Mom!” Oliver tried to snap his mother back to reality.

Tears stread down Mrs.

Smith’s face as she was forcibly moved away from Mrs.

Daniel by her son, Oliver.

Abruptly, she broke free from his grip and dashed into the bathroom.

The sounds of retching and flushing echoed from within.

Disgust.

That was the shared reaction of every Smith family mber present.

Their revulsion wasn’t just directed at the agonized screams of the beaten maid sprawled on the ground, or at the tearful and remorseless killer’s daughter sitting by her side, but also at themselves, and the repulsive actions they had committed in the last eighteen years.

What on earth had they all done?

Mrs.

Daniel, beaten to the verge of unconsciousness, cradled her blood-covered face and collapsed onto the floor, akin to a foul-slling fish gasping its last breaths.

As the dizzying effect of being slapped receded, she regained so level of awareness, and tears began to gather in her hard-working, wrinkled face.

Pushing herself to sit, she sobbed hysterically at the mbers of the Smith household: “So what if I am Bianca’s biological mother?

I only found out just now too!

I’m innocent as is Bianca.

It must have been a mix-up at the hospital.

Back then, I was a weak postpartum woman; how could I possibly have done such a thing?!

The hospital should be blad, why bla ?” “Innocent?!

At this point, even the second round of DNA tests have co in.

How can you have the audacity to claim innocence?” roared Mr.

Smith, his face dark with rage.

If not for the fact that the woman in front of him was practically defenseless, he might have taken action himself.

“The hospital will certainly be dealt with, but you’re the criminal!” Oliver demanded, “If you didn’t know Bianca was your biological daughter, why did you apply to work at our house?” “It’s a coincidence!

All coincidences!” Mrs.

Daniel struggled to rise.

“All of it is indeed a coincidence!” Even Oliver was incensed by the woman’s stubborn denials, “Where on earth are there so many coincidences?!

So your favoritism towards Bianca and your maltreatnt of Maureen over these years have been coincidences too?!

You must’ve known all along that Bianca was your biological child!

The baby switch must’ve been your doing!” Maureen didn’t want to hear any more and cut Oliver off, “What punishnt is she going to face?

Have you consulted a lawyer?” Oliver could hardly help but soften his tone when facing Maureen: “Don’t worry, I promise we will sort this out the right way.

We will insist the punishnt be severe.” Upon hearing these words, Mrs.

Daniel turned as pale as a ghost.

She knelt on the ground, pleading with desperation to Maureen, “Why push soone to the edge of the abyss?

Speaking hypothetically, even If I had swapped the baby, but Maureen, I never drowned you or abused you.

I left you at the orphanage’s doorstep—” “Shut up!” Chris in the corner couldn’t bear it any longer, hurling a cup towards her which shattered at her feet.

It was the first ti ever he had t soone like her – It wouldn’t have led to a domino effect of subsequent events if it wasn’t for her!

Yet here she was, not owning up to her wrongdoings and desperately trying to absolve herself.

The shards of glass narrowly missed Mrs.

Daniel’s throat, leaving her scared witless and speechless.

In sheer desperation, her eyes turned to Bianca, who sat on the sofa.

“Bianca, Bianca, I beg you to plead for .

I’m only 42 and I can’t spend the rest of my life in jail.

Consider the fact that I gave birth to you and help .

If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have been driven to such extres.

I couldn’t raise you alone nor provide you with the best education.

We would have been forced to live in a rented apartnt and eat instant noodles.

You would’ve been malnourished, you were still so young…”
