"We’re done here."

"Yes master~"

’Master? Since when did my title beco that?’

Azazel arched his brow but didn’t utter a word.

Although he couldn’t be bothered to care, right now all he wanted to do was to rest.

Akathartos had fallen silent, the sword had overexerted itself by sharing the burden of Azazel’s pain so it was currently resting within his soul space.

After absorbing the legendary Raven Muninn and obtaining its will, he had passed out montarily.

He didn’t know how long he’d been out, but it hadn’t been long.

The first thing he did after waking up was to locate the faint connection of his mana tethered to the silver coin.

He used inversion to swap places with the coin back to the place where he was standing before the cave exchange.

His stomach churned violently causing him to empty its contents down to the last bit of food he ate.

He just sat there for a while, taking a few monts to catch his breath, then he walked over to the stream to clean himself up.

It was then he noticed the subtle connection of one of his coins close by and that was how he found Lily and three fools who were trying to hit on his own exclusive maid.

He didn’t even feel angry, he pitied the bastards at best, he knew how dangerous his maid could be from the ga playthroughs and her lore in the gaming community articles described her cruelty well enough, so he knocked them out ’politely’ before Lily would leave a certain organ of theirs crippled for life.

"Were they any aspirants on your way here?" He asked

Lily giggled.

"No, I killed them all."

"Why do you seem a little too happy about that?"

"Because I am~"

Her lips parted, forming a small circle.

"Oh, that reminds ... while you were gone there were a few assassins sent after young miss Leona, I took care of them though."

"How many?" Azazel asked coldly.

"Seven."

"The culprit?"

"The fourth prince Kyle, Espen of House Alberton and Priel of House Lance."She inford him.

Azazel didn’t respond, but from the subtle change in his deanor, Lily could tell that he was furious.

It made her wonder why he was so protective of his siblings, especially Leona who seed to hate him.

While she was aware that the devil heart Asmodeus planted within Leona was partly the reason for her hatred, it was rely an amplifier, it couldn’t work without a target who was already hated.

It was the reason it selected the most hated person as its catalyst, that ant that Leona hated Azazel way before the devil heart was planted.

But why?

The question lingered but it wasn’t her place to pry She was rely a spectator and would only act if Azazel’s life was at stake.

Azazel stopped abruptly causing Lily to do the sa, he closed his eyes for a heartbeat.

When he opened his eyes, his iris was glowing a faint silver which dissipated almost instantly.

"Lily, hold on to ."

Azazel tried to offer his hand to her but before he could do so, Lily rushed in and hugged him tightly from the front.

"W-Wha?"

He stiffened for a fraction of a second.

It wasn’t from discomfort but rather sothing he chose not to admit.

Either way, it worked in his favor.

This way he didn’t have to expend more mana than he was supposed to use.

He could just coat himself and Lily at once.

Her whole body was pressed against his, he could feel her supple flesh and body heat but he didn’t dwell on the sensation instead he exhaled, then wrapped an arm around her waist.

Gray mana wrapped around their forms, causing the air around them to ripple and distort.

Azazel could see a thread of his chaos mana connecting to one of the coins, but he didn’t pull it yet, he allowed the thread of mana to wrap around his form then pulled the connection towards the other silver coin located sowhere within the midwood of the forest.

Sohow he had a feeling that most of the remaining aspirants were gathered there.

The mont his thread of mana linked itself with the final coin, Azazel snapped his fingers.

Both he and Lily vanished into thin air leaving behind a single silver coin.

Sowhere within the forest fringe Elias had just killed the last aspirant he could find.

He was approaching the midwood of the forest when he felt a slight distortion in the air.

His eyes widened slightly, pupils dilating until his face beca pale.

Sol thrumd aggressively within Elias’ soul space, the sword felt it too.

Sothing was approaching them, sothing beastly and ancient.

’Boy, run... sothing’s comi—’

The divine blade couldn’t even finish its sentence because the next sentence, gray mana engulfed the blonde prince and then, he vanished.

Few minutes earlier

Splat!

Augusta fell to her knees, coughing a mouthful of blood which splattered on the ground below.

The red haired rcenary had her hand placed against her bleeding side, her lids grew heavy.

Around her, about twenty three aspirants were facing against her.

What was supposed to be a battle Royale had beco a team work of sorts.

They didn’t trust themselves well enough not to stab each other but they all agreed to at least take her out before they could go back to fighting amongst themselves.

"My god... what a monster!" One of them exclaid.

"How is he not dead yet?" another said.

"Is that thing even human?"

Augusta spat a mouthful of blood then flashed a bloody grin.

"You bloody fucks... what’s the matter? Are you scared, cowards, co on! Attack ."

Everyone was visibly rattled at the state of the rcenary, they were even questioning Augusta’s sanity, deciding whether it was worth it to engage such a beast in combat.

Augusta on the other hand was locked in place, a resonator had used a spell to conjure a boulder of earth against her feet so she couldn’t move.

However in that state she had managed to kill seven people without moving her feet so they couldn’t underestimate her.

’Child, use my spear art, nine raging dragon, you’re losing a lot of blood, you have to finish this as soon as possible, don’t you want to win?’

Augusta snarled.

"Shut up! You and have unfinished business so be quiet till then."

Apeiron complied and fell silent just like it was asked to, after all she was his master now, to do otherwise was to disrespect her and the divine weapon Apeiron valued respect more than anything.

Augusta gripped her common spear tightly.

It was battered and littered with cracks, its durability waning but it was still enough to deal with re aspirants.

Her gaze narrowed in focus but at the next mont she felt the space behind her distort.

Then she heard a familiar voice.

"How long do we have till the exams are over."

She paled, her grip on the spear loosening for the fraction of a second.

"Oh... I’m royally screwed."
