556: Clash with an aunt.

556: Clash with an aunt.

The n waiting besides Alix car continued to wait, hands on their weapons as they anticipated her exist from where she had disappeared to, but she did not appear.

She was already back at the old Zhang mansion, safe inside the warmth of the brightly decorated house.

Aang had showed up just before she stepped through the bathroom door and taken her away.

She was happily eating glutinous rice balls which grandma Zhang had given to her so affectionately.

The small bowl of colorful sweet rice balls was being shared between her and Xiaobo.

She was sitting at the dining table, carrying him in her arms and every ti she picked one, he did the sa and both of them were playing a simple ga of swapping candies on her phone.

Zhang An ca by with a plate of peanuts and she dumped it in front of the two laziest people in the house that were managing to dodge all the work.

“I left you two like this thirty minutes ago and you have not moved an inch.” Without looking up, Alix replied, “I am babysitting.” Xiaobo was just the sa, not raising his head.

“I am the baby.” Zhang An smacked her lips and she huffed, then turned her back and walked away from the two frustrating individuals.

The saying like mother like daughter should be changed to like aunt like nephew.

Xiaobo swiped and made a match, ending the ga and then his hand moved to the plate of peanuts.

“Aunt, we should probably do sothing productive, right?” “We are.” Alix pointed to the plate of peanuts.

“We are tasting the snacks, drinks and food.

It is a very important job.

Who else will tell them if they have put too much or too little seasoning?” Xiaobo smiled and nodded.

“Aunt-mommy, you are right.” “Aunt-mommy.” Alix repeated.

He looked around and then gestured at her to lower her head so that he could whisper.

“Dad and uncle told not to call you mommy because it’s weird, people will talk.

So, if i call you aunt-mommy, nobody will talk and it’s not weird.” He explained his false logic so proudly like it made sense, which it didn’t, but she didn’t care anyway.

“Okay, i am aunt mommy.” she confird and tapped the screen of the phone, moving on to the next level of the ga.

The two continued to enjoy their idle ti, unbothered with all the noise and festivities happening around them.

Twenty minutes later, Caishen’s aunt Zhang Lei stopped by.

As soon as Alix slled her strong irritating perfu, she knew that trouble had co.

She and this aunt Zhang Lei did not get along and they could not see eye to eye on anything.

The entitled woman seed to be under the misguided belief that Alix had to worship her and run errands for her.

Alix had refused to do so, and the two had been clashing since then.

Zhang Lei did not waste a mont in jumping on Alix to pick on her.

“You are here sitting and playing a ga on your phone while other daughters-in-law are in the kitchen cooking or doing sothing useful with their hands.

What do you think you are doing, Caishen’s wife?” Alix raised her eyes lazily to the woman that looked ready to explode with her hands on her waist and hair out of place, with so flour on her angry dragon like face.

“Aunt, i have told you to stop calling Caishen’s wife, my na is Alix, Tai Alix.” Why was the woman determined to erase her identity and deem her nothing but Caishen’s wife?

Moreover, was there anyone in this house that didn’t know she was Caishen’s wife?

Why did his aunt feel the need to repeat it over and over again?

“Caishen’s wife,” Zhang Lei continued eagerly as if Alix had said nothing.

“You are really irresponsible and you are setting a poor example for the other wives and children.

I command…” “Eh!” Alix exclaid and chuckled.

“I am sorry, you do what now?” Alix laughed so more in Zhang Lei’s face and sent Xiaobo away.

The baby did not need to see what was going to follow, Zhang Lei looked like she was ready to jump onto Alix and snap her neck.

“You think you are special, don’t you?” she barked.

Alix nodded.

“Yes, i am actually special, aunt.

Just to clear the air, grandma knows that i am sitting here and playing with Xiaobo.

If she is okay with it, why are you so worked up?

The kitchen is overcrowded so i was sent out, there is nothing to do outside because it’s raining.” It was grandma and so other sisters-in-law that kept asking her to sit and rest when she tried to help out.

The second elders wife had even said her hands were too precious to be around knives and other sharp objects in the kitchen.

Was she supposed to stay back, cry and beg for them to assign her work?

Even the maids that had not gone back to their hos were helping out so it was not as if her absence had resulted in work being stalled.

“Then mop the floors.” Zhang Lei jumped in.

Alix looked down at the sparkling clean floors which had just been cleaned by the housekeeping robots she gave the elders the day before and shot Zhang Lei a look of exasperation and exhaustion.

The woman was really just determined to pick a fight with her, it didn’t matter over what.

Since she wanted violence, then Alix would follow her down that dark tunnel.

Provocatively, she shook her head.

“I don’t think so, i am allergic to bending.” “You shaless thing…” “I am also allergic to cooking, sweeping, washing dishes, doing laundry.

Aunt, since you like doing housework so much, please help and do my share as well.” Zhang Lei’s hands fell from her waist and she sputtered, lacking a response to Alix’s retort.

“Sister-in-law, how can you talk to my mother like that?”
