557: A married daughter.

557: A married daughter.

Another voice was added into the mix, adding more tension to what was already and escalating situation.

The voice belonged to none other than Huan Jiao, Zhang Lei’s daughter who was equally shrewish and unreasonable like her mother.

They were so troubleso that Caishen did not like dealing with them at all.

He had advised Alix to stay away from them.

“Your mother ca at first, shouting at at the top of her voice and ordering around as if i am her servant.

I tried to be reasonable but she would not have it.” Alix explained calmly.

Huan Jiao’s hands went to her waist, in a manner similar to her mother.

“My mother is an adult, and a daughter of the Zhang family.

Sister-in-law, as soone from the younger generation you should be respectful and obedient.

I am a granddaughter in this family but i am working, you are just a wife but you want to receive royal treatnt just because you are famous.” Alix rolled her eyes in response to what sounded like jealousy.

This Huan Jiao was clearly envious of her and she had probably been the one to instigate her mother to co over and start this argunt.

Huan Jiao’s rant continued on and she pointed at Alix with her index finger.

“You are not even filial to my grandparents at all.

You gifted expensive cars to all the mbers of your family, even the one year old son of your oldest brother but you have not given the elders of this family or any of us a car.

I have already checked all the new year gifts that you brought.” She raised her head and laughed three tis, mockingly, “Ice cream, wooden rocking horses….” Alix raised her hand.

“Stop, close your mouth right now.

Miss Huan, how are the gifts which i brought for the elders any of your business?

How does it affect you if i gift my family cars?” Their raised voices were bound to attract attention given that the house was full.

So of the other wives and children were already gathering in the dining room to watch.

It would not be a holiday if there was no chaos caused by Zhang Lei.

and her daughter.

“A married daughter is like spilt daughter.” Zhang lei spat out explosively.

“You are now married into the Zhang family so the good things you have should be given to us first.

You have already been given away, you cannot be taken back to the Tai’s anyway.” “Ho!” soone exclaid.

Alix had that exact reaction.

She was slowly coming to the realization that their anger was more than just a result jealousy.

Why they were so furious about how she chose to distribute things that belonged to her was confusing her.

They were her cars, why would she give them to people she was not close to?

“Aunt, miss Huang….” Alix addressed them, still calm but they did not allow her to get in another word.

Zhang Lei had a scornful on her face, “Let’s be honest, it’s not as if you are their real daughter, you are just an adopted child.

What if you give them all these good things and they abandon you later?

You should be using your brain and assimilating into our great Zhang family.” Her cruel words did their job_, angering Alix incredibly, so she stood up and kicked a chair with her right leg.

The chair shattered and collapsed to the ground.

Alix picked up one of the legs and pointed it at the two annoying won, ignoring the gasps of the on lookers.

“I can tolerate a lot but if you talk ill about my family, i will not stand for it.

Aunt, whether i am the biological daughter of the Tai’s or soone they picked up from the side of the road is none of your business.” She clenched her hand around the wooden leg and it snapped into two.

“This will be your leg if you bring them up again.” Her display of strength successfully scared Zhang Lei and Huang Jiao who backed away slowly, afraid of her as she was a demon.

She picked up the plate of peanuts, and walked out of the dining room, going directly to the bedroom which she shared with her husband when they slept at the mansion.

As soon as she left, Xiaobo appeared with Caishen and grandma Zhang, dragging them quickly.

“Aunt-mommy, i brought back up.” he announced.

Alix was gone, but there were more people in the dining room.

A broken chair was laying on the floor and there was a lot of whispering.

“What happened here?” Grandma Zhang sternly asked.

Her eyes looked around and settled on Zhang Ruirui, a teenage girl from the second family.

The young girl was deathly afraid of the elder so she spilled everything that she had heard and seen.

Grandma Zhang’s mouth twitched as she glared at her daughter who knew nothing but to cause trouble and start petty fights and argunts every lunar new year_____, no, every ti there was a family event.

“Mother, i was just cautioning her and telling her the truth.

We have all heard about those cars she gave the Tai’s, why hasn’t she given any to us?

We are now her family, we are even closer to her than the Tai’s.

An adopted daughter is not as good as a real one, at the end of the day, they will not give her anything which belongs to their family.” Zhang Lei defended herself when she found herself on the end of a stinking eye from her mother.

“Why did you talk about her family?

Lei, you…what are you thinking?” Huan Jiao rushed to her mother’s defense, “Grandmother..” “Keep your mouth sealed Jiao.” Caishen barked.

He startled everyone and Jiao even jumped up a little.

“Aunt, it seems like you have been too comfortable lately, my uncle’s business must be flourishing.” he added in a calr voice.

Words that seed to an nothing made Zhang Lei’s face beco pale.

She was well aware of the lengths Caishen could go to to destroy a business rival.

If he waved war against her husband’s company, he would find a way to bring it down surely.

Even if it didn’t collapse, it would be damaged significantly.

She turned to her mother, the one person that could stop Caishen.

“Mother…” she cried out.

Caishen was unwilling to stay and listen and as he had a wife to check on.

He turned his back on his aunt and walked away.

Grandma Zhang was hugely displeased and disappointed in her daughter.

“Lei, for your information, Alix was already given shares in TFK, just because they didn’t announce it publicly does not an it didn’t happen.

How could you stand and boldly call her an adopted daughter and make it sound as if they are not sincere with her?” Zhang An that disliked this aunt of hers felt like an opportunity had co to give her a proper face slap.

“Hmph, biological daughters in the Zhang family cannot even inherit or receive a single share but our Alix, the adopted daughter of the Tai family owns six percent of her family’s company.

Aunt, Jiao, are you jealous of her?”
